What does Down Special Do?

Every time I see a character like this that feels like they fit in Rivals I get so excited to try them, and Chef is no exception. After playing with him for about 30 mins I'm already loving him, though I will admit I looked into his Grill a bit deeper than I should have. I kept looking for a move to light it with and just thought I was doing it wrong, glad I came here to find out it's a mobile platform before I went crazy trying different stuff.

Now, you aren't entirely wrong, many people out there are just trolls. Because this is the internet, and people are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Don't lower yourself to their level, don't tire yourself out picking pointless fights and literally just feeding the trolls, you're above that. Let them do their thing, if you made a character half as decent as you say, it's quality will speak for itself, people will continue to use the mod and even favorite it, leave positive reception. Let your work speak for itself, and don't lower yourself to the same level as random internet trolls, that's what Yan-dev does. You can be far better than that.

Assuming you didn't delete any more comments a singular person said he didn't like your work, and you blew up with a multi-paragraph essay about how it is an amazing character. Do you see the game Devs doing this? No. People are entitled to their opinions, and are allowed to dislike things just as they are allowed to enjoy them. Similarly, it is important to separate yourself from your work: Saying a mod is "basic" is not an insult directed at you. And also understand that anything you make is not going to be perfect, or for anyone. With so many creative minds out there, it is a bit presumptuous to assume chef could win any contest you put it in, no?

You don't understand how workshop devs feel when they get sent this inane ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Most of my friends are workshop devs and they get equally ignorant comments on their hard- and incredibly competent- work. I'm really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sick of the fact that steam comments think that they have the authority to bully workshop developers with their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ opinions as if we asked to hear your critique. We have shared presentation teams and balancing teams working day-in and day-out to refine and polish the top workshop characters.
I appreciate wanting to talk about something you're passionate about, but you're not passionate about these characters. These are just harmful comments that you and your peers are posting on mine and my friends' lifeblood and they won't say or do anything about it. Maybe you're the ones who are letting your position go to your head?

I'm not gonna judge how good or bad the mod is since I don't have a ton of experience, but you appear to have let some of the popularity go to your head, author.

Regarding Stormghetti's critiques of the character, I personally find them to be sound in a very narrow context: a majority of (if not arguably all) non-special moves are rather basic. There's nothing wrong with this, especially if your character already has some interesting tech in his specials or some passive ability- which Chef certainly has plenty of. That being said I was hoping for as much creativity in at least some of the non-special moves, but there wasn't really any to be had.

Still a very fun & deep character with a lot going on, but if I'm going to be honest I'm getting "c. falcon with a platform attack" vibes.

Al...right, man. I was willing to apologize, but I didn't attack you, so I don't see why you needed to go off on me either. I didn't mean to say the moveset's "unoriginal" (bad choice of words), just something I'm already used to seeing, coming from a Smash player. I'm willing to admit my comment about the moveset came off a little aggressively and was unneeded in the end, but one can be civil about this. I don't know what kind of people you have to deal with sometimes, but I'm personally not sure if I deserved that comment either, but whatever.

With that being said, I apologize and now I perfectly understand the motives behind this character. Sorry for the trouble.

Oh and hey Mr Stormghetti, if you return- your comment has been deleted for being completely unnecessary negativity with no critique or insightful thought whatsoever. You'll find that Chef is a character that's designed to represent a hyperbolic idea of pure rushdown, with a selection of moves that complement the fundamentals of typical Rivals play.
In other words, what you're seeing as "unoriginal" is one of the cleanest recreations of the base cast design philosophy on the workshop. This character wasn't made for you. They were made for people who enjoy the passion and love that goes into the perfect kit, and people who want to demonstrate their creativity in exploring that kit in tournament.
Kindly ♥♥♥♥ off before leaving this kind of comment again. I can only imagine how someone less resilient than me would react to seeing such blatant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on their workshop page.
