I've noticed that species from this pack do not have a livestock production value. They produce no resources when working that job.

Yeah definitely keep this thing separate lol, being forced to buy DLC to keep using this would be pretty awful

I most likely won't do a merge because like @catwhowalksbyhimself said, it'll probably mess up compatibility
Also I can't really afford the dlc right now, and its not really my priority in the short term. There's a good chance I instead just make another portrait pack and hope that paradox doesn't end up with the same idea.

For those asking for a merge, if you make a mod add new portraits to the game's built in category, it makes int incompatible with every other mod that does the same. It's a bad idea.

Could these portraits be merged into Paradox's once the DLC releases? Like others have mentioned, this mod can just be an extension to the DLC. Especially with the new shipset, city, and civics/origins, this mod really fits into the game now more than before. :)

Personally, I especially like the 5th and 11th portraits from the RP's point of view.

To those claiming Paradox stole this, two things. 1. People have been talking about an aquatic set for years and Paradox has even mentioned that it might happen more than once, but not promised anything and 2. This isn't the first time modders have added aquatic portraits.

And it's not like the DLC harms this mod at all. On the contrary, having even more portraits along those lines is only a good thing.

2. it takes more then a month to make a species pack they likely had the aquatics pack planed and maybe even were working on it before this mod was released

And in the case of games like Stellaris, this is an obvious plus, the creativity (and money) of any studio is not enough to implement all possible sci-fi tropes.

a dev studio the size of Stellaris' from a company like Paradox can and usually does have a DLC churned out in under a month. The longest parts are design concepts and voices-
