At the moment there seem to be a lot of error messages popping up when loading the mod, and actually attempting to run the scripted setup - at least for me, running in hotseat mode - is causing TTS to stop responding. The errors all appear to be "Load image failed unsupported format: UNKNOWN"

Legendary Ranger mode is on my list of things to complete. With the way the program works adding in scenario support isn't currently on the list. Apologies.

Hi all. I wanted to give a quick update on the state of the game. As I mentioned in August I had tendon injury that left me unable to really work on coding. I've mostly recovered but typing for long periods can leave my arm feeling strained. This combined with the loss of my laptop (broken screen) has left me unable to work regularly on this mod. I do plan on returning to it and adding content as quickly as possible. I apologize for the delays. My long term goal is to have this mod up to date by the end of year, including all content released by that point. Thank you to everyone who's enjoying this mod, it really is a great point of pride of mine that so many people want to see it continue.

I apologize for the lateness of the Rangers Forever update. I’ve been working on it but have hurt a tendon in my arm making it hard for me to type for long periods of time.

I’m uncertain if I’ll be able to have the update complete before the next wave of content is shipped however I will work to release this update first and then work on the Rangers United update after it is completed. I thank you all for your patience.

I’m glad you’re enjoying it @SSJB Daxam. I did originally have a plan to add in scenarios but I would need to code one in each individually. I may come back to it eventually but it is not something I’m focused on. I am working on Double Trouble Deployment Types and Psycho Assault though! I don’t think they’ll be ready for the next update with the Forever Rangers, Legacy of Evil, and Squatt and Baboo, but they are in the works.

I cannot express how much easier this mod has made my life when I get an itch to play HOTG. I love using the Psycho Rangers as monsters/bosses.

If I had one tiny critcism it's that I find it a bit hard to do the scenarios that involve extra things that are not scripted like "Double Trouble" but that's not something within your control. Cause I had an idea for a custom scenario involving the Evil Green Ranger and how once you beat him gain him as an ally either with another player controlling him or as an NPC.

Again this has really streamlined the setup process so I can play the game faster and for that I am so happy.

Unfortunately I'm going to be pushing back the released date for the new update once again. There is currently a bug in the combat system that does not allow for enemies to be defeated correctly. I will work on this and hopefully have the release this weekeend.

Just a quick update on the next update. I have finished coding in the Psycho Rangers (without Psycho Assault and Mastermind Mode) and the Machine Empire (without Double Trouble rules). I have also been making large fixes and updates to the game including but not limited too:

Quality of Life - Buttons will be transparent but color coded for ranger controls with a label on each button.
Game Modes - Last Stand, Monster Mode, 4 Card Deployment, Flat Tokens
Rule Enforcement - Locking buttons and effects during Battle to only be activated when all combat cards are drawn (this will help particularly in future coding of effects)
Bug Fixes - All reported bugs seem to have been solved as well as some that have not been reported
Automatic Energy Drain, Gain, Spend - I am currently working on tagging all Combat Cards, Zords, and Character cards that effect energy though the coding for this seems to be working.
General Optimization of Code

Once I do launch the update I will update the Instructions as needed, including new videos as many of the videos I currently have would be outmoded. I will also post comprehensive patch notes listing all bugs fixes, function changes, and new functions.

I am going to continue working on this update until either the end of the month or I get confirmation on the new expansions being shipped out, whichever comes first. While I am planning to eventually build in Psycho Assault, Master Mode, and the Double Trouble rules I believe anyone of these would cause a larger delay in releasing this already massively late update. However since I have managed to kill all the listed bugs and already made massive updates to the game in general, if I run out of things to work on well before the end of the month I will start working on Psycho Assault, Double Trouble, and Mastermind Mode in that order. I will launch the update at that point so I can work on these three while waiting on the new content.

@J Williams At current I haven't programmed most Character's abilities. I will see if I can add her's to the list of things I'm finishing/fixing up for the next release. If I do add it it would be an automatic function though and not a button press.

Loving the mod, especially since I found the 'Initiate Combat' script. Just one question, is there a script for using Lauren's(Super Samurai Red) character power? Clicking on her card doesn't seem to work like it does for others, instead just giving a printout of her ability to chat. So far we've been adding an extra energy to the pool before the end of combat and letting her take it, but I was wondering if there was another way.

@Chad I'm currently working on finishing the Psycho Ranger's Nemesis System and Psycho Rangers Boss functionality. I will be releasing an update once that and some quality of life updates are complete, before the launch of the new products. As of right now the plan is to release without the Psycho Assault or Double Trouble Deployment at this time.

Is there a tutorial for how the scripts work? Specifically with combat. I was playing with some friends and we went through combat doing things mostly manually, the board didn't recognize us removing foot soldiers from it, and then it told us we lost because all four places were panicked on our second turn

@ChildOfTheMind I love the feedback. I’ve been hearing a lot about the location of buttons, things have been a bit hectic here unfortunately and I haven’t been able to work on the mod as much as I’d like. Once I finish the update for the Psyhos and Machine Empire as well as pressing bug issues I’ll be looking into doing a pass on buttons. I’m hoping to eventually give this game HUD for each ranger to use but I’m not yet sure how feasible that would be.

I like your scripting but... why does the game rotation your orientation when selecting a color? It loads with everything facing correctly but when you go to select player color the screen rotates a complete 180 degree's for some weird reason. Not game breaking, just kinda peculiar.

Separately, may I suggest moving the deck script to be text beside the decks rather than invisibly on the deck's themselves. Same with the enemy combat cards. Visibly being able to identify what options are where would make it easier to quickly select the correct one.

Maybe even move the Recover option to be above the Discard pile so that when you go to search your discard pile you don't accidentally hit the recover option (I've done this twice now when playing with Billy).

Quick Update: Firstly I wanted to apologize to anyone who was hoping to have this updated sooner. I unfortunately came down with Covid and have had to take a break from scripting the latest updates while I recovered. I hope to begin work on this again this week however and may release smaller updates as I go to push content.

Sadly I will probably have to delay the update as both my computer and Steam has somehow lost the updated file with 3-4 weeks of work completed. I will continue to work on this project but I have to start from scratch with the update.
