This works for me! :) Thank you. I put it at the bottom of my load order (except for More Bookmarks and some compatibility mods). This one is right under Unified UI since I assume it would not work with it. This still allows me to use all the special sliders that come with my other mods but without the enraging effect of Beauty Traits making everyone look exactly the same.

Doesn't appear compatible with EK2 (or might not even work with newest updates haven't tried base game) shame.

for some reason it still changes a small bit of the features, anyway to stop that?

Even basic UI mods kill achievements. Paradox screwed up badly making this game.

I don't understand why a graphical mod like this is not achievement compatible smh... I have an achievements compatible mod to disable the complexion for characters with beauty traits, but i can't find one for the DNA modifier.

Is it impossible due to paradox limitations regarding mods/achievements ?

EPE applies makeup separately. You can customize that yourself.

For what it's worth, I think it's a good change that complexion is now fully disabled.

The trait represents congenital beauty, whereas things like lipstick, powder etc are obviously artificial.

The game should bring back the Groomed / Uncouth traits from CK2, and apply the complexion changes to those instead of congenital beauty.

Pretty sure you can apply the complexion with Fullscreen Barbershop anyway

Also if you think this is a bad change just let me know and I'll revert it ASAP.

@child_of_air @Swordsman Chinchilla As of the 1.6.x update, you no longer need to use the other mod as I disabled the beauty complexion from affecting characters with any of the Beauty traits.

1.6.x Update
- Beauty complexion is no longer applied at all to characters with any of the beauty_good traits.

If you still want your custom DNA to use the beauty complexion, you can apply it in the Debug Portrait Editor by selecting the "complexion" gene and then the "complexion_beauty_1" gene template.

This still works, at least the gene part, but the complexion part might not work anymore

Does this still work for 1.6? I'm thinking it doesn't because my character's lips were painfully bright red.

@Volvith Try placing it all the way at the bottom of your other playset so it loads last. It works for me with other mods enabled.

I just checked the mod and placed it in it's own playset after it didn't work, which seems to have fixed it.
On its own the mod works, but it appears that something in my other playset was conflicting with it, so if it doesn't work for anyone else; remove everything and add mods 1 by 1 until you find out what conflicts.

The version descriptor is still on 1.4.4 after the update. ;)

Yeah I had the same problem. Had to reset my playset due to some error and after loading all the mods, I got the problem where the beauty traits began affecting my characters' outlook again.

I just moved this mod to the bottom of the playset and it was working fine again so if anyone's having this problem, I suggest just changing the loading order first and see if that fixes it

I'm getting conflicted info from people saying the mod either works or doesn't work, so please at least try to adjust your mod load order first to see if that might fix the issues you're having.

If that doesn't work and the mod is indeed broken, I will try to get around to fixing it soon™, although depending on how much PDX changed the way beauty genes work in 1.5.x, it might not be a quick fix. But let's hope it will be. :P

This mod doesn't work for me... characters are still genetically affected by the Beautiful trait.

Very much appreciate this mod. It feels incredibly short-sighted to me that a game this focused on player agency and customized storytelling would limit the player to such a degree by making objectively positive traits have an objectively negative impact on your gameplay by taking away the ability to customize.

This mod still works with 1.5. However, I'm wondering if there is a way to get it work for the player character, but not NPCS. Why? Because some NPCS since the update are so damn ugly that they need to have their faces altered!

I'm going to test it out and see if it still works. I'll reply back here.

Thanks for keeping us informed! This mod is kind of a must-have for me.

@child_of_air I don't have the DLC bought yet so if it's something with the new DLC that breaks it, I can't do much about that yet. If it's just the patch that broke it, then I'll have to find out first what they changed that made it so. I will update it as soon as I find out how.
