okay thx!
Thorin Wolf May 18 @ 1:44pm
@nihikitora look in the assets tab. You then place one of the entrances and choose to connect it up.

how do i connect underground platforms to the ground? like how do i make an entrance?

Hey, thanks for creating such an awesome mod! This works great for me since most of the stations in my country simply aren't straight and some have multiple levels.

But, I do wish to ask, is there any chance of supporting platforms from other mods as styles? I'd like to be able to style the platforms somewhat more like what's common in my country without having to plop 1000s of assets, when they're already placed on platforms in another mod? Thanks!
EricSon Apr 19 @ 11:36pm
it may be useful if the lanes between platforms stay connected if there is a platform-extension placed in between to create wider platforms. And to place stairs and stuff in extensions also...

Hey, stunning mod that you put out there! Is there a possibility to get passenger Stations to 0 cm height?
lollus  [author] Mar 31 @ 3:03pm
That's the way. You can build them as you prefer, in any sequence you like, it's where you place the markers that sets which platform goes with which track.
butterdori Mar 31 @ 11:44am
Great mod! Thanks! As far as I understand it, for multi platform, multi track stations, I keep building 1 platform and 1 track at a time, and join them? Or is there a simpler way?
nirasa Mar 23 @ 11:24pm
Thank you very much for the useful mod.
lollus  [author] Mar 12 @ 3:03pm
I am glad you like them. Now, you can also decorate new things separately, like track and platform ends.
N0neGiv3N Mar 11 @ 6:06pm
Thank you for adding "Precise Fence End Marker". That is a huge savior!

Whoops. Fixed now.
TheOriginalMark:-) Mar 9 @ 11:46am
Great mod but since the latest update (8th March) I can no longer add "platform deco" walls to cargo stations (either ground level or underground).
lollus  [author] Mar 2 @ 4:07pm
One track - one platform is a pivot point, there are no workarounds unless I rewrite the most complicated bit. However, platforms and track do not need to be adjacent, so you can play around.
Last week I released some half-arch roofs; they leave a gap in the middle but they are arched and transparent. They leave the gap because the game does not offer a transformation to make them perfect in bends, ie to turn a rectangle into a trapezoid. I might try some new tricks in future to try and close those arches.

Hi! I've fell in love with this mod, is simply masterful, however, there's only two things that I can't find a work around, making more than 1 platform for 1 track (if it isn't functional, at least have it with decorations), and the 2nd one, a station roof like the Modular Roof mod. That's the only thing I'd like to see some compatibility. Otherwise, excellent mod, it's exactly what I've wanted for a long time!
lollus  [author] Feb 28 @ 8:42am
No.
RailRoadManiac Feb 27 @ 10:53pm
Hello! Is it not possible to place passenger entrances on cargo platforms and vice-versa?
RadiKyle Feb 16 @ 6:14am
Ah! Ok thanks
lollus  [author] Feb 16 @ 5:44am
It removes all the walls, fences and roofs. Its purpose is to save time.
RadiKyle Feb 15 @ 7:45am
Hi, what does the new "Remove terminal deco" option do? When I click it on a blue track slot I don't see any changes on either passenger or cargo platforms. I hoped maybe it hides the platform assets (like the other mod recently discussed).
RadiKyle Feb 14 @ 11:07am
Ok found the answer (and it was already in my first comment lol). The 10- and 20-m platforms have more than one cargo lane, so for load/unload penalty the game treats them as 2X and 4X longer than they really are.
RadiKyle Feb 14 @ 9:35am
Lol ok, well that confirms it's not an intended feature. I'll try to identify the cause. I have it on one 2-station line, both Freestyle. All my other Freestyle Stations are working as expected.
lollus  [author] Feb 14 @ 12:53am
No idea mate.
RadiKyle Feb 11 @ 12:22pm
Heya why do trains that are longer than the platforms sometimes not have a load/unload penalty? It's my understanding that the game's code compares the vehicle length to the total length of the wait area model's transport network edges. So I don't understand why some case have no penalty.
N0neGiv3N Feb 11 @ 7:34am
Thank you Lollus, I was able to accomplish what I wanted to get done thanks to your last tidbit!
lollus  [author] Feb 10 @ 11:56am
The game does funny things when you snap two tracks alongside. For example, it applies the same ballast to both, and it's not clear which one "wins". Tunnels might suffer from the same error, so you might want to try not snapping them.
Having said that, when I turn the platform and the track into a station, I replace the platforms with invisible tracks. You can try editing those, they are in res/config.
N0neGiv3N Feb 10 @ 8:50am
I wanted to edit the tunnel wall material of the freestyle station mod platforms.

I see where the information is for this in the config file, however it only takes in affect for the basic platform piece before the formation of the station using the waypoint markers.

After it is a proper station, none of the wall material attributes seem to take affect anymore. How can I figure out where the constructed version of the platforms get their attributes?

Thanks!
Jimbo_1977 Feb 8 @ 9:32am
Thanks, it did come together nicely apart from that.
Thats a shame, oh well.
lollus  [author] Feb 8 @ 8:09am
It looks nice. Underground things and stairs only work with passengers tho.
Jimbo_1977 Feb 7 @ 7:32am
the underground entrance (the Leslie Green style, terracotta tiled one) I'm trying to connect it to an elevated (cargo) station I've done, that is on top of the berlin s-bahn mod's viaduct/road cargo station (trying to link them both) https://ibb.co/vxf13PhV
lollus  [author] Feb 7 @ 3:26am
You mean the underground entrances or the stairs. Plop one, then make sure the station has at least one underpass or a set or stairs + stairs exit. Usually, you must add a stretch of road (dedicated paths) to connect the stairs.
Jimbo_1977 Feb 6 @ 11:24am
Hey lollus, I’ve forgotten how to get one of the asset entrances to join an existing station, what am i missing?
lollus  [author] Feb 4 @ 3:24pm
- breitere Bahnsteige bauen (ditto).
blacky Feb 3 @ 7:03am
Hallo Lollus,
kannst du mir sagen, ob und wo ich in der Mod die Kapazität von Bahnhofsgebäuden erhöhen kann???

Grüße
RadiKyle Jan 30 @ 10:08am
@blackwizard1812 looking forward to that, asset-free ground platforms have been on my wishlist for freight stations 🥳 I made a personal mod for it too but mine just deletes all the assets lol. Yours sounds better
lollus  [author] Jan 30 @ 4:37am
No I don't mind, go ahead.
blackwizard1812 Jan 29 @ 2:06pm
Hi @lollus, I have written a mod to hide assets decorating base platforms.
It consists in a simple script that empties lods and metadata values for every mdl used to decorate your platforms.
Do you mind if I publish it?
Alternatively, I can share the script with you so that you could integrate it as an option on mod load menu.

@RadiKyle I will try that gap trick because idea made me curious... yet still - this will be another tedious half-measure that I will have account for and repeat each time, on each station I create and wish to have ground leveled on delivery/exchange side... while the main point was to avoid that by having one/two-click switch handled by station code ;)
RadiKyle Dec 10, 2024 @ 7:45pm
@Ms.TAKE put a gap between the track and the platform. For this mod they don't have to be snapped together. You can actually put the platform anywhere on the map completely separate from the tracks. (My screenshots show several examples of this.)

This will prevent the platform "copying" the track ballast. So you can still have tracks with ballast and also platforms on the ground, at the same height as roads.
Ms.TAKE Dec 10, 2024 @ 7:09pm
@RadiKyle not really, my main point is not to have zero ballast tracks (which I just managed to use seconds ago with freestyle station - just have to build station ON existing "flat" track, not switching to them in existing station already buil on top of regular ones), but rather to have road-level platformas that are not at the same time zero-height from tracks point of view.
Secondary was observation that zero height platforms are not actually zero height since they are above the road level by the height of the (vanilla?) ballast, what looks strange.
RadiKyle Dec 10, 2024 @ 6:58pm
@Ms.TAKE do you mean like these screenshots?

https://ibb.co/3dDdvBN
https://ibb.co/JC9kzBd
https://ibb.co/F5v6TKR
Just use the Rails Only mod, it has no ballast and works well with the zero-height platforms.
Ms.TAKE Dec 10, 2024 @ 6:12pm
One benefit is that (outer) cargo platforms could be on road level (while track are not - what is kinda as it is in real life) and whole ugliness of land not being on same level, especially on side-exits from the station would be gone. Also ground level road stations like your lorry, would look as native extension of trainstation (if placed correctly). Right now it requires a lot of tidious / repeatable micro adjustments to just simulate that (success is at best partial, and not really worth the energy spend).
Regarding ground level tracks - there is such mod already on workshop, with its own height adapter (by WernerK), but when I use them in freestyle station they sunk in (disappear) even when used for 0-height platforms.
lollus  [author] Dec 10, 2024 @ 4:30pm
Changing the ballast would require defining new track types. It's possible but I don't see the benefit.
By the way, whenever you lay two parallel tracks, the game forces the ballast of one on the other. It's one of many quirks they have never addressed. This is why, for example, underpasses have ballast inside. I tried many times to get around that, no luck.
Ms.TAKE Dec 8, 2024 @ 1:13pm
Wouldn't it be a nice feature to have option to sunken whole station - make it level with ground from the outside? I'm asking because since you've added 0-level platforms, (they are great B(y)T(he)W(ay)) its especially unnoing to see them (still) rised above landscape.Anyway - non-zero platforms also would benefit from that. Bottom line probably is - would it be possible to have 0-height ballast forced per platform-lane pairs at least?
Jacob Nov 16, 2024 @ 9:47am
Nevermind - ignore that, I realised the GWR station assets fit perfectly over the 5m platforms XD
Jacob Nov 16, 2024 @ 9:18am
Ah, I see. In that case, could you try make an invisible texture for the platform at normal height instead? I have a feeling that would work.
lollus  [author] Nov 15, 2024 @ 5:15pm
I tried but it crashed because the lanes and their nodes can overlap.
Jacob Nov 15, 2024 @ 12:09pm
Can you make the No Platform module usable for passengers? I would use it to add fake platforms in so I could make curved GWR platforms instead of just using straight ones. (My maps mostly use GWR stations.)
