Brilliant idea and I love the occult theme! Great work! Hope to see more events this year. Would you ever consider compatibility with the Vampirism and Lycanthropy mod? Seems a natural fit. :)

Alright folks, about 18 hours to go until Royal Court is out!

You may see many BIG mods updating with hour 1 patches. This mod will not be one of those. The plan remains the same - I will move into updating this mod this weekend.

If you are feeling brave, feel free to run the mod with RC and report if anything breaks or what have you.

Anyways, have a GREAT time tomorrow. I know I will - we have been waiting for it for so long now.

@pearl, it seems that whenever you add mods to your modlist the game triggers changes that randomizes every character without a preset appearance. Sorry for the late reply, but I've only now seen another modder comment on the same issue so I thought'd get back to you now.

Is this mod changing character DNA? For some reason, Queen Wyszeslawa's (Poland, 1066) appearance changes completely with this mod. Tested it with vanilla vs only this mod enabled. Does she start as a vampire or something?

1.4 HORRORS OF THE DEEP is out! Happy Halloween and happy anniversary to this mod! One year ago I first released this mod with maybe ~10 events. Crazy to think there are almost 100 unique events. Thank you all for the support, feedback, and simply using the mod in your playthroughs.

HORRORS OF THE DEEP is not as big as I anticipated. I have been very busy with work and college so I had to cut it down in size. And with the delay of ROYAL COURT - I expect I will not be working on new content until atleast Jan (my speculated time of release for ROYAL COURT). I will be around for bugfixes and the such... but until then, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hey, folks, happy Spooktober. It's been pretty busy on my end just not with the mod, I've started a new job and college is in session so it's been difficult to find time to work on the anniversary update. I'll try to see what I can do for a small update.

The problem is that the AI doesn't use the interaction to create more vampires at this time, and doesn't prioritize breeding more vampires from the blood traits. I haven't had time to test how the AI would behave with that interaction but I'll look into that after Royal Court for you.

It's not a matter of the events topping after the start, it's just that if you get them in a lifetime you won't see them again, that and most of them are just uncommon/rare.

It seems the events stop after the start. During a game, some vampires seems to have been creating, and I had one event connected to some beast killing cattles but it was only during the first years. The vampires slowly disappears after some time and now there is only vampire ancestry (and even that seems to slowly disappears). This problem can be connected to a mod interaction?

Happy September! As a progress update for the next two months:

September: I am working on an update called HORRORS OF THE DEEP. It will be focus on sea creatures and sea monsters. No ETA.

October: For the one year anniversary update, I intend to circle back to werewolves. There will likely be more in this update.

perhaps vampires should be made either immune to disease or more resistant (a creature that drinks blood must have a strong immune system, right?)

you probably already thought about it but it would be nice if a character was born a vampire he had access to a differend trait like pureblood vampire or something similar.
Oh and another idea like that: a completely different lifestyle tree that replaces that of vampire when you become a legendary vampire (personally I have so far increased the life expectancy by 30 for my normal vampires and I made legendary vampires immortal)

In the VampirePNL.0104 event line 622 you forget " = " so the dhampyr trait don't be removed if you became a vampire.

@Chadius Maximus, open the console and input the following (without the quotes) "add_trait pnl_vampire" - This will skip the event chain and make you a vampire.

If you want to do the event chain (for story purposes), open the console and type the following: "event VampirePNL.0001", again, without the quotes.

Just as a general progress update, I've postponed my aforementioned Wales mod and have made good progress on the GHOST AND GHOULS update. I am looking to release it soon(tm).

@Chadius Maximus, yeah, you can go to the on_action file in the mod and move the VampirePNL.0001 event to the "common events" part of the script. You can also use the console to trigger that event.

Having the brave, ambitious, and adventurer traits also make the event more likely to fire for your character.

@Chadius Maximus, yes. A very rare event will fire, allowing the player to go through the event chain to become a vampire.

Right now I am working on another mod centered around Wales, to be released sometime this month. After that, assuming Royal Court hasn't released, I will begun on the GHOST and GHOULS update.

oh and they can regenerate so no problem if they lose a leg an arm or an eye. Maybe you could fit this into your mod with a decision to regenerate in exchange for a lot of stress (I imagine the body shouldn't be too keen on pushing a leg back overnight).

personally I prefer the werewolves of the mod mythos 2 (and 3) of CKII. They are smart but sometimes the beast takes over and they wake up next morning with a taste of blood in their mouths and an event may occur saying humans have been eaten by wolves XD. Fortunately over time they can learn to control themselves and there was even a blood line that made it much easier to control themselves (hightborn werewolf if I remember correctly).

@Cosmosis, I haven't really decided what I want to do with them at the moment. I like the idea of a werewolf being an utterly uncontrollable affliction, where the victim regresses into a wild beast with no higher thinking. So, most likely not, I'm afraid.

@Langhar, I think you should still be fine. We use different event ids and trait ids so nothing from my quick glance earlier looked incompatible.

@Langhar, to be fair that was six months ago! I just loaded up both mods (Vampirism & Lycanthropy + this one) and I didn't get any immediate issues. I think you would be fine to use both mods; after all, my vampire trait is a bit harder to get since it is a rare event chain rather than just a decision.
