Better Terrain Brushes

I just realized might be the cause for my strong brushes. I was trying to edit the terrain and it just shoots up quick without grace even at the weakest setting. I will try changing minimum brush strength manually back to x1.

This mod is great. It helps so much when building large cities and a mountain gets in the way

Great mod, thank you.

Great mod ... and thanks for the 2.0 update which is just what it needed.

I also experience that the strength of the brush is not what it’s supposed to be after the update. Will try DownFlex’s P holding workaround.

Ok I don't know why, but I found a temporary fix. If I hold "P" for a bit, the brush switches from the game's max to your mod's max. I don't understand why, but I'm not complaining...

Hm weird... Are there some ways I could try and fix it? (Already tried: different load order, reactivating, new game) But it stays as weak as the original brush...

@DownFlex : weird because the mod still works fine for me.

Hey just wanted to let you know that the new update broke your mod. The intensity of the brush is back to normal. Would be absolute amazing, if you could update the mod! :)

Makes terrain adjustments much easier. I like it a lot.

@oldgamer : eventualy. If I remind well, we just need to add the .tga files to the brushes folder. you can click on my avatar and ask for getting in touch.
OldGamer Feb 11, 2022 @ 10:38am
Hi Laurent, great mod, I use it very often, thank you very much for your work.

I have 4 brushes that I think would be interesting to add to your mod. Would you consider adding them?

The 4 brushes are in '.tga' format, with a transparent background and a size of 65 x 65 px.

Thank you, it's very useful.

Thank you soooooo much. Now I love to modellize my terraint. The default brush of the Transportfever 2 was ridicolously small and took my nerves. THANK YOU

Found out what's wrong. Needed to put it at the top of the load order. It works fine now.

This mod doesn't work for me in that it completely disables the terrain tool. I can select brushes and adjust them, but when I go to use them it's like I don't have anything selected and it just drags my camera around.

@Klotzfisch thanks for the tip. Before I released this mod, I checked if any brush mod was existing and I noticed Bigger Brushes but as the author mentioned (and as I checked), he didn't play with terrain brushes so I believed our mods might be compatible. order might prevail though.
Klotzfisch Apr 26, 2020 @ 11:34pm
There is another mod that increases size to 512 ("Bigger Brushes"). This mod overwrites the value of that mod. Changing the loading sequence so that this mod loads first and "Bigger Brushes" loads second solves the problem.

I guess he mixed it up with the Mapeditor, there you got bigger brushes
Laurent  [author] Apr 26, 2020 @ 2:04am
@AV : you might use another mod then, because original maximum size is 64.
AV Apr 25, 2020 @ 4:09pm
brushes are too small. i had 256 size without this mod
Laurent  [author] Apr 25, 2020 @ 11:22am
@Sirhansolo : no, there's no setting in sight to change the rotation increment
abe.sapperstein Apr 25, 2020 @ 10:33am
Nice work. Is there any way to modify the rotation parameters? The square brush, especially, would be a lot more useful if it could be rotated in 5-degree increments.

Wonderful, I was just thinking we needed better terrain tools a few days ago :)
