to whoever is using this mod in 2025 and is confused about how to obtain basic gun components like myself after threw trial and error and reading the mod owners comments, Simple get research level 4 in tech and have crossbow crafting unlocked (Or bio fuel Preferably crossbow crafting) and make sure you got firearms manufacturing [ I ] unlocked cause [ II ] will be the one to unlock basic gun component's.

P.S. Figured i would put this info in here cause it was hell for me to figure this out on my own and threw the comment section only providing limited key details to look out for, Hope this helps someone looking for a good gun mod but do expect no gun sounds (Yet) just crossbow sfx still i love this mod.

so if their not allready could you make a custom quiver a bullet bag cause as is I'm using wood frame packs for my gunners and I know the ammo goes in quivers but it looks dumb to have a quiver of arrows on a guy holding a gun

Under crafting will appear "basic gun smithy", locked behind firearms manufacture and crossbow crafting.

how do you get the blueprints? I have a "guns" section on the technologies thing but nothing shows up, my tech is level 3.

For only the turret you could go in the FCS and delete the records for the other weapons added but not the records that are dependent on the weapons, shouldn't break the mod, a custom vendor would sell only crossbows and some NPCs might be unarmed.

Is there any way to get just the turrets without all the other guns? I'm running a WW1 overhaul, I've already sorted the guns with being accurate to the time period and vibe, but there are ZERO turret mods for kenshi that make any turret a gun. Laser turret, but that is all.

Ranger shops, way stations bars but they are rare, tech hunter shops, tech hunter ranger shops, the scraphouse should have them more , or craft them.

Where do you find steel spikes?

with Re_Kenshi out, is it possible youll ever try to add sounds to the guns, by tying the shooting to the sound it makes when reloading?

For shops the only ones that sell them are the scraphouse and the store in cheaters run. For enemies try noble hunters, skeletons in the sniper valley and nearby regions,the ashlands should have some.

Hi, love the mod and have over 20 hours with the mod. Just now noticed that the ancient rifle is a thing, how can I find more of them consistently? I found 1 at the scrapyard but thats it

Sounds are weird to implement. From what I know (and I might be wrong, I haven't kept up with what other mods can and can't do) sound can't be added, any existing sounds are tied to animations and the further you are from the character that does the animation the quieter it is.There is sound I've added to the weapons (in a very scuffed way) and you can hear it only if you get very very very close to the character that is shooting.

Idk of this has been asked yet or it may be impossible to implement as I do not know how to code or how coding works in Kenshi but will there be an update where the guns actually make gun sounds? Like say the Holy musket sounds like a Napoleonic Era style musket when fired etc...

Other gun and bullet blueprints can be bought or found trough the world, in lost libraries, crossbow shops, holy weapons shops, western hive traders, the scraphouse. Generaly if it sells crossbows and crossbow blueprints it should also sell gun blueprints.

For some reason my Gun Smithy only lets me craft the Basic gun components, Advanced gun components, and the Pipe Rifle. Ive researched everything except the Ancient Prototype its just never let me craft anything besides those 3 things. Is there another crafting bench that im missing? Thank you!

This mod distributes the weapons added to vendors and factions in the game, with the Forgotten Construction Set(comes with the game) you can modify the mod itself so that the additions don't appear on vendors or enemies anymore.

hi a friend of mine is wanting a gun mod and this seems great altho he wants to be a solo player and be the only person with a gun. or at least only one that can use a gun. is that possible?

@H I verified on my end with a new game with only the mod running and it works on my end. Firearms manufacturing requires Biofuel and Crossbow Crafting to be researched due to Kenshi deciding that some research should only appear after its requirements are done if you research one of these the research requirements it should appear. I'm going to fix this soon.

The firearm manufacture is not appearing for me at all, I checked all the research sections, neither is the gun smithy in build mode. I tried everything I could, I tried disabling every other mod, verifying files, importing another new game, resubscribing, but none of it works. Is there other ways to fix this? Thanks.

@H The gun smithy should be in the crafting section when you are in build mode and you need to research the prototype blueprint at the bench and firearms manufacture III at a tier 6 research bench before making the rifle. The firearm manufacture research is in the smithing section in the research menu.
