@Last-Aztec-Descendant - I just tested them in campaign (190, 194, 200) and they work for me.
You must have a mod that changes something, perhaps try with just this mod and see if it works then.

He has the warning shot ability and I can see the units in custom battles just can’t recruit them in campaign

@Last-Aztec-Descendant - sorry to hear you are having problems. They work for me? Does your Huang Zhong have the skill "Warning Shot"? If not, another mod is responsible...

@whocares? - that is a pretty good idea! I've tried to make these units take advantage of attributes that are only seen rarely. Thrown weapons definitely fit in that category...
I was planning on doing the Five Elite Generals next in the series, but will try to sneak in a Dan Wei mod in the middle somewhere...

i dont know if this a good idea but i simply want my idea heard but what about dian wei and his units use dual short ji's but have a limited amount of throwing ji's as their unique feature however in the coding i imagine it would have to be throwing axes because of technical limitations. I think they would fit him quite well as apparently in legends he was so strong he could use ji's as a throwing weapon do what you will with this i just wanted to post this.

@waaaou - these mods work with MTU/TUP but won't with any mod that changes generals skills. I actually worked with some experienced modders on the Zhao Yun mod to see if we could trigger the units using a different method, with no success. There are other large overhaul mods that also alter skill trees and these mods will not work with them either. I would have to create duplicate mods just for Havie's skill mod, which I may have time to do in the future.

ok i see now. Is there a way to disable the skill requirement or at least make a patch so that these generals work with havies mtu/tup skill mod?

@waaaou - the skills required are listed in the descriptions under "changes" In each case the skill is already enabled on spawn.

I have Havie's skill mod as the only mod that changes skills. The unit's also don't show up on the unavailable unit list when you go to recruit units for these characters. Is there a list of the skill needed to get these units?

If the mods are not working for you, it is almost certainly because of conflicts with other mods, If you have a mod that changes the generals skills, such as WU, then these mods will not work. You can check by looking at the generals skill tree. If they don't have the skill listed for my mod, then it won't work... Not much I can do about other mods, sorry

So I believe there is a bug with Huang Zhong, Cao Ren, Zhang Fei, Jia Xu, Diaochan and maybe Sun Ren. I'm not sure if its because I am playing with other unit mods but some of the generals have their special units and some the ones I listed don't. I am also playing with MTU and TUP but once again I don't think its these mods because the other generals like Guan Yu and Zhao Yun have their special units and can be recruited just fine. I am not 100% about Sun Ren because I can't summon her when she's too young with the console.

also i love the screenshot they all look so angry!

another one for the collection! I was going to say gao shun next but lu bu's faction unique units the camp crushers are what gao shun had under his command so that doesn't really make sense.
