Habitat AI colonisation fix

Is this still necessary for 3.14.159?
Wearo May 18, 2024 @ 4:28am
AzoorFox - No update is needed. Your launcher just gives you warning because the number of this mods version is different from the version of the game. The content of the mod is still functional, because Stellaris hasn't updated or overwritten their own content regarding AI habitat preferences.
In layman terms - do you buy a new car because you need a new license plate? The car is the content, the license plate is the version. The author only needs to open the text file and write 2 different numbers. Nothing will change in the end.
OldEnt  [author] May 12, 2024 @ 10:47am
This does not need an update AFAIK.
AzoorFox Sep 21, 2023 @ 5:44pm
UPDATE WHEN?????
Taipan Mar 20, 2023 @ 1:44pm
Nope, it's not, this is not a fix, it's a preference, overwriting AI behavior which is designed to work depending on difficulty levels, resources, etc.
Taipan Feb 4, 2023 @ 10:53am
Is this still needed? AI still dum dum? Thanks.
Marcus Arabela Jan 8, 2023 @ 10:33am
I forgot to mention, thanks for this mod! I have been reluctant to use the Real Space - Planetary Stations mod since the AI didn't know how to effectively use them, but now will be giving the mod a try thanks to your efforts. :steamhappy:

The launcher isn't broken, the mod info just hasn't been updated showing it's compatible with the current Stellaris version. It's a little tiresome and ends up requiring the mod being re-downloaded by every subscriber, but insures everyone knows what version it's compatible with. A lot of mods do this, but it's a choice of the mod owner/creator/maintainer whether they take time to do this.

It helps remove confusion from the player base, who might not be as savvy with modding Stellaris, whether a mod is compatible with the current version of Stellaris.

I update the mod info, after verifying nothing needs to be changed, for my small custom race mods after every Stellaris update.

There is no wrong or right way to this, just a choice.
OldEnt  [author] Nov 30, 2022 @ 3:30pm
There is no update needed because nothing has changed in the mod between versions. Warning in the launcher is meaningless, even if it is broken.
AzoorFox Nov 30, 2022 @ 6:32am
WDYM? IT CLEARLY SAYS "MOD IS MADE FOR ANOTHER VERSION OF THIS GAME" SO A UPDATE IS NEEDED.
OldEnt  [author] Nov 30, 2022 @ 5:27am
Because your launcher broke.
AzoorFox Nov 30, 2022 @ 5:04am
SO WHY DOES IT SAYS "MOD IS MADE FOR ANOTHER VERSION OF THIS GAME"????
OldEnt  [author] Nov 29, 2022 @ 3:20pm
Month ago.
AzoorFox Nov 29, 2022 @ 3:12pm
UPDATE WHEN?
OldEnt  [author] Oct 23, 2022 @ 9:43am
Bumped descriptor to 3.6. Ignore launcher warning, there are no changes and works fine on both 3.5 and 3.6.
T145 Sep 17, 2022 @ 7:48pm
@OldEnt Nice; many thanks! :steamthumbsup:
OldEnt  [author] Sep 17, 2022 @ 6:09pm
T145: Done. Fortunately Planetary Stations is well written and it was a matter of adding just a single line of script.
T145 Sep 16, 2022 @ 8:24pm
Can we get compatibility with "Real Space - Planetary Stations?" Mod link here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2775968897

You clearly fail to understand.
A person who is asking a question cannot be right or wrong.
Only a person making a statement can be.

I _asked_ you if this was the cause of the strange game behaviour, because I did not know.
I cannot be right or wrong because I am not making a statement.

You claiming I am wrong is absurd.
OldEnt  [author] Sep 12, 2022 @ 3:34pm
You are wrong. This mod does not deal with "prioritisation". It starts a colony on any existing habitat within borders.
WWDragon Sep 12, 2022 @ 3:27pm
I can't be wrong.
I asked a question; not made a statement.. :steamsalty:

I suppose I need to find another mod to fix the prioritisation....:steamsad:
OldEnt  [author] Sep 12, 2022 @ 3:13pm
WWDragon: You are completely wrong. This mod has nothing to do with it.
WWDragon Sep 12, 2022 @ 2:53pm
Addendum: they build them from scratch too, rather then go for planets.
WWDragon Sep 12, 2022 @ 2:53pm
When I have this installed, the ai seem to ONLY go for habitats and never for planets, even when they are size 25 and their ideal type.

Does this set the priority for the habitats or is that vanilla behaviour?
OldEnt  [author] May 26, 2022 @ 2:57am
Do not use zip, it is outdated. I should probably delete it, I have no time to support it.
lyndonguitar May 26, 2022 @ 12:35am
@OldEnt, sorry I'm still confused..
I want to restore AI building Planetary Habitats, downloading the zip and installing it will restore it, right?
OldEnt  [author] May 23, 2022 @ 3:54am
Ignore everything below #####. I no longer modify Planetary Diversity.
lyndonguitar May 23, 2022 @ 12:00am
Sorry, but I'm confused by the description... AI building Planetary Habitats = is it disabled as of now or is it enabled?
OldEnt  [author] May 15, 2022 @ 7:31am
- Updated descriptor to 3.4.*. Confirmed it is still working.
OldEnt  [author] May 14, 2022 @ 7:16am
Load order does not matter for this mod.
Orionox May 14, 2022 @ 7:00am
so I just put this after PD in the load order right? if PD is 15, I place this at 16
Hot Wet Nobel Laureates May 13, 2022 @ 1:23pm
Ok, thanks!
OldEnt  [author] May 13, 2022 @ 1:22pm
I don't see a reason why it shouldn't. I did not change code for several patches now.
Hot Wet Nobel Laureates May 13, 2022 @ 12:54pm
Does this still work with 3.4?
OldEnt  [author] Apr 29, 2022 @ 3:14pm
If they use the same districts as vanilla habitats then yes. Otherwise no. If you think there is an issue with AI not colonising them let me know and I'll add them.
Shizuri Apr 29, 2022 @ 2:24pm
Does this affect Real space planetry Station?
arieviloj Mar 27, 2022 @ 1:38pm
I understood. I just interpreted your phrase "But it would be worth mentioning in the description I think" as if you were using the mod. Anyway tnx for the report ill test w out this mod.
xor Mar 27, 2022 @ 1:09pm
@Arievilo Without. Otherwise my comments wouldn't make sense.
arieviloj Mar 27, 2022 @ 12:37pm
@xor did you see the AI colonize lots of habitats w this mod or w out? tnx
xor Mar 23, 2022 @ 3:47am
Yeah ok, makes sense. I think the difference that in some past versions they did never colonize while currently they actually do. Lots of. Was annoying to concquer. But like you said maybe with some delay of building.
But would be worth mentioning in the description I think.
OldEnt  [author] Mar 23, 2022 @ 3:40am
for: From a limited testing I saw AI not colonising *immediately* but maybe it does later on. I would not know. The mod works and is here for anyone wishing to use it.
xor Mar 23, 2022 @ 3:22am
btw since 3.3 this mod doesn't seem necessary anymore? At least in my games the AI build and colonized lots of habitats.
OldEnt  [author] Mar 23, 2022 @ 1:27am
spectre199: I don't the reason it would not work. Unless AlphaMod completely changes how habitats work (unlikely). Worst case nothing happens.
spectre199 Mar 23, 2022 @ 12:16am
will this work with AlphaMod 3.3 that one makes changes
OldEnt  [author] Feb 22, 2022 @ 4:56pm
- Updated descriptor to 3.3.*.
falhxer Jan 24, 2022 @ 5:10am
aaaaand the AI still broken, pdx, srly...
Big Sneezy Dec 12, 2021 @ 12:03am
I think the only significant difference between the current habitat files and the files that allow PD habitats is in pdgasgianthabitat. Compare the two and you'll see some updates that can be copied over to the PD version.
OldEnt  [author] Nov 23, 2021 @ 12:59am
This mod works in 3.2.1. I will bump descriptor version today or tomorrow.
OldEnt  [author] Nov 21, 2021 @ 5:20am
For permanent 3.1.2 copy use 3.0.4 version . There are no changes and I don't expect to make any in 3.2 too, at least not until after Christmas.
OldEnt  [author] Oct 31, 2021 @ 8:12pm
@Gerishnakov: Only with zip file AI will build PD Habitats, but I haven't updated zip in a while so don't use it.
