UPDATE: Well, I had to unsubscribe to get back knights and commanders...

BUT, the two shield maidens I had recruited were still there as active champions. (They don't qualify under vanilla rules, but the shield maiden "tag" seems to have stuck).

Hi, I just tried the mod. All knights (Champions)and commanders disappeared.

Hope you can patch it, because the vanilla approach is very frustrating.

@TheLoneWanderer @DumbledoreDoor Appointing Shieldmaidens should be working as intended in the latest update. Thanks for commenting on the issue. Please note I bumped the prowess requirement up from 10 to 12.

have to use this mod because the game CONSTANTLY prevents me from making shieldmaidens, prowess over 12, brave traits etc, norse culture and religion,doesnt work. Thanks for this mod!

I had an issue with creating a shieldmaiden as well while playing a game with this mod... However, I cannot be sure its this mod, since I am using about 20 mods. Just to test, I used a cheat mod and boosted the characters stats and traits to be superhuman and the option to create a shieldmaiden was not available

@DevilsTinkerToy I don't believe you can make yourself a Shieldmaiden at the moment. Never tested against that path but I'll take a look at it. :)

So, if I meet all the requirements to be a shieldmaiden as a female ruler, am I not able to make myself a shieldmaiden? Or am I missing something?

I am an adult, prowess 13, have Brave trait, and I am not inbred.

Valkeryie666. I think it is necessary to teach the AI to appoint shieldmaidens and still lacks the events associated with them. By the way, a woman marshal, also among the scandinavian vikings, is strange from the point of view of historical accuracy.

Not entirely certain what exactly this means but if the fee is removed, then you will make me one happy little viking boy :)

@Wolfskrieg The fee is based on the CK2 trait, which is basically the cost of arming the shieldmaidens. I'll add a discussion post on how to remove the fee though.
