also wanna add that the legend adventure cb also creates houses when the game rule is set to no cadet house generation.

Hi hdtomo. There is now a mod setting to chose it. When you are starting your game, if you go to the game rules for setting up the game, you will see it in there. It should be toward the end. You can chose any rank, including living legends.

It is recommended to change the Chinese text, as the original mod Chinese translation text has conflicts.

Also, the beginning of the translation file of each language must be added with the identification key of the respective language. But the reality is that every language you label is ‘l_english’, and the original Chinese should be labeled ‘l_simp_chinese’, otherwise the game will not be recognized.

... The DLC was off from a recent multiplayer game. Give it a try now and let me know if it's better. There are no starting ruler with a big enough house to test it easily on my side and I don't have the time to make a whole game right now.

? im looking at the norse culture rn and they have the varangian adventures innovation, under cultiural and regional. But the last time the game created 30+ cadet houses was when I launched the adventure cb that i got from a completed lvl 2+ legend

Hi Jet. I looked into it again, and it seems that Roads of Power has phased out Varangian Adventures? To launch the adventure, you need the associated cultural innovation. But the Norse don't have it anymore and don't seem to have the option to research it.

I have now updated the mod. There is an option in the game rules to set the level of renown you want for the option.

Hi Jet. To be honest, since the latest patch that came with the new DLC fixed a tons of these issues, I assumed they fixed this one too! But it looks like they haven't. I'll see if I can throw a quick mod for this. I would add it to this one, but for that I would first need to rework it to have options and I haven't had the time to do that due to work.

hello there manlor, its been a couple of months since I last checked in. DId you ever figure out a fix for the varangian branch split? I havent tried the new type of adventurer cb that comes from wanderers but I assume it works the same way as the (broken) legend adventurer cb with it spawning dozens of branches

Hi Jet. I had a look at the code. It is wild. If the adventurer wasn't a house head, then he becomes one. That's fine I suppose.

But if he was house head? Every landed characters (of age 100 and below for some reason) of his house that didn't follow immediately get their own house. And they don't even need to have been part of his old realm. That can be a LOT.

I suppose the intent is that the house head abandoned them to go on adventure so they started now houses. But I can see how that can get out of control.

I'll look for a solution. Maybe at least restrict it to at least dukes+, and Exalted too.

That is a good question. I will investigate it! I very rarely play Norse now so I had never noticed the issue. It is probably something that is bound to the Varangian/adventure situation. I'll give it a look.

can we get something to address the crazy amount of cadet houses that spawn from an adventurer or varangian war? i got 33 houses spawn because i did one of these from a legend i dont see how this is legal!

It is working for me. However it isn't compatible with other mods that modify the dynasty decisions. So if you have mods with far reaching changes, it may not be compatible with them.

I was just thinking earlier today that I'd like to experiment with using Illustrious instead of Exalted, so this is wonderful news.

I am hoping to soon have a version with a "game option" menu when you start a new game. Nothing too complicated. But it could be nice to let people chose a couple of variables.

Hey, 00_dynasty_decisions.txt > is_valid requires House Head to be Exalted or higher.
What is the idea behind that? Why does your House Head need to be exalted too?

Yes, it does basically the same thing. You need to be Exalted among Men to create a cadet branch. The AI spam of cadet branches was annoying me but I still wanted some cadet branches.

One day I'd love to have the time to program an option setting so you could tweak the rank requirements yourself if you want it to be harder or easier. but for now it does the job fine.
