@untolddead - there are some mods that stay in your cache and can affect your game even though they are uninstalled or not active. Reinstalling is one way (probably the longest) to clear the cache. Glad it works for you now!

I reinstalled total war and it works now. Don't know what was wrong.

@untolddead - mod still works fine for me. Must be a conflict with other mods you are using or you could need to clear your cache?

I even tried changing to the 1.7 betta and still didn't work. I don't know what has happened.

@Dr. Moist - Yeah, I'm sorry. At this point I have no further possibilities to offer. I could understand if it was only this mod, but if Aoife's mod is not working too, then something is wrong at a basic level.

Turned off my AV during this entire process. Ran with no mods at all, both via the Workshop and via manual install. Still stock bandits, no different names or anything, but with female voices. I'm giving up as this sounds a very "my machine" problem and I can't put my finger on it, but it feels like every TW is becoming a pain like this ever since Kaedrin's launcher got nuked. Thank you again so much for your time and this mod!

Yeah, there's some hubhub about some antiviruses picking up on a supposed trojan casdet!rfn, which affects variants.pack in 3K and some other TW titles. My AV (Bitdefender) didn't have any file/warning, but I'm reinstalling it again to triple check.

@Dr. Moist - So if you just reinstalled, that might be the problem. Check the web for references to anti-virus programs automatically deleting one of the games databases after falsely identifying it as a trojan.

No, they're all still called Peasant <x>, Bandit <x>, etc. Unit cards aren't changed, no names, still vanilla outfits in game.

I'm finding it weird because I played a bunch of this on release, then quit, and did a fresh install last week where I basically only played with the 15 TPY mod, which I even disabled for all of these "tests" to be 100% sure. I even tried manually installing the mods and forcing the userscript to run them, instead of only the vanilla mod manager (for some reason, Kaedrin's isn't working anymore).

That's what I found weird - female voices, but stock units otherwise, which made me think DLC, because I really only do own Yellow Turbans and the FLC.

@Dr. Moist - Oh, another thought. When you go to recruit more units do you see different names from stock for some of them?

@Dr. Moist - Pretty sure there are no DLC dependencies. If Queen Aoife's mod isn't working either then something is conflicting. Her mod changes the "Bandit" units to women for all three of the bandit factions and is less complex. The fact that the sound changes to female voices is a little confusing though, as this means the mods are active/working? Do the units you are seeing remain in stock outfits?

I've ran it again, with no other mods, and also ran Queen Aoife's mod. Both have the same effect, even when tested isolated - male bandits with female voices, both the starting ones with Zheng Jiang's army, and any others I recruit afterwards. At this stage I'm really guessing it's some DLC dependency.

Thank you. I'll give it another couple rounds of testing then. Is the mod dependant on any DLC? I know a couple who don't list it but won't work unless you own certain DLCs - I'm reaching but I imagine it could also potentially be that, since I only own the Yellow Turban DLC.

@Dr. Moist - Sorry you are having problems. I just tested it and seems to be working fine. Due to game restrictions, the units will not be available until turn 2. They won't automatically update, you will need to recruit them. Hope this helps!

I've tested this with no other mods and it doesn't seem to be working currently? At least, nothing can be noticed in the initial Zheng Jiang campaign battle. In that particular "test", only the Bandit Gang and Hidden Axes speak with a female voice, none of the other units (Bandit Hunters and Bandit Warriors) do so, and all of the units mentioned remain male.

Please advise.

@Queen Aoife - There are some female general mods, but no female led factions. Guess you'll have to fire up your RPFM again! :steamhappy:

@Melphiz - You should join one of the discords like "Da Modding Clan" and you can ask questions and start discussions where there are many people who can help you out. Sadly, the comments section on steam mods is not really convenient for having discussions...

Interesting: If I use a mod like "Player Only Army Buff" that gives faction buffs to players and start a new campaign, even the WW units are silent. If I add that mod later during the campaign, voice works.
So maybe there is something in your mod, too that somehow causes the game to behave like that - for whatever reason.

So, I have read that foot soldiers are silent (it really bugs me, to be honest). What is the difference here compared to the "Women Warrior units for players" https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2795726321 mod regarding voice? In that mod every female soldier responds.
You may want to check (I have not seen anything outstanding in the land_units and main_units table) and see if voice can be enabled for every unit here, too. That would be highly appreciated.

@Melphiz - tables can be overwritten if you use the same key and use the priority symbols (!!, @@) for the table. If you wish to change a key though, you have to datacore. It is generally frowned upon as you point out. But as I needed to create a new group for the other bandit factions, this was the only way to do it. As I mentioned, you are unlikely to find mods which conflict with this one on this basis, as no one has pointed it out in well over a year...

Ah ok, is there some source where I can read if a table can be overwritten or not?
Anyway thanks for the information, I guess I will switch to the KMM instead of CA launcher to see if conflicts exists and can be merged if so.

Melphiz - yes the table is datacored. You can't "overwrite" info in some tables, you can add new info, but not change existing. As I needed to separate Zheng Jiang from the other bandit factions, I had to create a new group and datacore the original file. It would only interfere with other mods that also datacore this table, not with any mods that just add a few lines.

Hi, is it intended that the complete"data__" in 'campaign_unit_permissions_requirements_tables' exists next to your custom table?
I see there are changes, I'm only confused as to why not separating the changes instead of overwriting the full table. (Depending on other mods changing this table content - the load order becomes more important then now.)

@StopHoardingHandSanitizer - yeah, this one was quite a lot of work (read 100s of hours!). But she is a faction leader and so was able to be separated out. Individual female generals are a different situation. It's probably doable, but I'm not currently so inclined

@StopHoardingHandSanitizer - Thank you for the comment. I take it you are referring to the Unique Unit for Generals mods rather than this one? I've done mods along those lines for Sun Ren and Diaochan so far.... If no, it would be extremely difficult to create an all women roster for an individual female general, but worth considering!

I have literally been pondering for a few days now wanting to start a new TW: 3K campaign where I only focus on female generals and now I encounter this mod. This is fantastic. Gonna start a new campaign immediately with this mod.

@skm unless they changed something, they do get the garrison, but not the imperial units. It's not a huge deal tbh. AI Jiang doesn't ever declare emperor, and if I'm playing her, I have no trouble defending my capitol.

@Prkl8r - ! actually tried to implement this, but gave up in the end. As the mod is not save game compatible, I had to play 1 campaign without my mod all the way through, and then endless campaigns with my mod (a different one each time I made a change) to see if it worked.
The bandits get access to the units you mentioned, but I'm pretty sure they don't get the Emperor garrison, nor do they get Imperial units.. That doesn't make sense if they become Emperor, but is what it is....

@skm I did find one thing, idk if you'd call it a bug. w/o the mod, when you declare emperor, I'm pretty sure your capitol's garrison gets replaced with defenders of earth and protectors of heaven. That does't happen with the mod.

I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure that happened before when you declare emperor.

@Prkl8r - The mod you reference will probably work with the other bandit factions with mine enabled, but will likely not work for Zheng Jiang. It's entirely possible that it won't work at all...

I was going to try this mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2483249302 that lets northern army units work with bandits, but it doesn't seem to. I'm wondering if it has to do with this mod?

@Prkl8r - thanks for the test and results. It probably has something to do with how the soundpacks are constructed. As women are basically only women generals, CA probably left out a lot of sound loops that the male units have. Having one soldier (general) breathing would be fine, but in a unit of 120+ it's annoying... You're right though, nothing I can do about it!

You might also notice that only mounted female units give a call back, those on foot are silent...
