Man I had no idea what these people were talking about, and they were talking about minorities being loud

So I googled it and why on earth did you make a noose in a tree prop. What other thing is that supposed to symbolize outside of lynchings? I can try and think its a cry for help? But its a noose specifically on a tree and that has racial implications for sure.

i mean... why on earth would you make a noose prop in the first place? and then throw a massive tantrum when it got taken down? i love all your content, and i doubt you'll ever read this anyway, but dear lord, this is all completely unnecessary

Secondly, whatever your ultimate decision is/was, I would like to thank you for all of the assets and mods you have released, and I would also like to thank you more for not nuking your workshop when you decided to step back. I know of at least one other creator here who nuked their entire workshop when they decided to leave, and it caused a lot of broken savegames and headaches for those who were subscribed to their content. I plan to use a lot of your assets in the city I'm building (particularly your Railway series of assets), and I would have been devastated if one day I opened up my savegame only to find everything a broken mess because you deleted all of your assets from the workshop.

Seriously, Valve needs to give us a way to back up subscribed workshop content locally...

Ps. Just as an afterthought:

Ronyx69, if you are reading this, I do hope you can reconsider and keep on making assets for Cities Skylines. Perhaps you can continue using the workshop for more "benign" assets and mods; for those that people might misconstrue the wrong way, you might want to set up an off-workshop location to release those. I have seen a lot of creators who have a Patreon where they release upcoming assets early for supporters, for example.

That doesn't mean I will always side with Valve on content moderation of the workshop here; far from it. I have seen quite a number of ripped and stolen assets on the workshop as of late that have remained up for ages, and many of the malicious mods that a particular person made (not naming names here; those who have been around long enough or heard/read about it will know who I'm talking about) are still up and still can be subscribed for some reason. While I don't blame Valve for removing that asset of Ronyx69's, at least have some consistency when it comes to moderating other aspects of the workshop as well, come on.

Okay, I might be playing a bit of a Devil's Advocate here, but I need to be fair: given the kinds of significance and symbolism that thing has (especially in the US), I don't exactly blame Valve for removing the item. I doubt Ronyx69 had any ill will when he made that asset, but given all the weight it has, it would not had been a good look on Valve's part had they left it up and let someone who might have taken it the wrong way see it. Valve wanted to play it safe, and unfortunately you got caught in their dragnet I guess.

@Ronyx69 - It'll be a shame to lose you but you need to do what you need to for you. You are already well passed legendary status, and thus most people will respect any choice you make. I will suggest the system excellent creators like Reaper use, upping one asset to the Workshop as a headliner, then sharing variants behind a Paywall. Going 100% invisible no one new will find you, and the minority win again; if you are going to profit you may as well let it benefit you as much as is possible. Much respect, BBB

Thanks for everything you have given this community. Arguably the best creator in CS and the game will be infinitely poorer with your departure. You always made some of the best Japanese assets too, so it's a real shame. Thanks for being the bigger person and keeping all of your old work up. Sucks that idiots have to bring politics into this source of joy for a lot of people and this is why we can't have nice things. A certain group of hypersensitive Yanks will always play the race/victim card for anything that offends them even in the slightest way. They do it IRL and they do it on the internet. Hope you find something else that makes you happy and if you ever open a patreon tons of us will love to support you.

So bummed to see you no longer upload. Best wishes. Your creations are some of the best on the workshop regardless of what a vocal and silly minority seem to believe.

It's really annoying that someone like you, who did so much for the community of this game, is driven away from the steam workshop. I am looking forward to your alternative plans and will take part with a membership if I am able to afford it.

i will never get along, why so many dont hit the thumb up button, if they down an asset from someone of whom they already did get great assets before, so this situation dont get stated at all. and foremost, if i really dislike the work of someone, i just go on looking for something else, but i would never downvote....how small must someones balls be, if i find it entretaining or satisfying, to decredit someones assets.
