However, the opposite can be stated for the 1988 cars; the turbos probably work but the function/ability to alter the turbo pressure doesn't work or not available...what the hell has happened to these mods???
Come on guys, i know there's 'real life' issues to contend with but, if you're not prepared to update your mods and amend them when required, remove them from the workshop...what's the point if they don't function right?
Thanks anyway for the hard work so far.
Thnx!!!!
However, I found a small issue at Jerez '88: there's at least one curb at a corner exit that sends my car literally flying in the air :). I'm using the default setup. It's not a big deal but it would be cool if you could take a look at it.
When HE will be done, this one will be obsolete.
There is a much more things in HE on the work but you can have pleasure with this mod in the wait of HE. ;)
(1) Is this the most up to date version (I saw a few other 86/88 versions)?
(2) Is there any way to get car icons for the menu (blank currently)?
(3) Are there any guides to setting up the cars, or suggested setups? I've done some set up work, but suspect others will be ahead of me!
(4) Is it just me or is the turbo whine a bit too loud, as compared with the main growl of the engine?
its not fun to drive with them as you have to do stupid stuff to save fuel, with a boost meter i could just drop boost down and not have to drive stupidly. i would rather take the hit to HP than being forced to drive completely stupidly
In the old F1 1988 mod there was a bug in Adelaide. When you enter the pits, there is a patch of grass on the left that makes the car float. In this update, the bug is still there. Could you please patch that?
Unfortunately, the TV cam in the 86 mod doesn't like it at all.
The view is very bad!
Why don't you make the TV cam like in the 1979 mod or like in the 1988 mod?
You picture comparison 86 to 79 version.
Please modify!

The next step is in development now and is called f1 80's historical edition.
It's a demo state to not interfere during updates with this mod.
When done, we will migrate to the historical version that will be far better ;)
What stops it from being a perfect 10/10 is the brakes are absolutely diabolical the minimalist of brake input even while trail braking and the car's back end just steps out like it's an excited puppy :)
Minor bug fixing :
- Pit entry problem in Hermanos corrected
- Correct specular effects for 86 cars
- Minor textures corrections for some cars.
thanks a lot for the answer, and again congrats for that awesome pack :)
AI cant switch updates for now so it would be unfair to have a more powerfull engine than ai in qualy.
Just the qualy tires and max turbo boost for now do the trick. And of course, your driving skills. 😉
Maybe in the futur, depends more of rf2 updates
one question : I read the pdf but I still don't understand the difference between 1986LE/CE and 1988/CE
thanks
It's a known bug from rfactor 2 and only some combos.
(search on s397 forums)
It's seems related to cpu usage problem but no real answer for now.
Thanks for the feedback.
For deAngelis, i don't know why i can't add him.
I need to search further to find where the problem is.. :s
Cheers
