Great mod, but it gives a problem with the new beta version. You cannot build bridges anymore.

Uff... that was it. I did not see that "Abutment" thing at the bottom, wasn't expecting it, and it's not in the description here. But yes, that's all it was... thanks!

@caddywonkus Have you turned it on? (in the bar under the screen), also the mod will only work when one/both extremity is on the land.

I understand that. But one is the "Tracks x Retaining Walls" mod you mentioned. The other "Girder Bridge 6" specifically links this abutment mod. The bridges from both mods are fine, but I can't seem to get an abutment to appear from any of them. I tried the Girder one just in case my problem was in fact with the Tracks x Retaining Walls mod, but nope, happens (or rather doesn't) with both.

Just wondering if there's anything I haven't thought to try. I get that it's (probably) just me, but I'm totally out of ideas about what could be wrong, myself.

@caddywonkus This mod is a supporting mod to others, it can't do magic trick itself. if you can't see an abutement that's because that mod doesn't support it..

I waited a week hoping maybe I wasn't the only one, but I guess I am. I'm still not getting the abutments to appear. I've tried everything I can think of. A free game with just these three mods (this, tracks x retaining, shader), and a simple stretch of high-enough-for-a-bridge embanked track, with a short section cut out for an actual bridge, no luck. Scanned all three mods folders (workshop, non, and core) for "abutment.lua" - only have this one, anywhere. I even tried moving the mod to the three mods locations (just one at a time), made no difference.

Tried another bridge mod that uses this script, "[jb_10]Girder Bridge 6"; no luck there either, bridge is short as advised, only 2 pillars - but no abutments.

It's build 31994, so latest official update. Nothing standing out in stdout.txt. And if it were an issue with the core files (which I never mess with), surely it would affect more than this one mod.

I can't think of anything else to try. :(

With the "Tracks x Retaining Walls" mod (just re-downloaded, so the latest, and with the Shader enhancement mod enabled as well), I can't seem to get the abutments to appear. I tried swapping the loading order, but that didn't make a difference. I even tried building just the bridge i.e. with ground-level tracks already laid on either end, and then separately the ends and the center... no abutments appear. :(

@µBunny No, that more of the problem of JK bridges themselve: it doesn't work well on the new release of the game. He is working on his side to make things up-to-date.

This mod breaks the viaducts in the British girder bridges and viaducts mod. The arches in the viaduscts become scrambled, the arch on one side starting in the middle of the other side.

The vanilla abutments made it almost to the top of our backlog last Summer and I was a little disappointed, when we released the suspension bridge with a flying concrete block at the end that can be build without a connection to the ground. The only bridge type that in reality does not need abutments, is the cable-stayed bridge. UG will hopefully release my favorite one (the Sunnibergbrücke at Klosters) with the next game update, but I don't know, if they will include the proper bridge supports for all other models, as it is really a thing that just engineers and architects are interested in.

@luftfisch Hi I made this mod becasue of a free bet with another modder SQKS, since he complained no way to have abutment in this game, so I made this. :) Yes I did a feedback to after this mod, that should have a native support to abutment.

While I was working as a product engineer at UG until last December, I always voted for a redesign of the bridges with realistic abutments and, if the bridge is short enough, no pillar in the middle. Unfortunately it ended like so many other ideas in the endless wishlist of never realized inprovements and features, after the decision was made to do a Mac version rather than a DLC. It's probably true that most TF players just care about details on trains and not about realistic bridge statics, but I am personally glad so see, that at least someone shares my thoughts.

@ethan2226 Well, this is a mod for mods, that means it works only when other mod support it.

For vanilla bridges, there's even no abutment models.
