Very very nice for detailing, tho less nice for just playing because of how the game menus work. So many variations...
baronjutter Sep 26, 2024 @ 2:10pm
I wish the steel arch bridges had built in pillars or something, too fiddly doing it manually. But the other one-and-done bridges are great!
bihi6767 Mar 31, 2024 @ 2:12am
Thank you very much
SteelRodent Nov 6, 2023 @ 1:01am
Amazing work on these. A bit fiddly figuring out how to use them, and how the asset bits go together. I've yet to get the preset pillar spacing to fit my arches, so have to place them individually, but maybe I'm just making way too long steel arch bridges. They look amazing either way.
BigC2004 Mar 1, 2023 @ 4:08pm
bit of a late update, i forgot about the FPS tuning mod that basically simplifies all the textures, so now that that is gone all your wonderful bridges look wonderful again
JK  [author] Mar 1, 2023 @ 11:08am
@chrisadams1982 - Thanks. I started a version with horizontal girder base and brick top/parapet. Maybe more asset pillar types. Probably won't be that soon tho.
chrisadams1982 Feb 28, 2023 @ 9:58am
Brilliant mod, any plans for the future?
BigC2004 Jan 6, 2023 @ 3:53pm
i dont think that will help, all of my textures for most things appear to be broken. i have no idea what is wrong with the game, wasnt like this last time i played it
JK  [author] Jan 6, 2023 @ 3:10pm
@BigC2004 - Nothing has been changed on it recently. You could try, with the game closed, unsubscribe from the mod, wait a few minutes, then re-subscribe.
BigC2004 Jan 6, 2023 @ 2:32pm
ok, ive found an issue where the textures are not loading in at all, all bridges look like plastic and very low res, not sure why but ive changed all the settings as best as possible, not sure why they are doing that now
BigC2004 Aug 2, 2022 @ 12:36pm
i literally just found that out after reading about the assets, and then went in game to test it out and found out how to do it. thanks anyway
JK  [author] Aug 2, 2022 @ 9:48am
@BigC2004 - For the metal arch bridges the pillars need adding manually as assets. There's an example in the video : https://youtu.be/SECfYhxXsR0?t=565
BigC2004 Aug 1, 2022 @ 12:35pm
those metal arch bridges dont have pillars, is there something else i need for that to work or is there some sort of error with the pack. have also downloaded the asset pack and the mighty adjustable station if that helps
Gazac Sep 4, 2021 @ 9:37pm
Hi, I can't get it to download
JK  [author] Aug 9, 2021 @ 1:09pm
The mod's 115 UI icons have now all been remade to match the game's new UI system.
Skara-Baeus Jul 16, 2021 @ 9:15am
Hello. I like these bridges a lot. Is a great mod. Would be great if you could customize the icons. Thank you for your work
JK  [author] Jul 14, 2021 @ 10:46am
The original icons in this mod don't fit well with the new horizontal menu introduced in the game's latest update. I expect to get some time to sort this out around the end of this month.
JK  [author] Apr 1, 2021 @ 12:46pm
@Norfolk_Chris - Yeah, the relation to road width is another I'll try and look at some point.
Norfolk_Chris Apr 1, 2021 @ 3:44am
The abutment is currently designed to suit only rail over-bridges, offering a choice of the number of tracks. I would be amazing if we could also have a version to suit road over-bridges, offering a choice of the standard in-game road widths. (The existing rail abutments do not match the widths of the in-game roads.)
I know that is a big ask, but I think many users would greatly appreciate this.
JK  [author] Mar 31, 2021 @ 2:36pm
@GeckoGames - Thanks. I think I know what you mean. Currently there's only the road mode, where it's offset from the cursor. Where positioning the cursor at 45 deg angle from where the road will cross the railway gives about the right position for the road pillar. It's something I'll look into improving next time I update it.
GeckoGames Mar 31, 2021 @ 2:13pm
Hey @JK, this is a need have mod for doing anything UK related and this mod is one of the first I subscribed to when I first got the game, and I have used it ever since. My only irk is when I want to place pillars from assets they sit parallel to the track. I wish there was an option to have them perpendicular to the track so as to make it easier (or there is and im just dumb) to mark where the roads are to be placed. I dont want to feel rude, im just wondering if it was intended or not?
JK  [author] Feb 25, 2021 @ 10:56am
@Ghostboy5 - Thanks, you're welcome.
Ghostboy5 Feb 24, 2021 @ 2:36pm
Thank you @JK. Some users may not even have noticed this issue given they may have got your new update via Steam before they even relaunched the game with the new version. I want to acknowledge it though. Not only are these bridges indispensable and wonderful eye-candy, but you've gone out of your way to keep them updated. I can't thank you enough, sir!
shaunus82 Feb 23, 2021 @ 12:31pm
Just to let you know, I can confirm that the bridges are perfect again now, and thank you again for fixing this so quickly.
JK  [author] Feb 23, 2021 @ 10:07am
This mod has now been updated with the fix for Stone Viaducts (mentioned below) for the new game update. If anyone finds any further issues on the new version of game and latest version of this mod, please let me know.

I didn't include any new features or improvements in this update of the mod, to keep things simple, but I still plan to improve it when I get time in the future.
JK  [author] Feb 23, 2021 @ 10:03am
@shaunus82 - Thanks, glad you like it.
shaunus82 Feb 23, 2021 @ 9:48am
I just came on here to report the fault with the bridges after the new update, but it seems, you are already fixing, and being as I use your bridges all the time, I'm really grateful, so thank you very much.
JK  [author] Feb 21, 2021 @ 11:35am
I've now developed a fix for the issue with segments appearing in the wrong places on the 4 Stone Viaducts in this mod when using the Testing Version. When the game update is released, later that day I'll update this mod with that fix.
JK  [author] Jan 30, 2021 @ 2:59am
@Enzojz - Thanks, I'll check it out.
Enzojz Jan 29, 2021 @ 2:29pm
@JK
I have also just updated my fbx(3dsmax) model converter, where I have just added vertex weight calculate function for bridge projects, hope it will be useful to you.

@TheJordanGould - The mod is due an update and others have also suggested similar, so I will be looking into assets etc. Some people creatively use the current bridge pillar assets at full track width to make retaining ways.
TheJordanGould Jan 26, 2021 @ 5:25am
Is there any way to have the side skirting and that sort of thing as assets as well. Im making Glasgow Central at the moment and it would really help with the bridge and station entry
JK  [author] Jan 21, 2021 @ 11:34am
@Enzojz - Thanks. This mod is due an update, as I think it has issues with the game's latest update that is testing. So I'll look into it.
Enzojz Jan 21, 2021 @ 1:49am
Hi, I made a mod for automatic abutment suppoprt, it would be nice if your mod supports it.

@PeuRacer - Thanks. I only do British stuff. Maybe one of continental modders would be interested in doing that bridge.
PeugeotRacer Oct 29, 2020 @ 11:19am
I love your bridges and I really enjoy building them.
Could you possibly also implement something like that?

nice
NanoCE Aug 27, 2020 @ 10:40am
Thanks, I appreciate the effort.
JK  [author] Aug 27, 2020 @ 9:51am
@NanoCE - Thanks for explaining. I don't plan any updates to this mod soon (I have quite a few others to do), but it seems feasible, so it's something I'll look into when I come to doing more on it.
NanoCE Aug 26, 2020 @ 2:00pm
I understand asking for anything is selfish of me since I don't support this mod so please just take it as a suggestion if you have the time. I really appreciate the detail the existing bridges have and is honestly one of my favorite mods on the workshop right now. Thanks for the consideration.
NanoCE Aug 26, 2020 @ 1:55pm
That was an awful description on my part. Let me put it this way, another bridge type for each of the stones already added that instead of bridge pilliars, its just one continous stone wall the track is on top of. It would be as wide as the start/end buttresses pieces and look seemless if used after them. Maybe even have an arched inlay simliar to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canton_Viaduct#/media/File:Canton_Viaduct.jpg
JK  [author] Aug 26, 2020 @ 9:38am
@NanoCE - Not quite sure what you're suggesting there? Can you give more detail or link to an example image. Thanks.
NanoCE Aug 26, 2020 @ 8:40am
I would like to suggest a pure bridge support bridge type that matches all the stone bridges this mod adds.
Exeed Aug 20, 2020 @ 5:44am
Too bad the bridges are not separated by category otherwise excellent mod
thomas.hopper94 Aug 15, 2020 @ 9:34am
good
Fish Man Aug 13, 2020 @ 4:12am
This is the best selection of bridges so far. I especially love the steel ones. Awesome for some end XIX/early XX century infrasctructure!
Stealthy Jul 27, 2020 @ 6:07am
Great bridges but bit too complicated to get them right from a very crowded build menu without magnifying class on 4K resolution. I wish there was a way to handle these like stations or other buildings which can be configured afterwards.
JK  [author] Jul 22, 2020 @ 1:13am
@nary_believe - Yes, that was probably part of the reason too. If it were in halves, the game would also put a half onto each end (like the standard stone arches) and would be able to put a flat segment in between two halves. Those are the limitations of the standard code, and doing other code variations gets much more complex. Thanks.
nary_believe Jul 21, 2020 @ 5:46pm
PS - Beautiful work! Rude of me to not lead with that
nary_believe Jul 21, 2020 @ 1:58pm
@JK Gotcha. I was looking at adding pillars for my own convenience and they ended up appearing at every *other* arch (the same actually happens in 5c as well). It looks like UG expects your model to represent *half* of the span between pillars and your models represent the full span between pillars. Have you considered chopping your models in half? Or does that have other nasty consequences I haven't thought of.
