It seems that the fix is very easy. You simply have to delete the previously mentioned framework.txt file (it only contains a commentary) to make everything work

Note: Local copy of the addon works fine even with the framework.txt being present

I really want to play this gamemode, but it seems that there is an issue preventing it from working

good gamemode but i could only go to wave 5 in singleplayer because its to hard, maybe make a singleplayer mode that is much more easy

@Hopeful Some traps already have an unused upgrade function. We just haven't gotten around to enable and make them functional yet :P

Flying enemies would require an upgrade of the pathfinder. It is on the list, but sadly planned for a later date.

GMan is kind of a miniboss that spawns every 5th wave. I'm also working on a few more NPC's and might make another variant.

Barriers is a topic we have been discussing for a while. However 3/7 judges from GGC have given us low points regarding "too few enemy flows", unsure if we should allow players to restrict the flow more.
(The again, I do question their judgment)

I really like this tower defense hybrid style. I had a few suggestions I thought might improve the experience:

-Upgradeable traps. It's not very apparent that floor turrets only work for a certain duration before they need to cool down. Maybe it would be possible to upgrade a trap's individual stats, or even upgrading them into alternate versions?

-Carrier enemies. Enemies that carry multiple other enemies of a similar kind, which spawn when the carrier is killed. Combine APC's, Poison Zombies, etc.

-Boss enemies. Fighting the same enemies endlessly without much variation gets kinda boring. Maybe every 5-10 waves, a boss appears?

-Placeable barriers. Half the fun of tower defense-esque games is redirecting the enemies with towers. Maybe placeable barriers/fences that redirect the flow of enemies, with the exception of stronger enemies?

Overall though, even though it's still in beta, this gamemode is pretty fun to play. I'm hoping to see more updates on it in the future!

I might have an idea. Remember to place the player-spawns nearby the pathways.
The gamemode checks for open areas near spawn and creats a list of walkable [HULL 1-10] pathways.

Try yawd_debug_paths 1 to see the pathways it scanned.
If the problem continues, add me on steam as it might be a bug.

Does the map generate a file in garrysmod/maps/graphs/<mapname>.ain?
The file also have to be larger than 1KB, as files at 1KB usually contains 0 nodes.

Released a huge patch that should fix a lot of pathfinding, lag and bugs.
Also added the new "Hunter" NPC who will hunt you down. Careful he can jump and hit hard.

Do note that the patch has fixed the way the gamemode scans maps for Core placment. Old Core placment might not be valid anymore.

The wave button is using the command "ShowSpare2" that is bound to F4 by default.
You can change this in the console with: bind <key> ShowSpare2

Is there a way to change the start wave button? My laptop makes it so when you press f4 it just closes the current program.

@GTXonRail There are some addons out there that allows you to edit the .ain file. But I'm unsure of these changes get send to players who join you.

It took some time to re-design the NPC controller, but I got them to follow and target the player (if they’re reachable).
Currently working on getting them to jump down/ up.

a) Yes, I do in fact know how to make bots. The gamemode is built around that concept.
b) No, these bots do not use NavMesh (Too expensive). They are custom bots and pathfinding
c) This gamemode is not designed for Player Bots. It is not Counter Strike, it is PvE.

PS: Do not advertise your addons on other pages.

@bailey12606 Sounds like you got a mod that conflicts with this gamemode.
Try and disable any health related addons and try again.

I have a few ideas for you as well.
Ill list them here.

* What about some sort of achievements system. Where you can have secret achievements too maybe?

* What about CPU players or BOTs as they are known? Don't know if you can do that, but i have designed player bots before. Just check out the absolute nightmare or smashing survival gamemodes if you want to see some.

* I don't know if its already planned or it is already possible, but what about a way to repair the core?

* What about adding some nextbots which go purely for players to distract them.

* As of right now, The first few waves are a bit slow, You could add something like you have to upgrade or build up the core in the earlier stages

These are all my ideas i hope it helps you make this gamemode super fun to play!

Ah, Thank you, I understand now. I would hate too see months and weeks of work go to waste. As this does look like a very promising gamemode to play. I am excited to seeing what this will look like once its done. Take your time. I have done Lua myself and i know what it feels like.
