For people wanting Guards On Your Home, I googled and found an existing mod specifically for Hearthfire homes. I picked the basic version to test and, so far, that works fine.
@ Everyone else...the poor driver's kid is "playing in the dirt" or so the idle marker says. :D I wish I could script him to play games with our adopted children but that is way more than I am able to do. Just don't leave him alone with Meeko. ;)
I was wondering if I might be totally rude and ask for a friend for the Khajiit, he just seems so lonely on his own, and it would give more money to them to buy things ?
Also I have the same concern as 'toosoon2u' the kid hangs around and just stabs the ground, or ??? I don't adopt kids as I prefer to wander and sort out the province. I did not remember they were the carriage drivers family, I will make sure I get it. Thank you. Be well and please, keep on modding thank you so much . Cheers
@ conorboy27 I use another person's mod for Lakeview so I don't think I'll make my own changes there. I'm glad you like this one though.
Would disabling and enabling the mod work? Would that cause any problems?

I'm using Windstad Manor as my family home for Sylgja and my mother-in-law steward Annekke Crag-Jumper for roleplaying. Fits perfectly considering both are miners (one being a corundum miner).
From the chest in your mine. Valdimar just got an upgrade!

Look forward to using more of your mods. Keep up the awesome work!
Why you didn't think to look in the fern before mining is beyond me! Fern checking is one of the first things learned in mining school. (hehe just kidding!!)

I think I'm feeling somewhat insecure with my Manor's protection is because of ASIS, which result in 3 bandits attacking to 9 bandits. Maybe I'll assign Windstad as home for a couple of my followers with AFT.
By the way, I've been checking out your other mods, such as the Whiterun Thane Hall and the Riften farm house, and I love them! Your mods are right up my alley. Not over-the-top. lore-friendly, immersive, and don't cause CTDs when you approach them because they don't look like something out of Lord of the Rings and don't have a butt-load of messy scripting. I plan to use the Riften farm one for my thieves guild and Stormcloak sympathetic civil war character.
They are living on the ragged edge of the world out there with the frozen sea on one side and the marsh land on the other. But I didn't want to make the area too fortified. There is already a crazy popular mod that fortifies Winstad and so I went in another direction.
When I play I try to make a follower the steward that way the Huscarl just does guard duty. And then of course I do my best to keep all drauger and giants away when I'm home (they don't spawn when the player isn't there anyway).
Also, if you use Skvindt's Windstad Mine mod, there are plenty of friendlies in the area.
I think instead of making the carriage driver the husband of Mrs. Greyweather, Mr. Greyweather should perhaps be a retired adventurer with respectable gear he found during his adventures and with his own patrol of the grounds. Maybe gear up the husband orc with some more battle-ready clothes instead of rags. Not something over-the-top like ebony or anything, but something more believeable like some light armor.
Or, have a small guard house or barracks that can be purchased through the steward to purchase a few patrolling Morthal guards.
It just seems weird for some defenseless people to be living out in the middle of nowhere next to a draugr-infested crypt lol.
Just some thoughts...
@ myownterms66 Yes! I'm so glad this and Windstad Mine work well together.
