You would need to load a save game that either has the Fences mod - as it is now a required file - or to add the mod to a save game that currently does not have it enabled.

I believe that vast majority of players will use Snowball's original Fences mod as well as many other fence/wall-based mods that reference it as a dependency, which is what this does.

The other option is to remove this mod from your loading sequence as well, although this will then leave you with a large number of placeholder cubes where the flowering trees used to be.

After accidently removing the required "Fences" mod I can't start my save game anymore.

I can't even get to the mod menu in order to reactivate the "Fences" mod, because my save game instantly crahes when clicking on the save game link.

I guess this is caused by the "Flowering Tree Assets and Topiary Hedges" mod, but I'm not 100 % sure.

Unfortunately, until I can reproduce the effect, or you can supply me with any information from the StdOut.txt file, there is nothing I can do to rectify something which, for me, does not occur.

The Italien Cypress update from 30.01 is the reason
Quince99  [author] Feb 1, 2023 @ 7:10am
The Italian cypress tree was added, essentially a stretched Lombardy poplar, then, because it faded out very quickly, I attempted to alter the LoD distances in order to prevent this.

To date there have been no other reports of this version not working, and it is not something I have been able to reproduce myself. If you start a brand new, small map, with no other mods except this one, does it still produce the same behaviour?

If you can check the StdOut.txt file and copy and paste any info relating to this mod it would be useful in aiding diagnosis of any issues.
hiku9alt Feb 1, 2023 @ 7:06am
Sorry ,but this Version not working for me What have you changed?
Quince99  [author] Jan 31, 2023 @ 4:36am
@hiku9alt - Thanks for that info, I'll double check this across a few save games, but have experienced no issues myself to date.
antoine.ride Jan 31, 2023 @ 3:36am
oh i forget also a cork oak, swamp oak, garrigue oak, hawthorn and blackthorn. That's all for the moment and these trees are for my hedge
hiku9alt Jan 31, 2023 @ 2:17am
Hi Quince99, before the update from 01/30/23 the game still worked now it gets stuck in the loading screen. I think it has something to do with Lod level
hiku9alt Jan 31, 2023 @ 2:13am
Hi Quince99, vor dem Update vom 30.01.23 ging das Spiel noch jetzt bleibt es im Ladebildschirm hängen.
Quince99  [author] Jan 30, 2023 @ 2:28pm
@antoine.ride - Thank you for your suggestions, I will look into those.
antoine.ride Jan 30, 2023 @ 10:29am
why not a red oak and a Holm oak + sessile oak if you can make them
Adie Gibbs Sep 6, 2022 @ 10:49am
They are beautiful.... Thank You
Quince99  [author] Sep 6, 2022 @ 8:40am
@Adie Gibbs - Funny you should say that, I've just added white and purple lilac trees. Will look to add more in due course.
Adie Gibbs Sep 5, 2022 @ 9:48am
Loving these bushes... any plans for more?
Quince99  [author] Sep 5, 2022 @ 5:19am
That totally looks like a French lavender field - if that works for you and your game, then I'm very pleased; I hope other players will incorporate it too. I know I'll have to revisit some of my savegames and introduce it into parks and gardens as well as fields.
pendrillion Sep 4, 2022 @ 11:21am
Hey Brilliant! Thanks so much. Ill check it right now!
Quince99  [author] Sep 4, 2022 @ 7:42am
Have published an update with a lavender bush - have a look and see if you're happy with the colour shade, whether you'd like it lighter/darker etc.
pendrillion Sep 2, 2022 @ 4:55am
Yeah Ingo and Mariotator have done a couple of brushes that are cool. I just thought I send it your way as an Idea... I work on an Provencal themed map. So I am looking for things that fit. But no hurry. Thank you for even considering it!
Quince99  [author] Sep 2, 2022 @ 2:17am
@pendrillion - I really thought someone like Ingo had done lavender, but maybe that's a terrain brush rather than actual assets. I'll look to recolour and change the details but probably a week or so down the line.
pendrillion Sep 1, 2022 @ 9:21am
Hi Quince! I'd have a request! Could you add the Gorse also in Lavender color? It would be an awesome way to create proper Lavender fields. Thanks for your consideration and thank you A LOT for this great mod. I use it regularly in my Schönbau projects.

Updated billboard textures should now eliminate indistinct textures when zoomed out.
briansyston Jan 15, 2021 @ 9:51am
The yellow one goes to a splodge at distance.
Quince99  [author] Jan 15, 2021 @ 4:01am
Most trees become a blur of greenery when zoomed fully out. There are distant LoD textures with these but will investigate.
briansyston Jan 14, 2021 @ 7:19pm
No coalition on these but they go to a splodge at distance!
Hieronymus Nov 12, 2020 @ 6:50am
Very nice!
Quince99  [author] Oct 12, 2020 @ 4:37pm
The game's Shingle Oak unfortunately doesn't look like an English Oak as it's entirely the wrong shape. I could re-texture the horse chestnut tree as an oak, albeit a rather tall one.
Sedge Oct 12, 2020 @ 4:11pm
Thank you! I am looking mostly now for oak trees after excellent work from the community including you Madhatter, and Spacky.
4mB3r197 Oct 6, 2020 @ 7:09am
Thanks so much for that great work and for the fast implementation of changes! Plese feel free to contact me in case of testing etc. .
Quince99  [author] Oct 6, 2020 @ 5:50am
I realise the model swap will have inconvenienced a few people, having to replace their grey boxes with hydrangeas once again. Following the suggestions in this thread - I have to thank 4mB3r197 for all his input and recommendations - and as someone who makes formal gardens and parks around stations etc. I think non-collision and scalability are two vital characteristics for flowering trees and shrubs.

I'm going to have a look at the Lombardy poplar and do a few colour changes so it can masquerade as other cypress trees!
hermmm Oct 6, 2020 @ 5:19am
Nice!!!After your update,i delete the Placeholder Greyboxes. The new scalable element,is very very great!!!without collision!!!!The trees and bushes look great, much THX Quince99
Quince99  [author] Oct 5, 2020 @ 5:59am
I thought I'd taken care of the dirt texture! Will double check that as it should be gone, likewise the collision.
4mB3r197 Oct 5, 2020 @ 4:03am
Just saw, that the trees still have a slight dirt texture which doesn't matter much. But now it's even larger.
4mB3r197 Oct 5, 2020 @ 3:56am
I guessed that was the reason for you keeping the icons. But personally I don't find it too difficult to remember 10 or so plants without having to look at icons. ;) But your idea is good and helps to reduce scrolling and a long list of (double) icons.
Quince99  [author] Oct 5, 2020 @ 3:46am
I think the grey box issue has been resolved now. I did wonder about just keeping the scalable text box element but realised some people will want to see what type of tree they're planting rather than pick a name and it not be what they want. With that in mind I'm going to look to use icons for the UI selection rather than plain text.
4mB3r197 Oct 5, 2020 @ 3:44am
Just realized that the flowers, placed yesterday, were removed today and replaced by a grey box. They are still available in the asset selection and can be placed, but all previously placed ones are lost.
Besides: There are now the bushes and trees as single icons and the icon with the set of plants, which can be resized. Wouldn't it be more convenient to remove the single icons and keep the set of plants only?
4mB3r197 Oct 5, 2020 @ 1:27am
Very nice!!
Quince99  [author] Oct 4, 2020 @ 3:04pm
There is now scaling in the separate construction menu - the icon is four coloured shrubs in a quadrant. This opens up a basic text menu to select the tree/shrub type and scaling options from 25% to 150% size.
4mB3r197 Oct 4, 2020 @ 2:50pm
Great! I thought about the collision, too. And the ultimate thing would be to have scaling, too or an integration into the tree brush.
Quince99  [author] Oct 4, 2020 @ 11:58am
I did that in TpF1 for myself, replacing the forest floor texture with an invisible one. It's a particular pain when planting in nice lawned areas with flowerbeds and the specimen trees ruin all my nice grass!

I'm going to look at removing the collision flag as it's hindered me in laying out carpet bedding-type arrangements so I'll see if I can do something about the dirt texture. Hopefully at some point this week if possible.
4mB3r197 Oct 4, 2020 @ 11:46am
A question: Would it be possible to remove the dirt texture? I know that it can be overpainted. But when you have a textured (several ground textures, neatly painted) garden, park or a shopping street, it will be "destroyed" by that huge dirt texture and you need to repaint the ground which is annoying.
4mB3r197 Oct 4, 2020 @ 10:29am
Since the game neither offers day and night change nore dynamic weather, I am sure, that it won't be possible to do this.
Quince99  [author] Oct 4, 2020 @ 6:03am
Not sure if that's possible with the game mechanics; I don't know enough about scripting for that. It would also require permission from other mod creators to incorporate their work into an all-in-one seasonal tree mod. In the case of the deciduous trees it may need new models to show them without leaves.
gGeorg Oct 4, 2020 @ 5:32am
Is it possible make them "animate" depend by month? So they rise flower on spring, then get green in summer then yellow on autmn?
4mB3r197 Oct 4, 2020 @ 5:03am
Awesome!! That's something I really missed for a long time besides various other trees. So thanks a lot for this great mod!
Quince99  [author] Oct 4, 2020 @ 3:50am
These are assets in addition to the normal green trees. They will not overwrite the default trees.
soldier312 Oct 4, 2020 @ 3:04am
Will these add to the existing ones or will this mod replace the textures?? Siper great idea!!!
Gunzolette Oct 4, 2020 @ 2:57am
Great...very colorfull.....good job:steamhappy:
