Don't know if you're still active but this mod isn't showing up on my game when I go to enable it for some reason
VacuumTube  [author] Jul 6, 2022 @ 6:02am
No. The parameters for streets and tracks are static (unfortunately).
ThatOldGamer Jul 5, 2022 @ 2:46pm
I like the mod, but is there any way to make this so values can be changed while laying track? Having to save, return to the main menu and reload the map just to change the embankment slope to get a decent-looking match for the particular stretch of terrain I'm working on is a real pain in the ass.
VacuumTube  [author] Feb 26, 2022 @ 11:47pm
Yes, see mod settings

Can it be made to adjust the inclination? Otherwise, the train will not have a real sense of turning
VacuumTube  [author] Feb 22, 2022 @ 1:52pm
yes but I think there are dedicated mods for that
briansyston Feb 22, 2022 @ 1:46pm
Narrow gauge lines go up steep slopes so can i do steep slopes by adding this mod ?
VacuumTube  [author] Feb 20, 2022 @ 2:14am
what you mean help?
you can adjust the maximum slope of all tracks in the settings
briansyston Feb 19, 2022 @ 6:22am
Will this help with steep narrow gauge lines ?
Tumble Trash᠌ ⁧⁧ Official May 9, 2021 @ 1:44am
ok, thanks!
VacuumTube  [author] May 9, 2021 @ 12:54am
Yes, it will only affect new track
Tumble Trash᠌ ⁧⁧ Official May 8, 2021 @ 2:05pm
is this safe to add mid game?
Stormlover_51 Jan 15, 2021 @ 8:15am
It works. I like it. Thank you.

This mod is essential if you want to build railways that are operated by early low powered steam locomotives that cannot cope with steep gradients when pulling a useful load. So if your game starts in 1850 this mod is a 'must have'.
VacuumTube  [author] Aug 23, 2020 @ 3:01am
Not really because the game physics is hardcoded. You could increase cargo weight or decrease traction force, but this also influences acceleration in general.
Toprus100 Aug 23, 2020 @ 2:37am
From what I've read, the game calculates the effect of the slope on the train as if the slope was one third of the actual slope, do you think there is a possibility to do a script mod adding realistic slope impact on trains? i want them to feel the 2% and not just go over it like it's nothing

--- Update v1.1---
Now there is a Checkbox where you can switch "Embankment Slope High" off. With on, the slope is enforced even with higher terrain differences. Maybe that will solve the problems like @Stealthy described.
Eventually you need to set the values again if you changed them in the mod settings (due to key change for reasons of safety in this still bugged settings system).
If you edited mod.lua because of extending the range, unfortunately this needs to be repeated. At the top you find "ParamBuilder.range(0.005, 0.1, 0.005)". You can adjust this: (start, end, step).
I am not planning any more updates.

If you still want short (steep) tunnel entrys, increase the value Max Slope in the mod settings
vitalii201 Aug 22, 2020 @ 11:01am
VacuumTube, when this mod is turned on, the length of the entrance to the tunnel from CTE mod has to be made very long. Changing the boot order doesn't help. I don't understand scripts at all and hoped what could be done so that the actions of this mod would not apply to those tunnels.
No, so - no.
VacuumTube  [author] Aug 22, 2020 @ 10:54am
@Toprus100
Yes the game physics aren't perfect but in general it's not that bad I think. The effects of heavy, weak and full/empty trains are visible. I don't know how they calculated the influence of the slope, maybe they simplified it for gameplay reasons.
VacuumTube  [author] Aug 22, 2020 @ 10:47am
@vitalii201
I am not sure what you mean. The idea of this mod is to limit track slope. So you can either change the value of max slope or increase length of the Tunnel Entry
Toprus100 Aug 21, 2020 @ 11:22pm
Very cool mod, thank you a lot. It's a shame the physics aren't realistic though :/. A train on 20‰ would already be struggling a lot while in the game it just goes max speed
vitalii201 Aug 21, 2020 @ 2:24am
Can you add Compact Tunnel Entry to the exceptions? Exit to the main menu to disable Realistic Railway Slopes, if you need to build a tunnel from that mod, is not very convenient.
VacuumTube  [author] Jul 31, 2020 @ 1:35pm
you can change the range in the mod.lua
you just need to edit the end value in range(start, end, step) - the rest does itself
iDontlikeTheworld Jul 31, 2020 @ 8:21am
Can I pursue steeper embankment slopes and railway slopes?
Stealthy Jul 29, 2020 @ 1:38am
Thanks for looking into this. I've added 3 screenshots to my library showing the case I'm talking about.
VacuumTube  [author] Jul 28, 2020 @ 3:53pm
I will update this mod later with an option to not change EmbankmentSlopeHigh, maybe that's the problem
VacuumTube  [author] Jul 28, 2020 @ 12:25am
I am not sure what you mean. Changing the game configs that control at which height automatically a bridge or tunnel is proposed?
Stealthy Jul 27, 2020 @ 11:14am
Is there a way to limit how high up this cutting is limited? After all, one would tunnel after say 20m down from the surface or so, so it doesn't need to spread conically any higher than that?
Jackie Shay Jul 13, 2020 @ 7:06am
Yes, I adjusted the value higher and lower with no change. It worked initially when I first loaded it, but it stopped working in subsequent loads.
VacuumTube  [author] Jul 13, 2020 @ 3:41am
Did you set the value higher? Otherwise send me stdout
Jackie Shay Jul 12, 2020 @ 10:59am
I am having problems with the embankment part of this mod, the embankment slope setting is just not responding and leaving a very shallow slope no matter the setting; which causes weird terrain cutting in steep areas.
VacuumTube  [author] Jul 12, 2020 @ 10:13am
No. You can only built embankments first, then load the game with higher value and build cuts.
Stealthy Jul 12, 2020 @ 7:30am
Is it possible to separate embankment angle from the cutting angle? Would be nice to get wide slopes on embankment but up to 90 degree sharp cuts to mimic rocky areas and cuts through them. Currently both sides are affected by this mod.
VacuumTube  [author] Jul 11, 2020 @ 12:54am
No, it's just setting the maximum slope
rb58nl Jul 10, 2020 @ 6:36pm
?? Can you set the slope already before placing the track? (we have something like that in TPF1, website)
VacuumTube  [author] Jul 10, 2020 @ 2:38pm
It works for all loaded tracks. A list of all tracks is also written to stdout with a hint if one has a own slope value.
Dourbracken Jul 10, 2020 @ 10:32am
Ohh, thank you ever so much!
Gregory_TheGamer Jul 10, 2020 @ 8:04am
Finally! Thanks man! Does this work for modded tracks too that are simply modified vanilla tracks?
