no, I did it the same way, and no matter what I do I have a empty window in the mod launcher where no mods are displayed!

@SSJR_Trunks Please make sure you've installed everything on your C drive and try the guide by Akelix

@Ragnaman Could you specify these "many things"? It surely doesn't look like the work of a skilled artist but most textures look quite faithful to the original. So if there are specific textures worth revisiting I'll put it on my list for future updates

just an AI upscale, many things just look horrible.

Absolutely amazing mod! This + learning that they updated the game recently led to me having the glorious realization that I can now replay this excellent game! A bit flowery prose here but I am VERY happy. Was in dire need of a long game to immerse myself in over time. Thanks for your part in making that happen!

@Akelix Thx for the guide. Added a short version in the description if people don't read the comments.

Hey everyone that is wondering how to install the mods after the last update. I found this on the another modder's original content, and it seems to works:

1) You must play on the public test version of the game, you can enable it by going into the beta menu of the game

2) Download this mod

3) Launch the game from your steam library but select the mod launcher to open and not the actual game. Note you may need to do this from properties -> general -> launch options.

4) Select my mod and click "apply", the mod launcher will freeze for a moment and after that the mod is applied

For those having trouble getting the HD texture mods to show up under the mod loader, try the following:

The workshop ID for this game is 39540. After downloading both texture packs, go to where you have Steam installed in your storage drive and navigate to the following directory.

SteamLibrary > Steamapp > Workshop > Content > 39540

Inside folder 39540 should be the two texture packs you downloaded; 2686959980 and 2687895448. Copy both folders, now we need to navigate to where the game was installed.

Go into your game library and right click SpellForce: Platinum Edition > Manage > Browse Local Files. This will take you directly to where the game is installed.

Now locate the mod folder and paste the two folders you copied inside. Boot up the Mod Launcher and refresh the list if needed. Both files should now appear, enjoy!

Please tell me how to activate mods from the Steam Workshop for SpellForce Platinum Edition correctly?

P.S. I already have a beta testing mode and I see the stats of my warriors and enemy mobs. Plus, I have a subscription for those mods that exist in the Workshop. But I can't figure out how to use them in this launcher.

@Ulm There's a folder called cursor in the NexusMods archive. That should contain all the cursor files.
Ulm Nov 18, 2022 @ 4:40pm
heya, i'm having some issues with the mouse cursor when using this part of the textures. For some reason it scales up massively and is a good 5x the usual size. For context, I'm using this with the Custom Troops mod and using dgVoodoo to fix disappearing UI elements.

Could you perhaps point me to the files that modify the cursor, so I could remove those from the pack?

Yhea, gotta live with it for now. It's pretty cool that such an old relic of game has workshop support anyway.
MicRaving  [author] Jul 11, 2022 @ 12:44am
@balearadu Yup. That's how mods are implemented in Spellforce. Maybe the devs will fix this but I wouldn't count on it...
balearadu Jul 9, 2022 @ 2:23pm
Really weird that it doesn't work unless I install the game on my Windows partition.

How do you force SSAA ? Did you use Nvidia Inspector ?

Help, I don't know how to enable this mod
Crosshead Jan 14, 2022 @ 6:59am
SOLUTION: i have a Steam libraary on my faster C drive and one on my "slower" D drive.
Moved Spellforce to the C drive, now all mods show up.
MicRaving  [author] Jan 14, 2022 @ 6:52am
No worries. Just wanted to hint that reporting a bug to the devs or via Discord could help as they actively try to fix bugs. If you have this problem someone else might have it, too :)
Crosshead Jan 14, 2022 @ 6:35am
P.S. my issue, that the mod loader is empty applies to all mods from this Workshop.

Tested:
"Audio Fixes by DLSkaidan" by you
"Ice Mage Background" by rupuzioks2
"Eloni - FGM Map" by Maycrom
and - of course - these two mod parts
Crosshead Jan 14, 2022 @ 6:23am
Yep, i dont blame you, the game is old and not was never that popular, so getting workshop support is in no way expected.

Mod definitly was downloaded completely the mod lancher list was refreshed multiple times.
Unsubscribed and Subscribed again, downloading it again and a 3rd time, the mod launcher did not display anything.

Again I do not blame the mod! Just bad luck on a very old game.
MicRaving  [author] Jan 12, 2022 @ 1:59am
If the mod doesn't show up at all, this is not a problem of the mod but most likely human error or a problem with Steam/Spellforce.
- Make sure the mod is properly downloaded (~3 GB).
- Refresh the mod list in the mod loader.
Crosshead Jan 11, 2022 @ 11:18am
I have subscribed to both parts, switched switched to publictest as @exeonz wrote, started the mod manager, but that was completely empty. So there was nothing i could activate.

Will go without the mod.
MicRaving  [author] Jan 8, 2022 @ 7:27am
@Crosshead What exactly is the problem? Have you subscribed to both parts? Have you activated the mod?
If the problem still exists you can write a PM or via Spellforce Discord (same name)
Crosshead Jan 8, 2022 @ 2:27am
for me the mod here in steam does show up in the mod manager, after switching to the public test, trying ith nexus mods version now
MicRaving  [author] Jan 3, 2022 @ 5:13am
Thanks for the information. I have edited the description so the required version should be clear now. Maybe you need to re-download the mod (unsubscribe, restart Steam, subscribe again) after switching to the beta branch. You can also use the Nexus Mods version which is compatible to every game version https://www.nexusmods.com/spellforceplatinumedition/mods/28
Exeonz Jan 2, 2022 @ 1:40pm
Oh I see, was confused about what Spellforce Mod Launcher is and how to use it. Had no idea that I had to switch game to publictest in steam launch options for Mod Launcher to display or that there even was a publictest since description states mod is compatible with every version including 1.54 and 1.61. Now the mod loader tab isn't showing that I have High Res Textures downloaded, it's just blank even though it's showing them in workshop in steam game properties. It's fine, might be just me since nobody else has said anything and I ended up downloading your mod from nexusmods, anyway thanks for the mod and a quick reply.
MicRaving  [author] Jan 2, 2022 @ 10:12am
Have you activated the mods?
1. Subscribe to both parts. Wait until the download (~3GB) is finished.
2. Launch Spellforce Mod Launcher.
3. In the Mod Loader tab, tick the boxes and press apply.
4. Launch the game.
Exeonz Jan 1, 2022 @ 7:24pm
How do I install this? Subscribing has no effect on the game.
