This mod, for some reason, turns all M7B/S models into floating error signs (and the firing sound to a shrill screech), skin on/off, shared materials on/off, doesnt matter. I've tried everything (that I can think of) except digging into code because thats way over my head

I cannot say that the past models looked and were animated badly.Because I didn't feel any discomfort playing with them.
I have never looked into them that deeply.
I like your work and I respect your labors.
But nevertheless, I do not understand why it was necessary to delete the old ones? Did they get in the way?
Could you lay out the old models at least on some kind of "l4dmaps" in this case?
so now the H2A smgs use made from scratch Halo SMG animations, better mesh normals, smoothing groups, shaders, 2K textures, includes HUD icons, and gunshop signs. This'll apply to the H3 smgs which will use the 2K PBR MCC textures too.
Why delete models with medium graphic? Is very sad.
