There is no token 'grab' point for the last segment/box of the Begin Turn column ( bottom left box in the turn sequence chart).

For War 1 on normal difficulty the Taliban starting Strength should be 7 instead of 6. On Normal difficulty Sandbox game the Rogue States and Adversaries get +1 to their strength per the Strength table on page 15 of WM5. the way it's printed It LOOKS like it just means Hamas, but per the designer that was just a poor formatting choice and the +1 applies to all the enemies in that section.

Excellent point, Ewalk! That's also the case for some of their other games on the TTS workshop as well. I actually really like this business model.
Ewalk Dec 8, 2024 @ 3:51pm
Just so yall know, you can buy the update kit and it'll come with the rulebook. GMT's site even calls out that the update kit is enough to play the game on TTS.
Hippyshake Dec 2, 2024 @ 7:09am
@Kethran I feel your frustration and how long it takes them to reprint games. I go to the Geek market instead of online auction sites. It's there for as low as $60 US, and there are copies available in multiple countries including new at the same price as GMT.
Kethran Nov 30, 2024 @ 12:22am
@binraider "support the developers and buy it". Have you been on their webpage lately? The game is out of print and the next edition has been "almost done" for over a year. I should know, I'm on the purchase list but at this point genuinely wondering if it'll ever be released again.

Get off your high horse, descend from your ivory tower and stop being a smug bastard. At this point the only way to get the game is to buy it off scalpers/resellers on ebay for outrageous prices.
Hippyshake Jan 28, 2024 @ 5:15pm
@cavalier281: That's a great point, and it's how I use this mod, too. It's much easier to flip between all the paper manuals than juggling pdfs and my position in them.
cavalier281 Jan 28, 2024 @ 4:04pm
This is great! I own the physical game but it's nice to have an option that I can easily set up and/or put away too. To those fussing about the lack of all of the rules and charts... I get where you are coming from as far as how that relates to many boardgames out there, but I think that this game would just be a NIGHTMARE to play in that fashion. I wouldn't even dream of playing this on TTS if I didn't have a lot of experience with the game already and even then I will always have all of my charts and booklets scattered over my desk as I play and that would be true even if the game provided them all to me.
Hippyshake Dec 19, 2023 @ 3:25pm
@abtoklas: You need to own Tabletop Simulator, then you can subscribe to this mod (Green button above) and it will be available to play in TTS.
abtoklas Dec 8, 2023 @ 2:26pm
ok i am new on steam and i have no clue how i can play MR PRESIDENT here? on the tts i already bought the tts but have no find the way to play on line can some one help me pls
Binraider Oct 24, 2023 @ 12:13pm
Oh my, the self entitled comments on this one. If you want to play the game, support the developer and buy it. TTS is just one means of playing it. Diddums to the whiners.
michael.mapa Oct 8, 2023 @ 6:41pm
Do you think they'll eventually release a full digital version like they did for Twilight Struggle and Labyrinth? I would have thought it'd be a no-brainer, what with all the people who'd like to play it but don't have the physical space, but then they have this TTS module and may be content to leave it at that...
packrat1984 Sep 25, 2023 @ 1:27am
Trying to friend you... I've done a few updates but won't upload... box+bgg addons, and GMT additional pdfs from their website....
elijahbak Sep 22, 2023 @ 4:36pm
Boy howdy am I ever glad that I own a physical copy of this game. It is a massively long game and needs to be left set up for days to complete.
Luke Sep 22, 2023 @ 11:39am
Finally something to shut up the cry babies.
Mankelor Sep 21, 2023 @ 2:03pm
GMT just announced a 2nd edition of the game. This means they're also selling an update pack that will include all the books you'll need to play on TTS. A cheap alternative for anyone interested in playing the game.

ice_strength Aug 31, 2023 @ 9:17am
Hi, i just started the sandbox scenario, there seem to be duplicate counters for all. Just wanted to check if there are any updates.
Comrade Beric Aug 19, 2023 @ 2:47pm
That's the point. It's brilliant, in a way. By making an "Official" but useless version of the game, they stifle the creation of an unofficial version by someone with a full copy of the game who wants to play it online, thus giving the rest of us the full game. After all, if you bought the game, would you go through all the trouble of scanning books you already have just to make another copy of the same module for TTS? Or would you just load up this one and use your books? And even if you did decide to scan the books, your module still has to "compete" with this useless one for exposure. Devilishly clever.
Call Me Mer Aug 7, 2023 @ 4:10pm
Gonna throw in my 2 cents about the rules too. What a shame. This is basically useless unless you have a physical copy.
Ewalk Aug 5, 2023 @ 12:22pm
It does suck. I just found out about the game and ordered a copy, but it won't be here for a couple of weeks. I have a week off of work and would love to work through the game, but the lack of rules hurts it, and it looks like they've pulled the files from the usual places.
markus dee Aug 5, 2023 @ 11:49am
I agree with TET - it's disappointing that this isn't playable. Oh well, good thing there are so many other great games out there to play.
The Exiled Tyrant Jul 31, 2023 @ 12:06pm
@Hippyshake, I have moved on; I just find it funny because they have plenty of other games in their library, like the COIN series, where all the rules are available on their website.

It’s just funny that one of the games designed by the company owners is one of the few games that doesn’t have all of its rule books available online.
Dorb Jul 29, 2023 @ 6:11pm
Just face it, this game is selling like hot cakes and folks are now going to have to wait for it to come back into stock - no reason at all to make it for free to play, just good business business model.
Once again, read and watch the reviews... really easy to see if it is for you or not, unless you just looking for a free great game.to play ;-)
[FB] Emtoucan Jul 25, 2023 @ 6:00am
For some of us in the UK who have ordered this on pre-release, it's now looking like GMT are pulling some of the international shipments as the US market is so strong. I've no idea if my order will be fulfilled in August. So no physical and also no digital either.
Hippyshake Jul 24, 2023 @ 9:08pm
You have the ability to learn the game and enjoy the TTS version, or move on to something else. I'm not sure what else you're looking for at this point. This is a business model GMT embraced using TTS long before Mr. President, and it makes complete sense that they would continue to do the same going forward.

For the record, I do get what you're saying. Although I paid for the TTS official version of Warfighter, that's what led me to buy the game (and multiple packs) later on.
Hippyshake Jul 24, 2023 @ 9:04pm
@The Exiled Tyrant Plenty of other games aren't on here either. Final Girl comes to mind, and that's doing just fine without TTS. But none of those games have anything to do with this one.

Four days ago, GMT completely restricted stock on all remaining copies of Mr. President because there are only a few hundred left in the warehouse and there are "several hundred P500 orders whose cards didn't go through when we charged and haven't contacted us in the 6 weeks or so since that charge date." In other words: The game has already sold out. They're doing fine.

You are literally complaining that you aren't able to play someone else's intellectual property, which they have generously provided for free, when, in fact, you are completely able to do just that. All you have to do is go on the web site and download a couple of pdf files, and check out a YT video to learn. I paid for the game. Sounds like Dorf did too, as did the many others who are enjoying the TTS version.
The Exiled Tyrant Jul 24, 2023 @ 7:32pm
@Dorb, plenty of other games out sell this and have their full game on Tabletop and they sell better specifically because people can try them before dropping $100+ on a game.

Speaking from my experience owning a board game cafe. It genuinely makes them more money to have it available to the public; as counter intuitive as that is.
afinati Jul 24, 2023 @ 1:20pm
Will you remove the Lvl 1 Rogue State from the Middle East? It's not one of the parts of the normal setup in the sandbox scenario.
HollywoodGarage Jul 24, 2023 @ 10:28am
Hi! Does anyone know if there is a way to select a Custom Scenario starting point? The game contains 6 different scenarios with starting points different than the core sandbox scenario, as well as specific decks for each years.

Building the custom crisis decks manually is taking up so much time!!
Dorb Jul 23, 2023 @ 12:19pm
Exiled Tyrant, - not really the game is getting hard to find - it is selling that well. Serious, read the reviews, watch the videos, if you can decide from those, then the game may not be for you.
They do this to keep folks for playing the game for free, which is really a great business model.
The Exiled Tyrant Jul 22, 2023 @ 11:42pm
@Hippysshake, that’s an incredibly shortsighted business strategy.
JK12559  [author] Jul 21, 2023 @ 12:27pm
@Pepperoncini Are you talking about the Focused National Intel Collection Chits? Those are in the bottom center of the markers grid right above the war display?
Hippyshake Jul 18, 2023 @ 7:42am
That said, people can still try it. :)
It's a great game. You can watch a playthrough, grab the pdfs that are on the GMT website and still play enough of this to try it out.
Hippyshake Jul 18, 2023 @ 7:41am
It's not here so people can try it. The TTS (ad VASSAL) modules were graciously provided by GMT Games so that players who purchased the game could still play, even if they had limited table space (or just preferred to play online). Hence, you need to own the games to get all the rule books.
The Exiled Tyrant Jul 17, 2023 @ 8:43pm
Sooo... what's the point of having this to let people try it if we don't have all the rules?

I echo other commenters; I would like to play this once before shelling out $100.00.
afinati Jul 17, 2023 @ 6:56pm
Is there a Surprise marker to remind players that they have a -1 DRM in teh next war status roll?
Pepperoncini Jul 15, 2023 @ 8:47am
Where are the focused national security chits hiding? I can't find them!
DisarmedSpy Jul 14, 2023 @ 1:08pm
IS this playable without the physical version? As I'd want to at least try the game before shelling out ~$100 for it
Mankelor Jul 13, 2023 @ 5:55pm
Just compared the Friends and Opponents counters from my physical copy with the ones in the module and saw no issues. Most counters are identical on both sides, with only a couple from each set having options between radical and moderate sides
EvilSWAT Jul 13, 2023 @ 9:48am
The Congressional Friends and Opponents tokens all seem to have the exact print on both sides
hmk Jul 11, 2023 @ 6:23am
... I checked with the game advertised for $82 USD on BGG. Shipping is another $80. So that option is over $200 CAD.
hmk Jul 9, 2023 @ 10:35am
$129.95 USD including shipping to Canada. That's $172.49 CAD. Now add 15% sales tax = $198.36. Like I said, $200.
Hippyshake Jul 6, 2023 @ 11:27pm
Yeah, it's absolutely not that much. You overshot it by 25%. Even brand new on the GMT website it's $149 CAD, and you can get it $30 CAD cheaper going through the Geekmarket. It's also a heck of a lot of game for that money, and the component quality is good. You could also just wait for it to come used to the market. It shouldn't take too long; there over 4k copies shipped and some of those are bound to decide it's not for them.
Luke Jul 5, 2023 @ 1:58pm
You extremely overestimate the cost of the game. Just read a review, or read one of the many AARs. Cope, even.
hmk Jun 30, 2023 @ 10:41am
It looks like the following are not available here, on Boardgame Geek, or on GMT and they are needed to play:

- Domestic Charts Booklet
- World Charts Booklet
- Ally and Rogue States Booklet
- World Peer Russia Acts Flipbook
- World Peer China Acts Flipbook
- Presidential Briefing Booklet
- Scenario Set-Up Booklet
- 4 Master Action Player Aids (one each for
Presidential, Domestic, Diplomatic, and
Military Actions)

I realize this is so you can't play without buying but most games on here can be played without buying. I for one am not going to put down $200 CAD after tax and shipping without being able to try it out first. So there's a cost either way.
DrumDuder8 Jun 28, 2023 @ 8:27am
I have my physical copy all set-up for my inaugural term! Can't wait to try this one out - theme, complexity, and thinkiness-level of this seem to be right up my alley. And... I'm so glad someone has made a TTS mod for this so I can play online!
Hippyshake Jun 26, 2023 @ 8:06am
There's no reason you can't refer to yourself as "Madam President" while you play the game. 👍😀 Don't let that cause you to miss a great solo experience.
Hippyshake Jun 26, 2023 @ 8:04am
Agreed. The game plays super smooth, and is far more narrative driven than I really expected. I'm also impressed with how non-political they made it considering it's a game about the presidency. By that I mean hot button issues are presented without agenda, and anybody from either side of the aisle can play comfortably. @afinati: The Legendary Tactics YouTube channel recently did a full week of videos on the game that you might find useful. I think the "review" (which is pretty short) is one of the best overview videos on the game I've seen, and might help you make up your mind even without playing the game.
Dorb Jun 26, 2023 @ 3:15am
It will be alright, just a term governments use for heads of state. - read the reviews on the game pretty sure if you like solo games you will not go wrong with this one.
afinati Jun 26, 2023 @ 1:18am
I appreciate the thought of having the game available for easier access, but I was on the fence with this one. I initially backed it and then cancellee based on its heavy focus on insurgency management and disappointment on the strict pronoun choice Gene stuck to keeping in the title.
I thought I'd try it out here and maybe be won over, but alas.

Trying on TTS worked with Paths of Glory, Triumph and Tragedy, Versailles: 1919, Churchill, Conquest and Consequence, Twilight Struggle, Imperial Struggle, Caesar: Rome vs. Gaul, 1989, Flashpoint: South China Sea, Conquest of Paradise, and Pericles - with Here I Stand, Virgin Queen, and Time of Crisis in P500. Who knows which of those I'd have bought if I hadn't tested them put first?
