good mod that let my heir become house head without waiting his father die after I abdicate, just "disown" my dad and "adopt" him lol
Fizzet Aug 17, 2022 @ 1:18pm
This is the coolest mod ever, it let's me designate my grandsons and granddaughters as my heirs, I have been looking for a mod like this one for such a long time. Thank you so much for creating this masterpiece, I hope you never delete it and update it constantly. I hope you live a happy a merry life! Have a great and wonderful day bro!!!
Nobutora May 25, 2022 @ 11:13am
ask to be adopted option?
Nat Mar 3, 2022 @ 6:03pm
The launcher still says this mod is for 1.5.0.1, and that's after unsubbing and resubbing.
Pickerel Feb 28, 2022 @ 9:22pm
update up
Edaryion Feb 22, 2022 @ 12:16pm
Hmm, this does not work with 1.5.02
Maybe it is a mod incompatibility issue.
Edaryion Feb 22, 2022 @ 5:40am
Thank you!

Updated to 1.5.0.1

This can definitely be refined into something more interactive, cool idea but I'm not going to use it at this stage since the adoption mechanics are bonkers.

Yeah- the mod doesn't seem to work for me- if anything, it bugged the disinherit option so that it spends the dynasty mana, but does not work.

It would be awesome if the adoption was counted towards both spouses in a marriage. I am married to the queen of Poland but we're both old and childless, so I thought making a bastard and adopting him would solve my problems, it didn't. The decision made me the father and him a bastard of the dynasty, with no claims to my wife's kingdom.

Wouldn't it be more balanced if adopt & include could only be done with extended family who are no longer part of your dynasty (e.g. because of matrilineal marriage). Ideally that extended family would also include children and grandchildren of extended family. (I find it a bit of a shame the game stops tracking blood/genes after some point). I also agree with others that Disown seems a bit redundant. The option is in the vanilla game; if your intent was to just remove them from the dynasty/house I fail to see the point (other than RP perhaps?). Perhaps rename the option to "Estrange". Designate Heir seems a bit OP to me.

I agree with Wuren from back in 2020, disowning without it removing someone from the inheritance is a bit pointless. Honestly, I had assumed that disowning a child would disinherit them, and that it doesn't means that I need to spend more prestige to embrace them to then disinherit them properly :steamsad:

I'm going to assume that adoption doesn't add a child to the line of inheritance too, simply makes them your house. (This is more palatable due to realism but I seem to recall instances of adopted sons who did inherit historically, albeit in the absence of legitimate heirs.)
If this is the case then I think I'll probably not bother with this mod in the future unless it is updated so that these mechanics affect succession.

I hasten to add that I don't make mods so I have no idea if I'm being too demanding of someone who has given up their time to create these tools for free for others to enjoy, so if I am please tell me to bugger off.

Could you add the feature that you can change the dynasty of someone, who already has one to yours?
Lucas182 Mar 28, 2021 @ 1:28pm
I havent used any of the interactions in my 1.3.1 game yet, but they all show up and the mod adds things, it doesnt alter game files. There's no reason it shouldnt work with 1.3.1

So mod works, it doesnt need an update. If the version mismatch warning bothers you so much (which I don't really understand lol)... just open the descriptor file and change the supported version to get rid of it
FiauraTheTankGirl Mar 20, 2021 @ 4:17am
Need an update to at least version number if you can.
ahnkra Dec 31, 2020 @ 8:10pm
"Playing favorites isn't cool, but is less not cool than murdering them!" OMG so true! blows my mind every time someone suggests that this is how you handle getting rid of bad sucessors. Dressing a 16 year old up in armor and sending him off to lead my troops to (his own) slaughter is just abhorrent.
Thanks for this! Now i can totally not murder my own children, and dont have to have children to pass on the kingdom. Now I just need a marriage mod that allows same sex marriage and Ill be all set to relive my own Alternative Version of the Past = ) Much Love!
Mattia von Sigmund Dec 13, 2020 @ 12:22am
You should add an "disinherit line" option, any children and their children bron by that disinherited character shall never inherit
ShikokuButts Oct 28, 2020 @ 8:19pm
Doesn't work with the latest update.
riesen_Bonobo Oct 28, 2020 @ 8:16am
Pls update
Rhaeven Oct 15, 2020 @ 5:35am
Disowning seems rather pointless to be honest. All it does is turn the Dynasty into Lowborn. Shouldn't it remove you as a father/mother? Or turn a legitimate child into a bastard?
The Quiet Cab Oct 12, 2020 @ 1:27pm
Good mod, but no localisation. Come on, it's only a few languages. And if you can't just copy at least english in all localisations instead of nothing. Would be happy if at least ENGLISH was added to any lingual setting. Like it though. It's good.
Radanos Oct 12, 2020 @ 9:40am
can't understand why such a low rating. the mod is great
Everec Oct 12, 2020 @ 6:21am
@Sammy Wammy
Yes it is, works with currents saves, no need to start a new game.
Very good mod, hope there will be option to convince someone to change House from another House
El Chapo Oct 3, 2020 @ 11:57am
is it save game compat?
Svensk Oct 1, 2020 @ 11:14pm
Can you post a screenshot how this mod works in-game?
Lord Likhus Oct 1, 2020 @ 10:30am
It would be great if the dynasty head could suggest or arrange marriages of your entire dynasty, or at least your House.
Ironbreaker's Song  [author] Sep 30, 2020 @ 10:36am
Trying to figure out an easier way, but as of now you can switch character to your parents, adopt someone, switch back to your character and the adopted person will be a sibling.

If you adopt them with only one parent they'll be a half-sibling. For sibling use both, choosing the second parent as the one with the Dynasty you want your sibling to have as it will overwrite the Dynasty of the first parent to adopt.
RobS Sep 30, 2020 @ 7:38am
Maybe Is their a way so that we could designate siblings? It would save me a lot of time when setting up games.
Rhaeven Sep 29, 2020 @ 8:00pm
Oh, so the dynasty trees don't break anymore if you add someone unrelated like in CK2? That's awesome!
Radanos Sep 29, 2020 @ 2:54pm
a great, unexpected addition. Thanks
Stranger Sep 27, 2020 @ 4:48pm
This should have been in the base game to be honest.
PhilosopherKing Sep 27, 2020 @ 11:35am
thanks for the super adoptions
roseannadu Sep 27, 2020 @ 11:28am
So useful! Sometimes my children are just hot garbage...
