TerraPass  [author] Dec 14, 2022 @ 4:24am
I have no plans to further update this mod, since the feature it provided has been built into the vanilla game since 1.5 - the "Short Name" checkbox in the title customization window.

Easily one of the best mods made for this game. I know there are a lot of people out there who have been waiting for exactly this mod for a loooong time. Can't wait for the future updates that will add more custom slots!
Richie Dec 21, 2021 @ 9:45am
OMG finally I found this, thank you!
Murden Dec 15, 2021 @ 2:47pm
This mod is fantastic! A must have.
MetaMeta Nov 19, 2021 @ 12:19pm
@TerraPass two things:
1. I have been thinking about the translation and I don't think that "Vorsilbe" fits well. I searched for a long time to find the best way to translate "prefix" into German and came to the conclusion that the tooltip should be called "Titelbezeichnung entfernen" (remove title name) or "Titelbezeichnung ausblenden" (hide title name).
2. I still don't understand GitHub and don't know exactly how to translate files and what all to translate. Could you possibly send me a list with all the sentences I should translate? That would help me immensely.
MetaMeta Nov 19, 2021 @ 10:19am
@TerraPass I'm eating now, but I will check it later
TerraPass  [author] Nov 19, 2021 @ 10:00am
@MetaMeta Well, now that you mention it...

I have another mod for which people have been asking for German translation just recently.
Though there's a lot more text there. It's all in these files [github.com], if you're still interested.
MetaMeta Nov 19, 2021 @ 9:37am
@TerraPass if you ever need another german translation, just ask me :)
TerraPass  [author] Nov 19, 2021 @ 7:48am
@MetaMeta your translation is now included in the mod, thank you very much.
MetaMeta Nov 19, 2021 @ 7:22am
@TerraPass
I am not very familiar with GitHub.
You could say:
"Vorsilbe entfernen" (remove prefix).
"Vorsilbe hinzufügen" (add prefix).
Or:
"Vorsilbe vom Titel entfernen" (remove prefix from title).
"Vorsilbe zum Titel hinzufügen" (add prefix to title)
Instead of "Vorsilbe" you could also use "Präfix", but this is rarely said.
You're welcome :)
TerraPass  [author] Nov 19, 2021 @ 7:14am
@MetaMeta There are currently only two strings in this mod, here they are:

"Remove tier prefix from Title"
"Restore tier prefix to Title"

You can just post a comment here with these lines translated into German and I'll add your translation to the mod files myself.

Alternatively, if you're familiar with GitHub and would like to do it yourself, you can submit a pull request to add a German localization file here [github.com], using files for other languages as an example.

Either way, danke for offering a German translation.
MetaMeta Nov 19, 2021 @ 7:01am
Hi, I would like to add a German translation, but I don't know exactly how. Could you explain it to me?
gunndigs Nov 18, 2021 @ 8:02pm
Ah, drat, oh well. Totally reasonable conclusion to come to, completely agree here. Hopefully they do address that for the modding community at some point. Either way, thanks for looking into it!
TerraPass  [author] Nov 18, 2021 @ 2:25pm
@Cameron122 I haven't yet experimented with names displayed on the map, so can't say for certain, though it sounds implementable at first glance. I'll let you know if I find this out later.

In the meantime you might want to ask this question in one of the modding channels of the CK3 Discord server [discord.gg] - some of the modders there might know the answer already.
TerraPass  [author] Nov 18, 2021 @ 2:21pm
@gunndigs Anyway, this feature can certainly be implemented regardless, but it would either amount to essentially appending "the " to the title name itself (which you can do yourself anyway) or would require extensive UI modding, which would turn this so far lightweight mod into a far less compatible proposition with respect to other mods, which is a problem for an utility mod such as this one.

So overall I don't think it's currently worth it to implement within scope of this mod, sorry. Maybe later as a separate mod/submod with its own compatibility caveats.

Or alternatively, maybe Paradox will add/fix the dynamic article modification in a future patch (I'll submit this feature to a modding features wishlist), in which case I'll be happy to go back and implement this feature in this very mod.
TerraPass  [author] Nov 18, 2021 @ 2:21pm
@gunndigs Okay so I looked for any support from the game in dynamic switching of separate title articles and was surprised to not find a reasonable way to change it.

My initial optimism was based on a misleading line in modding documentation, which suggested that there is a dedicated script call allowing to set title article during the game. Unfortunately, the docs are wrong and this call does something else entirely, and also Paradox should update their docs. :steamsalty:
Cameron122 Nov 17, 2021 @ 1:52am
I figured this would be the best place to ask, but would it be possible to make a mod for governments that use the dynasty name to add their government in a “long name” sort of thing? For example in 867 instead of just Abbasid it would say Abbasid Caliphate on the map, and instead of Saffarid being the name of the kingdom of Persia it’s Saffarid Shahdom, and if they form the Persian Empire they’re called the Saffarid Empire?
gunndigs Nov 17, 2021 @ 12:07am
wonderful news looking forward to it! To cite your excellent example, I'd love to be able to name my realm "Bagels" and be able to then toggle if my character appears as "King of Bagels" or "King of the Bagels"

this would also allow us to FINALLY become "Boss of the Naboo," which i cant believe isn't possible in the base game.
TerraPass  [author] Nov 14, 2021 @ 7:57am
@gunndigs Yes, I think there might be a way. I'll try to look into it next week.
gunndigs Nov 14, 2021 @ 7:52am
LOVE this mod! Finally!

One thought: is there a way to also toggle "of / of the" before our domain? For example, in the base game some nations are listed this way (Emperor of the Roman Empire, Khan of the Mogyer Confederation) without "the" being part of the domain title.

Doing that would be the cherry on top, otherwise this is still phenomenal. Thanks again!
TerraPass  [author] Sep 22, 2021 @ 5:47am
@둔둔 As far as I can see, the only thing Res Publica changes in title window is the condition for whether "Make Primary" button is displayed.

So, if you load this mod after Res Publica, it all should mostly work, except that "Make Primary" will be available for republic holders, even though according to Res Publica it shouldn't be.

I'll see if I can change something, so that this doesn't happen and, if possible, so that load order between Res Publica and this mod becomes unimportant.
둥실 DUNGSIL Sep 21, 2021 @ 10:44pm
It appears to be incompatible with the Res Republic mod.
TerraPass  [author] Sep 21, 2021 @ 3:12am
@Tiryth Compatible with Ironman but unfortunately not with achievements.
Tiryth Sep 20, 2021 @ 5:59pm
Is this Ironman compatible?
JUNNNSYKO Sep 20, 2021 @ 12:16am
Holy shit I was literally wish for this kind of mod like a week back on reddit and there it is.
TerraPass  [author] Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:53am
@Ajie No problem at all, I'm glad it's working now, have fun.
Ajie Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:51am
now its working thank you so much. im still new using mods with this game.
TerraPass  [author] Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:49am
I can't be 100% sure, since I haven't yet worked with map-changing mods. At first glace, I don't think there's a difference, as long as there's just 1 of them, but you should check with your map mod's developers to be safe.
Ajie Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:47am
im still new in using mod for this game i have this game before outside steam and i just got this steam version few days ago.
Ajie Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:43am
oh stupid me. haha
by the way i have 1 question. regarding mods like those mods changing maps do they need to have specific load order to be use with other mod? example like oriental and indochina. i know you can only use 1 but do they need to be on top of everything?
TerraPass  [author] Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:37am
Oh, and for Randomize CoA you should use just the regular Randomize CoA mod (this one https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2530900869) and not the Title Manager-compatibility version, since that is now obsolete.
Ajie Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:36am
i am trying to load this 3 first before adding other mods to make sure every single mods that i have will load correctly.
Ajie Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:34am
title manager
random coa compatibility
your mod

this overwrite the title manager
TerraPass  [author] Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:31am
Also tell me your load order please, I'd like to test it locally.
TerraPass  [author] Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:31am
I mean it should auto-update the mods, but sometimes it doesn't for some reason, and you have to do it manually.
One way would be to unsub from all 3, launch the game, quit, resub to all 3 and launch the game again.
Ajie Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:27am
oh you mean the mods inside my playset need to be updated manually its not auto updating when mods are updated? unlike other game
TerraPass  [author] Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:23am
@Ajie There is no separate compatibility patch, the 3 mods themselves were updated to play nice with each other.
Make sure you've downloaded the latest update for each of them.

What's the load order you are currently using and are there any other mods?
Ajie Sep 19, 2021 @ 3:16am
where is the compatibility patch? i still cant make the 3 mod work together.
TerraPass  [author] Sep 18, 2021 @ 4:26pm
I think currently Title Manager has to be loaded before Randomize CoA. This mod can be loaded at any position relative to the other two.
Ajie Sep 18, 2021 @ 3:46pm
any loading order needed?
TerraPass  [author] Sep 18, 2021 @ 2:58pm
@Ajie Thankfully, both mods' authors were easy to find and extremely helpful. So now all 3 of our mods can be used together. 🥳
Ajie Sep 18, 2021 @ 2:38pm
wow that was fast
TerraPass  [author] Sep 18, 2021 @ 12:55am
@truelove101992 If you only click the new UI button for your Papacy, it will only affect that title.
The mod will not make any changes by default or for titles you don't want to change.
