its ok, was having trouble finding it but have managed now. Made another game with the rules i wanted and copied them over to the original save

Yes. "The stress modifier can be changed for the player and the AI separately."

is there a game rule to only apply to player? I would oove to let the AI have a easier time, but I would like to handle the stress of stress.

That sounds good to me. My mods are made to make the game harder, not easier. If you lower the difficulty level in game you can get better opinion modifiers making your vassals and court like you more. As you can see here: https://ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Game_rule There will most likely always be a rival no matter what you do, as there should.

There are many annoying side effects from courtiers developing stress coping traits, especially if they are family members. They'll get irritable and likely to become my rival. This is especially evident when my realm gets very large and there's a lot of fabricating hook/seduce etc going on in my court.

Are courtiers really that important however that you need them to handle stress? You can just invite new ones. If a courtier has max stress it does not really impact a collapse of your country.

I would like an option to lower courtiers (and only courtiers) stress by like 50~90%. Landed rulers already have means to combat stress but it's just as easy to accumulate stress as an unlanded courtier.

This is a mod that I've thought about making for myself but never got around to it. Vanilla Stress for the player is just too generous and managing it is easy. Thank you for the mod man.
