thanks for this model..even though I've set the general liftoff settings to imperial the speed and height in the osd still isn't showing in feet and mph respectively..is there any other way to get the dji fpv drone osd to show feet and mph? thanks

After downloading dji f[v dlc do i need to restart the game in order to select that drone? Or where will it be available in the game to play with?

HOW DO I Download the DJI FPV Quad for Liftoff? Sorry, I'm 58 yrs old and not a gamer, just Drone Geek
FallinJan Mar 15, 2022 @ 6:19am
If compare this workshop with the official DJI FPV DLC, which one is closer to the real DJI FPV? I feel the official one have more powerful thrust and turning speed. I want to practice the closer one to get ready for getting a real DJI FPV

@alan61333, you´re correct. It doesn´t. There is no DJI frame in any other sim than DJI´s own. But it mimics everything as close to the real thing as possible :)
alan61333 Oct 15, 2021 @ 1:15pm
it doesn't look like the dji fpv drone at all:steamfacepalm:
TimboSlice Sep 24, 2021 @ 7:02am
Awesome, glad i could be part of something haha.
I was just pretty confused and wanted to make sure i wasn't missing something.
Thank you!
BlueCheeseDK  [author] Sep 24, 2021 @ 4:45am
@TimboSlice, i would love to take credit for the graph, but i didn´t make it :) But it´s very useful indeed.

- Thank you for telling me it downloads with max rate of 800. That´s a mistake on my end. That´s what i fly the DJI FPV drone with, and not what it came with.
I just pushed out an update to this quad, and set the rates to be what the DJI FPV drone came with.. Sorry about that, and thank you for noticing it. :) Your drone should update automatically next time you launch Liftoff.
Just in case, i´ll write the rates here too:

RC Rate: 1.01
Super Rate: 0.52
RC Expo: 0.21

That should match the what the DJI FPV drone comes with irl..
TimboSlice Sep 23, 2021 @ 12:39pm
I'm wondering a couple things tho, you have found the ideal rates that match the default DJI FPV settings right? I've noticed the max rate that you found is 800, but the drone comes with like a max rate of 420 for roll, pitch and yaw? Did your drone come with a max rate of 800?
TimboSlice Sep 23, 2021 @ 12:14pm
Thank you, I'l have a look at that!
Also your graph makes it really easy to convert actual dji FPV rates to betaflight, perfect for practice and trying out different rates.
BlueCheeseDK  [author] Sep 23, 2021 @ 11:14am
@TimboSlice, Thank you.. :)
Yes, the tuning on this quad, should match what the DJI FPV drone have IRL. Not in numbers, but in performance.
Understanding pid tuning is a lengthy process, and it took me a couple of years to fully get the grasp on it.
I would suggest watching "Chris Rosser", and/or "UAV Tech" on youtube. They are both pid tuning pioneers. :)
TimboSlice Sep 23, 2021 @ 10:38am
Great work! Do you have an idea how betaflight PID's should translate to this drone?
I have trouble understanding PID tuning, but it seems to be default with this drone you made?

Great work, thank you very much!
BlueCheeseDK  [author] Aug 17, 2021 @ 5:17pm
@antony just click subscribe on the drone, at it will download it.. You´ll find it on the drone selection screen, if you click on "downloads" at the top :)

Here´s the "guide" on how to match the old betaflight rate and actual rates.

@bluesgeek part 2/2

Liftoff unfortunately have not implemented "actual rates" yet.. So to get matching rates in Liftoff as in real life on your DJI drone, you have to convert them. I´ve made somewhat of a guide on how to do that.

When you download this quad, the rates in Liftoff will already match the rates the DJI drone have in real life. Already made the conversion for you :)

Feel free to join my discord lounge, where this quad have it´s own discussion topic..
Definately the fastest way to reach out to me if you have any fpv related questions (both irl and Liftoff). :)

@bluesgeek part 1/2
Superrate is a combination of rc rate and expo, but mostly affect the rc rate.

The issue with it is that it´s confusing, and both rc rate and expo are somehow linked together via superrate.
- If you add superrate, both max rate and expo will change.
On top of that, you can add expo separately. Very weird way to do it.

That´s why DJI and Betaflight 4.2 use "actual rates".
They are much more logical to finetune to you preference.

In "actual rates" center sensitivity and max rate are separate, which makes it a lot easier.

So if you know you want 700 degrees/sec at full stick deflection, and 300 around the center, you just enter that. Want some expo ? Add some.. :)
Very logical and easy to understand.

bluesgeek Jul 9, 2021 @ 12:44am
Thank you for building this drone. Can you help understand how we should consider the influence of Super Rate, since DJI doesn't have this? It adds a curve, similar to the Expo function. So there are to ways to make the curve. But they are different.

Thank you for simulating this bad hand like this :steamhappy:
BlueCheeseDK  [author] Jun 7, 2021 @ 3:43am
@Pussy Leader, Interesting website.. I´ll check it out later :)
- I think, and i hope, that the Liftoff developers will implement Actual rates, hopefully soon.. I´ve requested it, and waiting for a response :) I think it would help a lot of people, both those flying betaflight 4.2 and the DJI FPV drone..
@temati Jun 7, 2021 @ 2:30am
Thank you! You nailed it.

I've tried and it's possible to convert rates if you are very passionate.
Just a thought, maybe we could somehow solve that equations with some degree of precision via https://www.wolframalpha.com/ instead of manually trying to brute force a solution.

Here´s a link to the actual rates converter. Please play around with it, and get back to me, if you find rates that match the DJI fpv drone better than mine, and i´ll take a look.
What you do, is put in the dji rates in the "Actual Rates" and move the Betaflight sliders to get it to match.

LINK TO ACTUAL RATES CONVERTER ! [desmos.com]

Later today, i might push these rates out as an update to the DJI FPV drone i have created, to get it more accurate.

Thank you for your question.. I learned stuff, while hopefully helping more people :) Win win..
Happy flying <3

@Pussy Leader: Sorry for long post :) will be in 2 comments.

I looked into it, and actually asked Joshua Bardwell. Betaflight developers have confirmed that the DJI FPV rates, are the Betaflight "Actual rates" introduced in BF 4.2.
Liftoff does not use Actual Rates, so what we have to do, is convert the rates from Actual Rates, to normal BF rates, so we can put them into Liftoff..

I´ve converted the rates for you, according to the imgur of the DJI rates you sent me.
It won´t ever be 100% exact, but it´s pretty close. Here´s a screenshot of the two rate lines.
The red curve is the Actual rates (dji rates), and the purple line is the betaflight/liftoff rates..

SCREENSHOT OF RATES CONVERTER [i.imgur.com]

So what i´ve found to be good rates to match the dji fpv drone, is:
RC Rate: 1.24
Super Rate: 0.69
Expo: 0.35

@temati Jun 5, 2021 @ 9:11am
I'm sorry, but in Dji FPV we have three settings (Center sensitivity, Max Rate and Expo). In simulator I see how to change two of them. Example: https://imgur.com/a/Vu0s454

So I'm trying to find corresponding settings in Liftoff.
[Dji FPV - Simulator]

Center sensitivity - ?
Max Rate - Max velocity
Expo - RC Expo
BlueCheeseDK  [author] Jun 5, 2021 @ 6:14am
@Pussy Leader, Np. :) Yea, they´re found as i explained before, or from the workbench. :)

To make the stick center less sensitive, add more RC expo.. That´s basically the center sensitivity setting :)
@temati Jun 5, 2021 @ 1:30am
@BlueCheeseDK, thank you! (I've tried to change them from tools menu but no luck).
Just one thing, I wasn't been able to find 'Center sensitivity' setting there : (
BlueCheeseDK  [author] Jun 4, 2021 @ 11:54pm
@Pussy Leader, Easiest way to adjust the rates to your liking, would be to press ESC, then click on flight controller settings. You will be asked to make a copy of the drone, if you want to adjust anything. Just click ok :) Remember to click save, after making changes to rates, and give it 10 minuttes to get used to, before determining if you like the new rates or not.
Happy flying <3
@temati Jun 4, 2021 @ 2:18pm
How can we adjust expo and max rate for (yaw/pitch/roll)? Thx!
BlueCheeseDK  [author] Jun 2, 2021 @ 1:01pm
Thank you for your feedback, trekad143.
I will take a look at the pids and rates again tomorrow. But it should be pretty close. Power and weight have been adjusted to be as close as i could get it. I will spend some time with it tomorrow, and see if i can dial it in more. :)
Please be aware, that running Liftoff on underpowered pc´s, can mess with the physics and change the feel of the quad. Might not be an issue for you, just wanted to throw that out there :)
Happy flying.. <3

Thanks for your effort
but as a owner of dji fpv is not looks the same to me at all its a bit heavy and drifting so much
