The problem of converting a car from rfactor to rfactor 2 is in the tires and in a more speed in rfactor 2 for the same engine (for unknown reason). These cars, in real life and in rfactor 1 have top speeds around 180 km/h which is not the case in rfactor 2 and which is innacurate. To have a much more accurate speed I added these two lines in the [engine] section of the hdv file:

GeneralTorqueMult=0.80
GeneralPowerMult=0.80

With this the car is wonderful.

Yes, the sound update is what made the wind noise too loud. I need to fix that and maybe add a better tire as an option.
Doc Slappy Sep 7, 2022 @ 10:26am
Great fun little cars. Thanks for doing this. :steamhappy: Just one small thing, I don't know if this is a result of the recent rf2 sound updates, or if the cars are like this in real life, but the engine sounds are really quiet compared to wind/road noise. Still a great car though.

Any chance of a more modern take w/ current SCCA Hoosier slick spec tires? (Everything else would be the same)

Been racing these at the F3 Fanatics for a little while now...Huge fun

Love these guys, so much intense racing with low Horsepower

Magic Cheers Strava, lots of Fun

Thanks Strava, I'm enjoying this more and more!

Just added an OLD YouTube vid for the rF1 version. Just for a historical reference.
Plz jump to 5:03 for the short bit on the FVees. ( I can't seem to get the "jump to" time stamp to work )

Hi Bryan. I have been working on this problem for awhile.
The latest update should fix it.
Bryan Birtwell [SR4L] Apr 3, 2021 @ 9:36pm
I absolutely love these cars! I do notice that, quite often, when I go off the track, it's like my car is suspended off the ground... no tire contact with the dirt? Looking forward to future updates! Look for these cars to show up on the "1 F3 Fanatics!" server.

I just love these cars!

Wow. Raced FV with SCCA from 1977-1979, a few times with Bill Noble. Early days of Zero-Roll. Will have to try it.

Hi Denis. Thx for the feedback. Yes, increasing the caster does ( and should ) increase the centering. I have been working with so many other values I had not done any tests with casterr.
With FFB multi at 100 and caster at 4 the Vee feels right to me.
It IS a very light car. At only 1000 lbs and running on narrow hard rubber tires it would feel quite light at 100 mph.

Strava i tested much better now and im sure that you can make it more better in future. Now its possible feel the "auto center" make turns but in my thrustmaster T300 i have to put 180% in ffb multi. in studio 367 formula 3 1966 100% in ffb multi its my reference with t300 device. Im noted other thing... to feel the autocenter was necessary change the Caster in Chassis setup... values under 3 kill the autocenter feeling.
Strava  [author] Mar 28, 2021 @ 6:59am
Hi Denis. I have fixed the steering so that the centering spring is no longer required.
I have some more fine tuning to do and will have an update soon.
Denis Takistani Mar 28, 2021 @ 12:55am
strava i reapeat did you make a very good job but will be better if you call help from guys from Studio 367 forum to implement normal solution of ffb standards. if all modders assumes "solutions" like ignore RF2 signals and uses "these" or "that" values from driver will be a real "babel Tower".
Strava  [author] Mar 27, 2021 @ 4:39pm
Hi Keeper1st. Yes the suspension is much stiffer than it was in rF1.
I am looking into it.
Keeper1st Mar 27, 2021 @ 4:27pm
Is there and extra zero on the suspension stiffness? Seems about 10x stiffer than I would expect.
Denis Takistani Mar 25, 2021 @ 6:32pm
Strava, try contact in Studio 367 forum. You will see that is not correct use "centering spring" forced by steering wheel software driver. if you use your steering wheel will receive falses informations from rfactor2. Please see this link. Mistakes about correct use of softwares drives is very common and cause a lot of "problems" in simulation https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/guide-optimal-ffb-settings-for-rfactor-2-the-key-to-being-in-the-zone-d.42931/

Brilliant mod. Glad to see someone has put effort into recreating a brilliant motorsport form.

@ Ned52
Upshift between 6k & 7k
Downshift at 4k OR LESS
Jon.R Mar 25, 2021 @ 1:37pm
very interesting and deverted mod, fun physics, it hurts not to have strength in the ffd. It is solved by putting rfactor the ffd at 150%, a shame, if you can adjust it and it will be great! Thank you very much for the work
Ned52 Mar 25, 2021 @ 12:39pm
Too bad not having access to the power file because it seems having too much torque and it is very difficult to downshift without spinning.
Xzanman Mar 25, 2021 @ 10:42am
it was the cornering feel that put me off,i also use a G25 but without the centering spring, i have never needed it...
Strava  [author] Mar 25, 2021 @ 7:36am
I have a G25 wheel which has an option for a "centering spring". With this on ( and I have always had it on ) The steering feels good. With it off, you are right, it has no centering forces. I will look into it. In the meantime, if your wheel has a centering spring option try turning it on.
dumont Mar 25, 2021 @ 6:31am
i also felt the same Denis described. but nice mod.
atomed Mar 25, 2021 @ 2:54am
Fantastic job, enjoyed so much driving them. Anyway I felt the same Denis described. With some ffb tuning and a driver animation this one could become pure gold.
Denis Takistani Mar 25, 2021 @ 2:40am
Nice mod Strava, i did test with T300 e fanatec 911 turbo S wheels in Guapore Track because has a lot of informations send by track to steering wheels. Tires was very very good behavior in ForceFeedBack i felt all bumps, Tarmac diferences of textures etc.. but something is wrong with "auto center" steering wheel behavior that dont have "resistence" when i make turns. I did try increasing minimum force and ffb specific multi 3x values but without sucess. I hope that you make news update and surely will be a mod that my server will running it! Thank you for your excelent job.
FlexyDemon Mar 25, 2021 @ 2:34am
Absolutely great for racing against each other. A true test to your adaptive skills as a driver.
HarleyDavidsonfx Mar 24, 2021 @ 6:58pm
Thank you.
I had a great time driving these at Blackwood and the Nurburgring Grand Prix. I ran 4 AI around the tracks and it was a great time. These little beasts can get quite light on the front end at speed . Correct throttle and braking are critical to get weight transfer on and off the front end while entering and exiting turns.Once I got the hang of this car I literally thrashed around the GP track.
Thanks for the fun.:steamhappy:
Xzanman Mar 24, 2021 @ 5:33pm
they are not...
Xzanman Mar 24, 2021 @ 10:54am
cool,I hope they are as fun as they look. thanks for the mod
