Yay!
denstat Nov 12, 2022 @ 8:34pm
Thanks, still functioning perfectly in Oldrim.

Sorry. It's only here on the Steam Workshop.

another place besides steam that I can download this
byunbunny Aug 15, 2018 @ 3:35pm
Quality mod, just wish there were more ingots and misc. items to steal in the houses. Residents are super powerful and helped me kill a giant that killed one of my cows and a chicken. Only problem is you can sell to merchants but they will not give you gold.
Dazz Apr 7, 2018 @ 12:46pm
This is fantastic, Ticklefeather. I like the refreshing lack of oppressive walls, the Carriage House, the way the buildings blend in so nicely, how they are decorated, the NPCs and the Fish trough! It was fun discovering the creepy secrets of the Mine and the hidden easter egg. In time maybe one day Ma'jarr will swing a pickaxe again and perhaps the Orc couple will adopt a child that Erich can play with. Thank You. I will likely spend a lot more time in Winstad in future. :steamhappy:

For people wanting Guards On Your Home, I googled and found an existing mod specifically for Hearthfire homes. I picked the basic version to test and, so far, that works fine.
Ticklefeather  [author] Nov 2, 2017 @ 3:52am
@ Satorias Wow! I'm not sure what is causing your game to freeze there. I haven't had anyone else report that, it may be a conflict with another mod. Those are difficult to trouble shoot.

@ Everyone else...the poor driver's kid is "playing in the dirt" or so the idle marker says. :D I wish I could script him to play games with our adopted children but that is way more than I am able to do. Just don't leave him alone with Meeko. ;)
Sartorias Oct 16, 2017 @ 3:39pm
I had a question. I seem to have a small problem now...I am inside the mine, but as I try to leave, the game consistantly freezes over and over again...any suggestions?
Kad Jul 9, 2017 @ 3:37pm
Hmmm Ticklefeather, this must get boring - or maybe not - I LOVE THIS MOD, Totally fits especially with Morthal being so far away.
I was wondering if I might be totally rude and ask for a friend for the Khajiit, he just seems so lonely on his own, and it would give more money to them to buy things ?
Also I have the same concern as 'toosoon2u' the kid hangs around and just stabs the ground, or ??? I don't adopt kids as I prefer to wander and sort out the province. I did not remember they were the carriage drivers family, I will make sure I get it. Thank you. Be well and please, keep on modding thank you so much . Cheers
Spagett! Mar 15, 2017 @ 6:11am
If this had a wall I would choose this mod over any other windstad expansion
Melet Dec 13, 2016 @ 4:56pm
Can you add guards? It would really help with the immersion.
Khiimori Oct 23, 2016 @ 7:25pm
I loved your mod, really helped it feel less "spooky} as the kids would say, but then I found the mod for Fort Winstad and it was a tough call between the two, wish you could update yours to mesh with that one, that would be epic!!
toosoon2u Sep 19, 2016 @ 3:50pm
Makes the place seem less empty and the hold bigger. But I did catch the kid kneeling on the ground stabing something-kinda worrying
Ticklefeather  [author] Jun 23, 2016 @ 3:15am
@ Ripper Hmm that is strange. She is assigned to the bed in her house.
Ripper Jun 22, 2016 @ 3:40am
The cook keeps sleeping in my bed.... Once I'll marry, will it stop? It's quite annoyning
Ticklefeather  [author] Mar 2, 2016 @ 1:08am
@ Ed Northcott Thanks!
Norvordr Feb 22, 2016 @ 7:30am
Brilliant idea, and I love the fact that it keeps things grounded -- it all fits in with the game, rather than sticking out with gratuitous add-ons. I only wish there were similar mods for each of the Hearthfire homes!
StrikeWyrm Nov 7, 2015 @ 8:44am
hey i have a request for a house... heres what im looking for: enough weapon and armor stands to have 1 of each type of wepon in the game (in one room) with afew extra for moded adons, a place for my wife and kids (and the pain in the ass folowers), a stand to sell stuff (kinda like the mod only inf inventory) and just whatever the author would like to add in to make it look nice
Ticklefeather  [author] Oct 18, 2015 @ 12:46am
@ smellslikedeadfish Yes, sorry about that. I misspelled it when first saving and never went back to change it. Hope you have it all worked out.

@ conorboy27 I use another person's mod for Lakeview so I don't think I'll make my own changes there. I'm glad you like this one though.
Ducnan Oct 16, 2015 @ 9:11am
oh it was called like ticklefeatherswinstead so i it didnt come up with a windstad search
Ducnan Oct 16, 2015 @ 12:31am
can any1 tell me what the esp and bsa is called so i can uninstall this coz i installed 2 winstad mods by accident, and they sure arent named anything like the title
CJD Sep 29, 2015 @ 7:05pm
Please do it for lake view if you have the time and out of ideas
Werde Spinner Sep 20, 2015 @ 7:34am
@Ticklefeather That's good to know. Thanks!
Ticklefeather  [author] Sep 20, 2015 @ 6:29am
@ Werde Spinner I don't think load order will matter with Windstad Mine. I don't think we edited the same cells. They work well together in my game.
Werde Spinner Sep 15, 2015 @ 4:11pm
If we use this mod in conjuction with the Windstad Mine mod, which one should we place lower in the load order? PS This mod is awesome; I love having people around my house instead of being alone in some desolate marsh. :)
SauccyHazzard Sep 5, 2015 @ 6:47am
where is it on the map
Ticklefeather  [author] Jul 20, 2015 @ 1:22pm
@ lianasworld Thanks for your kind comments.
Kad Jul 18, 2015 @ 1:05am
W O W a world on your own incredible..... gotta try this, gave up with this one as the area just kept attacking me, now I have to try again :)
Jon Jul 6, 2015 @ 9:59pm
What ore nodes are in the mine? Just curious.
mpotto2001 Apr 29, 2015 @ 4:47pm
Thanks Ticklefeather; been off the grid for a while. I hired the carriage and the husband shows up but have never found the wife. What are her ID numbers so I can find her or bring her back from the dead?
yrmama Apr 18, 2015 @ 8:41pm
This is nice. I like having more people in the world.
xtopherrex Mar 28, 2015 @ 2:57am
Thank you.
Hazel Mar 28, 2015 @ 2:16am
Thanks, that's all I needed to know.
Ticklefeather  [author] Mar 27, 2015 @ 8:06am
@ xtopherrex It IS compatible with Skvindt's Windstad Mine and should be with the Extended Garden by Nathanael202. I've only tested the Mine mod though.
xtopherrex Mar 27, 2015 @ 1:20am
Is this compatible with WInstad mine and Windstad Garden?
Ticklefeather  [author] Mar 25, 2015 @ 9:24am
@ Hazel The carriage driver only shows up after you have a steward and purchase the carriage. I only changed his name.
Hazel Mar 20, 2015 @ 3:22am
This mod seems very impressive. I have a save with Winstad mostly built but no steward and hence no carriage driver. I'm thinking I should wait to download this until after I've hired one. Or can I hire him if he already lives there?
Ticklefeather  [author] Mar 14, 2015 @ 1:24am
@ mpotto2001 I'm glad you like the mod and I'm sorry you've missing NPCs. I wonder...have you purchased the carriage for your home? The husband is just the carriage driver who forever sits on the carriage. Gerturde herself is quite the wanderer. She works her garden, visits the others in the area, and also cooks down in her basement kitchen. Perhaps you've just not run across her OR perhaps some nasty swamp creature came and carried her off. ;)
Kevonski Mar 6, 2015 @ 2:41pm
Would love to see a Lakeview version of this mod.
mpotto2001 Feb 18, 2015 @ 11:28am
This is a great mod but Gertrude and her husband don't show up. Right now it's just some creepy kid living alone. The carriage doesn't show up either.

Would disabling and enabling the mod work? Would that cause any problems?
Ticklefeather  [author] Nov 24, 2014 @ 2:33am
@ Cacodemon Thanks for the screenshots! What a great armor piece. Gotta love random, leveled loot.
CacoSteven Nov 23, 2014 @ 4:14pm
Ah, I see what you mean. Perhaps a warning in the description would suffice. You literally have to look at the very, VERY bottom to activate the node:

I'm using Windstad Manor as my family home for Sylgja and my mother-in-law steward Annekke Crag-Jumper for roleplaying. Fits perfectly considering both are miners (one being a corundum miner).

From the chest in your mine. Valdimar just got an upgrade!

Look forward to using more of your mods. Keep up the awesome work!
Ticklefeather  [author] Nov 23, 2014 @ 2:05pm
@ Cacodemon Ok, I've had a poke around the mine in the CK. It seems that I've rotated that mine node in a weird way. It does work but the mouse over location is at the very bottom. Mouse over the fern at the ground level and you'll find the mining message.

Why you didn't think to look in the fern before mining is beyond me! Fern checking is one of the first things learned in mining school. (hehe just kidding!!)
Ticklefeather  [author] Nov 23, 2014 @ 1:44pm
@ Cacodemon Thanks for the kind words! And for the bug report. That's not good. I'll have to have a look at that.
CacoSteven Nov 23, 2014 @ 1:43pm
By the way, just thought I'd point out the only bug I've seen with this mod. It's nothing major, but one of your corundum veins simply won't work. I've tried everything. Disable/enable, whacking it with my pickaxe, and resetting my play TAI. The vein simply doesn't register. To the right of my crosshair:

CacoSteven Nov 23, 2014 @ 1:38pm
Yeah, that's the reason I chose your mod. I like simple, lore-friendly, and immersive mods that fit in with the game. I saw that Fortified Windstad Manor mod and it's just way too over-the-top. Currently I'm using this mod with Windstad Manor as my Dawnguard player's home.

I think I'm feeling somewhat insecure with my Manor's protection is because of ASIS, which result in 3 bandits attacking to 9 bandits. Maybe I'll assign Windstad as home for a couple of my followers with AFT.

By the way, I've been checking out your other mods, such as the Whiterun Thane Hall and the Riften farm house, and I love them! Your mods are right up my alley. Not over-the-top. lore-friendly, immersive, and don't cause CTDs when you approach them because they don't look like something out of Lord of the Rings and don't have a butt-load of messy scripting. I plan to use the Riften farm one for my thieves guild and Stormcloak sympathetic civil war character.
Ticklefeather  [author] Nov 23, 2014 @ 1:13pm
@ Cacodemon I'm glad you've found this mod useful. And great thoughts and suggestions.

They are living on the ragged edge of the world out there with the frozen sea on one side and the marsh land on the other. But I didn't want to make the area too fortified. There is already a crazy popular mod that fortifies Winstad and so I went in another direction.

When I play I try to make a follower the steward that way the Huscarl just does guard duty. And then of course I do my best to keep all drauger and giants away when I'm home (they don't spawn when the player isn't there anyway).

Also, if you use Skvindt's Windstad Mine mod, there are plenty of friendlies in the area.
CacoSteven Nov 23, 2014 @ 12:02pm
Been using this mod. It helps to liven the place up some and the extra merchants don't hurt (mainly because of Morthal's lack of quality merchants). However, if there's one thing it could use for improvement is some form of added guard(s).

I think instead of making the carriage driver the husband of Mrs. Greyweather, Mr. Greyweather should perhaps be a retired adventurer with respectable gear he found during his adventures and with his own patrol of the grounds. Maybe gear up the husband orc with some more battle-ready clothes instead of rags. Not something over-the-top like ebony or anything, but something more believeable like some light armor.

Or, have a small guard house or barracks that can be purchased through the steward to purchase a few patrolling Morthal guards.

It just seems weird for some defenseless people to be living out in the middle of nowhere next to a draugr-infested crypt lol.

Just some thoughts...
Ticklefeather  [author] Oct 14, 2014 @ 1:13am
@ ciucc3llone Those are great suggestions but I think I'll leave this mod as finished.

@ myownterms66 Yes! I'm so glad this and Windstad Mine work well together.
myownterms66 Oct 12, 2014 @ 1:24pm
im adding this with the windstad mine now ive got a town :D
