I mean... you didn't have to go so far as to double the lengths.
Just take the sound file, mute it, and if you feel like it isn't the correct length then just add like half-a-second or something to it. Only over extend by a smaller margin than a huge one.

i like this addon because its like this dream i had with zombies. WWZ types but they were completely verbally silent and had no facial movements (outside of the usual biting and nawing they did when they got a hold of someone)

people think this mod is dumb, but if you think about it, it could be almost considered a "cheat" in a way... you make the common silent, and then you use "silent guns" or something, and then you can clear as day hear the special infected so there will be no chance of them sneaking up on you :D

hm, what exactly don't work? do you still hear sounds or what? I've done this for other source games and it worked fine, I just had to rebuild sound cache too

hey man, that's what I always wanted for L4D :)
to make things right you just need to take the left4dead2\sound\common\null.wav, and replace all common infected sounds with this file. This file is just 2kb in size, you'll decrease your VPK file size significantly

It's so that you can hear special infected easier. Most people delete the files, but using this allows you to easily toggle it.
