I think the other things are down to personal choice. I would always welcome constructive criticism so thanks for that.
3 Years after making this mod I can see more wrong with it which I never thought of at the time and some things which I but noone else knows the reasons for. For example there should be some kind of fortification around the whole settlement but there is a large gap where the boats are, another option might be no fortification. The smelter should not be there because there is nothing to smelt, I should have added a mine or at least hidden the smelter. The large wooden area at the front is a bit empty.
If by a "smaller wall" you mean a lower wall it is the same as all other Orc settlements. If you mean less room at the back then it is that size to have room for animals, smelter, smithing, leaving a horse and hanging out.
You need to compare it with other Orc Settlements.
I assume that you mean your comment is "silly and stupid" although I cannot think why anyone would say that :)
Funny story with this Mod. I made an Orc character but could not find a nice place to live. I tried adding things to an existing settlement but it was terrible. So, I decide to make my own. By the time I finished this Mod my Orc had almost finished the game. I hardly used the place as an Orc but my next guy, a Nord, lived there.
The worst bits were the wooden decking over the water, Orcs kept falling off. In one spot everytime I tried to make the thing there was an invisible wall somewhere there. So, lots of wooden spikes plus some invisible walls and a couple of things placed where that bugged invisible wall is fixed it more or less. Next the AI, those pesky Orcs just refused to do most things, hence the fact that they do not take a lunch break!
