the game keeps crashing.
will there be an update that will make it playable again?
I would like to borrow some of your mod assets for a project I am working on. Sent you a steam add to discuss :)
one being something about magical metals and it increases the chances of getting extremely high quality swords
hint hint
This mod was always meant as a tide-me-over until AGOT releases, and AGOT development has been coming along smoothly, so I'll be dedicating what little time I have to working on that project and helping to get it out as soon as we can.
That being said, I've messed around with some modding stuff from VT to make a "light" version of the mod that's usable with any overhaul mod, etc. It basically just lets you convert characters to ASOIAF dynasties. I plan on releasing that "lightweight" mod when AGOT releases so that we can still get a flavour of ASOIAF in our vanilla experiences!
If I remember correctly it is deliberately impossible to create the Crownlands kingdom-tier title. It exists on the map only as a way of labelling the region, but is not actually meant to be created by anyone (the Crownlands are basically just a no-man's land until Aegon gets there and makes it his "crownlands"). You can still give yourself the title via console commands though.
The kingdom-tier titles of the other kingdoms of Westeros are also not creatable by their respective empire-tier title holders. So if you're the Emperor of the Stormlands, you can't create the Kingdom of the Stormlands while holding the Empire-tier title (would be a bit weird for the King to also hold the Lord Paramount title).
Paradox's 1.4 update surprisingly has not broken VT in any discernible manner, so I'm not going to rush to publish an update for the mod. You can safely continue using the current version of the mod in your 1.4 games.
Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to test this myself by launching a fresh game with only VT enabled, but I can't seem to replicate the problems you were having with the Targaryen, Blackfyre, and Martell sigils.
So I think this may be the result of a few possible issues: (1) a new save wasn't started, or (2) there is a submod which is looking for old (non-existent) files and breaking stuff, or (3) the classic problem of some random mod in the load order is overwriting and breaking VT.
I also wanted to mention 2 changes with the recent update:
- The slavery system has been removed. It was too expansive for me to maintain, especially given that I didn't actually make it myself and would have been maintaining someone else's code.
- A few dynasty ids (Martell, Targaryen, Blackfyre, and a couple more) were changed behind-the-scenes for simplicity's sake. I will be doing this with more Houses later on. Dynasty id changes will sadly always result in breaking people's save games.
Sadly the game isn't very good at listing title creation requirements. I have it set so that kingdom-tier titles of the Seven Kingdoms (Reach, Westerlands, etc) cannot be created if the character trying to create them has the respective empire-tier title (Empire of the Reach, Empire of the Rock, etc). So you need to destroy the empire-tier title first.
I started doing some script clean-up on files within the mod, which will undoubtedly break save games.
