Are they not starting as you vassals? That's probably a bug. Even the though I think the empire federation benefits are quite strong

I'm a bit confused about the Empire origin, it seems like it's really weak as you don't get the economic benefits of actually having vassals, or the normal federation benefits of the vanilla federation types.

Am I just misunderstanding? Please let me know.

Machine intelligence's and Hive Minds should also have access to the origin I feel. Like a Rogue Servitor trying to "protect" weaker organic empires under it

Having an issue. When I declare war on another nation, the rest of the "federation" does not join in on the war. They will appear on the initial war goals screen, and then the vote screen, but once the war starts it is just my nation participating.

while waiting for the update i made crude 'fix' by adding

federation_leader_diplo_weight_contribution_add = 0.5

to the first federation perk, if anyone else has the issue.

hello! just reporting a bug :3 it used to be that transferred diplomatic influence was removed from subjects (iirc) but in recent games that i have tried with the empire origin the diplomatic influence was not transferred from, just added to. as a result, subjects keep their base diplomatic influence while part of the empire, but the crown still gets the bonus. additionally, upon loading into the game it takes a tick for the game to register the diplomatic weight addition, meaning the crown is at their base diplomatic influence for a tick. this can cause a subject to supersede the crown if they possess a higher base diplomatic weight than the crown nation for that starting tick. wanted to see if its on my end, and if not wanted to make sure you knew! thanks for making my fave origin in this game it really rocks :)

@Kaiserin - Very interesting. I'll update this mod for 3.14 soon enough, but really don't know how it could be causing a crash in that manner. I'll look into it.

This mod might not be fully 3.14 Compatible. In my late game playthrough with this mod as a part of my load order I was experiencing a consistent crash on the first of the month. After turning this mod off and leaving my other ones enabled I managed to get past the crash. I saw that on the first of the month one of my vassals in the federation was getting a rebellion which seemed to be causing the crash. Even with just this mod enabled on a empty load order I still experience the crash on that date.

Just posting this here to see if it's only a problem on my end or not. I also use it with your "Vassals Expanded and Reworked" mod in case that helps. Your mods are great and they are perfect for my feudal empire playthroughs.

How to remove the civic requirement? I'm using a species with their own ethic and it doesn't count as imperial so I can't select feudal society.

There does not appear to be a way to change the federation centralization. There is nothing under the centralization laws. Maybe I missed something. May you please respond at your earlist conveince.

Also just curious. Your mod "Ethics&Civics Alternative" have russian localization or not?
I'm actually love Classical version for it's immersive, but sinse it's not updated yet (and I always want to try Alt.version) I want check your mod, but still not sure bc didn't know about localization

Oh, and another reason is that Hive minds are very strong because this federation is stronger than all the other ones giving them access to it felt like another bonus for them.

Yus. Collective and non-individualistic machine empires isn't about making vassals of organics, just consume and assimilate them (or simply exterminate)

Didn't like how it played. Gestalts also seemed more likely to leave the federation when they were the leader when they started with the Origin, which made no sense.

The idea of a hive-mind having imperial ambitions just doesn't make much sense to me.

Updated. Empire federation members are no longer required to be vassals. As a consequence, Imperialism war goal federation perk has been restored. Gestalts can no longer form Empire federations.

The way i see it, when you bring a vassal into Empire, you grant them more autonomy (they no longer pay you tribute, you no longer have holdings on their planet, they no longer limited diplomatically, etc) and in exchange, they have to pay you military tithe (fleet contribution instead of resources) and abide by Empire laws (aka go to war when Crown tells you to). Basically you are giving up on resources you can squeeze from "vassals" in exchange for "free" federation fleet and no divided patronage, aka unlimited amount of "pseudo-vassals"
Finally, if you have to keep every member of federation as vassal, you essentially have a hard cap on how many federation members you can have, which makes it impossible to become true Galactic Emperor (at least on bigger maps with more AI's) (simple fix to that might be to remove divided patronage on vassals who are members of empire federation but that might be too strong? Might need some additional negatives to balance it out?)

All of the bonuses that you get from the federation perks? This is not a bug, this is intended. They cannot leave as they please, you removed them (by releasing them as a vassal).

If you are part of an empire and not leading it, you are basically, by definition, a vassal. Explain this: if you are the emperor of an empire, and a nation falls under your jurisdiction, how are they not your vassal? If you can make that make sense, maybe I will consider changing it.

After i subjugate an empire, and then offer federation association status, they automatically join the Federation (they dont join federation at the moment of subjugation even if the subjugation contract set to limited diplomacy - bug?) But once they are part of the federation, i release them from vassalage (to make room for new targets, divided patronage sucks) and expect them to stay in federation, since they are now part of the Empire, not just your vassal, but instead they immediately leave the federation without asking for your permission. Whats the point of federation, if you need to keep all members as vassals? Might as well make your vassals join all your wars and join trade federation or something. Not to mention that Empire is not an Empire if kingdoms can leave as they please. Am i missing something here or is that a bug?
