This isn't the same Numidium. This is a second Numidium that the Dwemer were working on when an accident with the first one caused them to vanish, leaving this one incomplete.
And before you ask, this has nothing to do with that other Numidium from TESIII: Morrowind. That was a copy built by Dagoth Ur for his purposes.
I know it's a little complicated, but I tried to make it as lore-friendly as I could.
