So far this mod is great, looks amazing, plays pretty good, so much detail on the smallest things and honestly right now the only things i could recommend for the future of this mod is heroes and more in depth unit types.But so far this mod is one of the best mods in my eyes.

I'm almost done planning for Separatist, Republic, and Rebel rosters and mechanics, which I've been doing on and off while in the long season of study busyness (as I have been for a while now). In a couple of weeks I'll be able to get back into this and start implementing the plan.

For sure :). Various other projects and commitments have been pretty full on for a while now (but that's just normal).

I must admit I do also get distracted with new experimentations: I've added automatic fleet battles in the skies (including Star Destroyers, frigates, and continuous dogfights) that are optional and mostly background, but the fighters will occasionally sweep along the ground and certain abilities will interact with it, such as pilots calling down brief airstrikes or orbital strikes from capital ships.

I'm thinking of organizing some method of showcasing, probably a fairly informal discord and youtube. I'll get the discord started soon (or at least in the next few weeks).

I appreciate that, thank you! A lot to work on, a lot of improvements being done.... it continues to be an excellent learning experience.

As it happens, I am currently working on an indie game with a team. It's a splitscreen/multiplayer starfighter combat where we've focused on making duels really dynamic and dramatic (though team battles and free-for-alls will be in it too). We opened a discord recently; any here are welcome to join, no pressure though - its a different genre!

Genuinely one of the most innovate mods out here. I really appreciate how ambitious this mod is even when it suffers from implementation issues:
Such as having to micromanage infantry..
Vehicles getting stuck etc.
Still a great mod... I hope you get the chance to put these skills to use in a professional or indie setting someday.

Quick update with good news (though not on par with the Easter good news): got some time and made great progress, as Sambonie believed. Base building is now fully working, and a lot of other things have come together too.

OK, but unfortunately slowed by a strange AI problem where it just refuses to activate certain goals, despite constantly doing another one which has less priority but the same code otherwise. The Empire roster is done, including buildings and heroes, and all the other rosters are about 40% done. Once modes and AI are finally working, I intend to post some Empire v Empire matches.

The full Empire roster is almost complete (others are half-complete), including for base building, and heroes are the current project to add. Balancing melee and force powers right is a fun challenge! The Emperor will have even his royal guards.

One of the few things that would make this already absolutely fantastic mod even better, would be perhaps heroes for the empire and rebellion or jedi knights and dark side acolytes for the republic and the Separatists, but that is probably me being a too greedy ^^;

Good question. FreeMode isn't in the game yet, that's what's coming up in the update. I see how that might be confusing given the description, sorry, so I might change that to make it more clear.

Good question! Pretty much yes. Everything has been reworked to make use of the vanilla landing zone system including base building (with units built at structures automatically landing nearby). This helps with the AI as well as lets the population cap actually work properly! While I'm very pleased with all the new mechanics I managed to work in, I've found that the closer their functioning is to vanilla the better.

I will also have non base-building game modes where you build and land troops like in vanilla. I wasn't planning on having a visible and destroyable base for those, instead fighting over capture points. A bit like Skirmish in the current version, except that you land troops. But as it wouldn't be too hard to do, a pure vanilla game mode might well be a good idea in addition.
