The mod works for me. The decision is supposed to give your character a Parthenogeneticizing trait, which is removed after 270 days when the clone is spawned. If clicking on the decision doesn't bring up the event that gives you that trait, or if the followup event never fires, then the mod might not have installed correctly.

update please

idea: have the spawn be identical, but swap their gender. then they can, you know, nudge nudge, wink wink.
Cowcubus  [author] Jul 12, 2022 @ 8:35am
@mcavee I actually don't really know how the DNA in the game works, so I do not know how to control that to be honest
mcavee Jul 11, 2022 @ 9:14am
Great mod, and even though the clones all look alike, they don't actually look like my character when grown up. Physical attributes will be randomised, such as length, chest size and hair colour. Is this supposed to happen? The hair was also all the same, but not the same as mine.

@shakenidentity
I'm glad you managed to find a workaround! Truthfully I'm not that good at modding CK3 yet, so it may be a while before I figure out how to fix the prestige issue
shakenidentity May 4, 2022 @ 8:06pm
@Cowcubus | I figured out a workaround for now with the debug console so that the children produced via this mod can have the amount of prestige they're supposed to get at birth. If I land the child temporarily (use Granting Titles to Opposite Gender mod for daughters), I can switch characters to my child, add prestige with the console using "add_prestige [amt]", switch back to my character, remove the title from the child with the console (not by the usual "Revoke Title" option that has penalties), and finally bring the child back into my court from Wandering land. I thought I'd mention this workaround so that the prestige thing doesn't stop people from using this wonderful mod in the meantime.

Thanks SO MUCH for this mod. I love being able to play asexually/ chaste/ unmarried so that I don't have to worry so much about the Peyton Place nonsense in my character's life. Now if I could just fill the Spouse council place with a Personal Assistant. :>

@shakenidentity
Oh, I actually hadn't thought about that at all ngl. I'll have to think about how to fix that
shakenidentity Apr 30, 2022 @ 12:08pm
Nice. I like the ability to create a child in the game without the bother of a cheating AI spouse, but the prestige hit that your child takes at birth is ROUGH. For instance, with my level of prestige/ dynasty prestige plus some religious tenets, my children should have taken about 1600 prestige at birth... but no... the first was 100, and the second had zero prestige at birth. Is there any way to fix that? Thanks for the mod. I still like it, but due to that reason, I will have to use it only in the desperate situation where I need an heir instead of in my RP idea that I could just be a single mum without the cheating AI spouse. :>

It should be updated now
House of Krey Feb 22, 2022 @ 1:31pm
can there be an update for royal court?
Binio Jan 6, 2022 @ 7:44am
First girl clone spawn you always get boy with traits + girl without traits. If i chose to spawn boy its work ok

Update :) ???
Cowcubus  [author] Apr 21, 2021 @ 8:09am
@ngppgn
The traits are passed on via event. If you add in modded congenital traits, you'll have to add those in manually.
ngppgn Apr 21, 2021 @ 4:12am
Not sure if this is something that can be fixed, but modded congenital traits are not "inherited" by "clones".

Does this give the children your dna string, or just basically spawn a character set as your child?
Daltem Jan 8, 2021 @ 10:34pm
i dont suppose anyone knows of a mod that allows you to have a child that inherits all the players traits? like 100% chance
Viktor Von Groyper Dec 22, 2020 @ 6:05pm
@BeorTheOld I find that interesting because I have done extensive clone experimentation in CK. In CK2, the children tended to look more like the spouse. So the wife in most instances or the father in matri. So if suddenly your family had a horrible nose its because of your grandma.
Wotan von Edelsburg Dec 18, 2020 @ 11:28am
Does this work now... that the clones really look like their maker?

I understand if this is difficult to implement. But how do you say? Nothing is impossible. ^^
Wotan von Edelsburg Dec 18, 2020 @ 5:00am
@Beortheold.. what do you mean?
Cowcubus  [author] Dec 17, 2020 @ 2:04pm
@Viktor Von Groyper
That is good to know. Thank you!
Viktor Von Groyper Dec 17, 2020 @ 1:48pm
Just an FYI. Youll get genetic drift with children, If you have the persistent DNA copied. got to debug then profile editor. Paste the persistent DNA then copy the DNA string. Then past that in a save game file on any characters you want to have that look. Or You can also just find the DNA string in the save and paste it where ever. Though that method seems to have a variation on height and weight and what not
BeorTheOld Dec 10, 2020 @ 12:21pm
real_father = root seems to work for keeping the same appearance. It didn't seem to generate a secret or cause the two portrait problem.
Cowcubus  [author] Dec 6, 2020 @ 8:08am
@BeorTheOld
Unfortunately, I have yet to find a way to replicate the DNA of the parent exactly for the child. The most I have been able to do so far is to set the child's parent to the player character. However, if I set both parents of the child to the player character, a strange bug occurs wherein the child shows up twice on the parent's profile.
BeorTheOld Dec 5, 2020 @ 9:50pm
It doens't look like the appearance is kept, is it possible to make it so the clone looks exactly like the original?

I once left a German translation.

But as far as I understand it, does this clone inherit everything, the appearance etc.?
Archer-senpai Dec 3, 2020 @ 12:00pm
I will try it again, to be honest even the double portraits triggered my ocd hard, the mod was worth it, so many roleplay possibilites. Again great mod!
Cowcubus  [author] Dec 3, 2020 @ 8:58am
@45th | Archer
Thank you for letting me know about the bug! I just updated and (hopefully) fixed it, let me know if there are any other bugs!
Archer-senpai Dec 3, 2020 @ 6:47am
Hey Author-san, I just discovered using parthenogenesis decision ends up causing two portraits to appear for the child. Just wanted to give you a heads up. Apart from that, it is really nice to try some roleplaying options.
Archer-senpai Dec 3, 2020 @ 4:40am
Love the idea! Going to test in my next playthrough.
