The first FAL designed was an assault rifle chambered in 5.56 which was an intermediate round, and select fire, as assault rifles are.

However the mass produced variants used by many nations were 7.62x51mm battle rifles which were typically select fire as well. (Though I think select fire is not mandatory to be considered a battle rifle)

Additionally fully automatic fire was very difficult to control in the 7.62x51mm. If I am wrong on battle rifles you may correct me. I don't know a lot about them.

As a side note: the first assault rifle mass produced and used by an army, was the German MP-44. MP means machine pistole, this "MP" was meant to decieve Hitler.

I know not everybody shoots, but if you do decide to know the rules of gun safety.
If you don't know them, don't mess with a gun.

Use common sense, obey the law, if underage don't touch them. No guns are unloaded. Thinking and treating a gun as unloaded is how accidents happen.

@Onikenshin The Mk18 isn't a battle rifle. It's a carbine. Battle rifles are like the M14 or the FAL - they use full-sized rifle cartridges.

Platinum Squirrel. The Marine core primarily uses M16 rifles. The M4 is very rare in those units. The United States Army has been phasing out the M16 to reserve and Guard troops for a the past 10 years. The M4a1 has started to phase out the M4, bumping them to reserve troops. The Mk18 is a battle rifle that like many weapon systems you can change the barrell out.

@Angry Mexicans there is no M4 in insurgency, he meant M16. The only branch of the United States military to even use the M4A1 is the USMC, other then them it is all M16A4s, the branch that insurgency is based in is the US Army Rangers. The closest thing to a M4A1 they use is a MK 18, which is a similar design but more compact, thus making it a ideal firearm for commanders.

Hold up, this looks like an M-16A4 reskin, not an M-4 reskin.

Would it be possible to do a MultiCam camo texture for the M-16 and the M-4? Also, I assume your M-4 retextures alter the model from the Mk-18 CQBR to an M-4A1 MWS.

Wow, I was seriously worried when I saw this, but thank God it's not like in GO! The skin doesn't seem bad at all. Would be cool if we could assign certain skins to certain maps, cause that'd be awesome! Like "Boreal Forest" on Peak and this on "Buhriz".
