I have created an alternative version to this VRM Loader that pretty much fully integrates it with the character DLC content while keeping most of the original content intact.
This however depends on having character DLC so most of the new functionality is not present if the player doesn't have the DLC.

Is it okay for me to post it?
The rights in relation to the older VRM mods are set to MIT but that seems to be unclear with the current versions.
I will credit you for the mod and link this version in the description.

This confused me a bit, mostly because of how FTD handles mods. Just in case anybody else has the same problem; after subscribing to the mod, you need to go to the main menu, then go to the content tab, then scroll down to mods, click download, click VRM_Loader, then scroll down & click the button in the bottom right to create the folder.

Thanks, i'll try doing that. probably in the future we would have sitting and swimming animations if VRM loader is remade.

When selecting a character such as Rambot in FTD character selection, it seems that there is an issue where the VRM model floats in the air.

I was unable to identify the cause of the floating.

For the time being, I decided to deal with it by shifting the height by a certain value.

All avatars both default and imported are floating a bit in the air

The mod loads avatars again. :D
However i noticed all avatars even rambot are invisible in first and third person, but are visible in freecam?

We have changed from
VS2019 .NETFramework v4.6 to VS2022 .NETStandard v2.1
In line with this, we will discontinue support for FTD versions less than 4.2.3
If you would like to use the mods in an environment where the FTD version is less than 4.2.3,
please use the previous mods that we have uploaded to GitHub.

It worked in 4.2.0, but it stopped working again in 4.2.1.

i had to map the memory and go through it to find where it was pulling the data from. if ur on linux and have the game on a second drive with proton, there's a chance this mod will save in some weird spot

how do you remove the mod? ive deleted it from my mod folder, verified cache, and reinstalled the game but its still there ... i think its giving me memory leak issues on proton, because the game gets a sudden stutter spike and the console menu the mod pulls up gets spammed

reinstalling did nothing, but i did figure out a solution.

for whatever reason, the mod is disabled by default and has to be enabled in the *mod creator* menu, which is odd, but it seems functional now

Do you see the mod name and version in the bottom right corner of the main menu after starting FTD?

If it is not displayed, you can solve the problem by un-disabling the mod by FTD or emptying the Mods folder and reinstalling the mod.
If you're having trouble seeing the mod's name and version, it's a sign that you're running into a pretty nasty problem.

the mod seems either non-functional or the documentation doesn't explain something. i have the mod loaded and a VRM in the folder, however i dont see the tab in my character sheet, so i can't even select the default mannequin VRM since i can't get to the dropdown/selector/etc.

based on the formatting and look of the files of the default/example mod avatars, they don't seem to be VRMs and im worried there was a change made in a recent update of FTD that made this mod incompatible, but i have no idea. the worst part is that doing this the "proper" way, in the style of the example mod, where it shows up in the normal avatar selection dropdown, is not documented and i can't figure out how to do it myself.

Shadow-Fox, if you’re on Mac it doesn’t work on Mac because the author doesn’t have one to test and debug it on iirc. As for it being abandoned, the author might’ve just moved on to something else for a while.

There is currently no sitting animation.
We plan to recreate a new VRM_Loader that will utilize character DLC in the future.
Once this is completed, you will be able to use the sitting animation etc.
Also, it is not possible to change the mannequin model to VRM, but once the new VRM_Loader is completed, VRM will be able to be used in animation blocks added by character DLC.
It will take some time, so please wait until then.

Do the VRM characters have a sitting animation? With the rambot model I could never tell, the DLC Steel Striders characters definitely do but with VRM active it only seems to work with Rambot and when seated the VRM model just stands in the chair, almost in an A pose.
Also is it possible to display the VRMs on a manequin or the moving manequin I forget the name?

I changed from Visual Studio 2022 to Visual Studio 2019 and tried building again.
Mod version is 2.0.4
I would appreciate it if you could let me know if the bug where the number of tabs increases is resolved.

I still don't know the cause or how to fix it.
I came up with a good idea, the mod I create has a version change function
C:/Users/USER_NAME/Documents/From The Depths/Mods/VRMLoader/AssemblyFilePath.txt
You can change the mod version by editing this text
I would appreciate it if you could try deleting the top 28 lines and see if VRM_Loader works.

Not at the moment
However, there are plans to create a next-generation VRM_Loader that is tied to the character DLC, so once it is completed, it may be possible to use the animations provided by the character DLC.

There does not seem to be a pose for sitting in chairs, the character model just stays in it's idle pose.
Any chance you're going to add that?

When I checked, I found that the DLL files that make up the mod were loaded and executed many times.
This is completely unexpected behavior, and there is a possibility that something is wrong with the FTD itself.
There are still many things I don't understand, so I'll investigate in detail later.

I temporarily stopped the function to load VRM immediately after starting FTD and tried building again (FTD version 3.7.3, Mod version 2.0.1)
