not on this mech but I tryied on another both in creative and survival but I didn't see much of an improvement. maybe the way I did it was the wrong one.

one more thing: the feet still slip a little. need ajustments but as long as it works it can even slide on ice for what I care.

I've put some images of the prototype on my steam profile. can get back up and go uphills.

PS the best material to use is reinforced wood: it's light, it's resistant and at max level it has some very next gen neons (even if it doesn't make any sense).
yes, that's right, the same material used for carts in 18th century is also the best material to make a mech in scrapmechanic in my opinion.

so I've managed to make it work in a somehow decent way.
I used the same walking system system of the loki but i've changed everything else (even tho the chassis is somewhat similar)

some advices: -I needed a lot of passive stabilizers (8 instead of 2,quite a difference)
-i needed 3 liv 5 controllers (since you need the active stabilizers to be very fast and you need one more for movement, can't use liv 1 stabilizers or the stabilization won't be fast enough)
-I had to put a lot of effort in making the chassis very balanced
-liv 5 seat is not important but it may help for aim sensitivity (unrelated to the walking system but worth of notice)

Ah I see, ok i'll try more passive vs active then. This wasn't something I had tried yet but after today I'm going to make a survival based Godmode Save and test stuff there. This hasn't gotten me beat yet and your feedback really helps. Learning experience for me too. Just hope the Devs put some more content in so this, and any other mech, will have some target practice. =D

just forgot (yes i have more to write): if a mech looks like is just walking and flipping on its back it means there are not enough passive stabilizers (cause they behave differently and yadda yadda yadda) and its a problem that should be fixed with passive stabilizers first and then using the active ones to keep it going that way (works this way in creative, again needs testing in survival).

What I would do is replacing the stabiliztion system entirely and see what happens and also taking off both grenade launchers (with the physics being different they might be more a danger than an advantage) an put a lot of passive stabilizers instead and then take them off one by one to see what the perfect number is.

It looks like your reproduction was suffering from overstabilization to pitch down so there might be something wrong with a controller.

this being said, my experience is based on creative (as it is for many scrapmechanic players) so my advices may be useless if the difference in physics is too much.
I have to figure stuff out from the start out from the start.

it's very annoying when a creation doesn't work as intended, I had it happening many times.
the loki itself was the result of about ten prototypes failing.
The only way I know how to pass this phase is to just keep trying.

This being said the loki in your world was acting really weird: the stabilization system doesn't appear to be working at all, the feet are not supposed to bend that way, It looked like there wasn't inertia at all (passive stabilizers not working or not enough?), YES there should be a bearing in the back where you looked in the video and I don't think I forgot but it may have happened and the sensors didn't appear to be working at all.
my guess is that scrap mechanic is doing it's own thing as always: these days is particularly broken, got stuck in a warehouse elevator yesterday for example.

ok so... where to start.

I got the resources to build a mech in survival just yesterday and YES the physics is very different: I managed to make a mech with the very basic system i've used in the brawler BUT I had to use twice as many passive stabilizers as usual. it looks like stabilizers are not as much strong in survival as they are in creative and the feet tend to slip more too.
I made the loki when survival wasn't out yet so I have to test again what works and what doesn't and I didn't test the loki walking system in survival yet.

Suffice to say, I've tried maxing out all suspensions, controllers, seats, building it heavier, lighter, used counterweights, doubled up on the (bearing suspension glitch balance device) attached to the back. Sunk, as of writing, 26 hours on this and I CANNOT get this to work in survival. Research into this revealed that the physics just do not behave the same in survival than they do in creative.
To note: in my tinkering I have had it be as close to 100% matching the mechanics of the suspension settings and design and have
I've enabled godmode, imported the original blueprint and it doesn't work in survival. =(
(at least at the time of this writing)
Not your fault and not what it was designed for but man am I bummed.

To note: mine has been as close to 100% matching the mechanics of the suspension, settings, and design but what is seen is an attempt at over engineering for survival physics.

must be lag or a bug. somebody else reported not being able to shoot the grenades. i've tested them several times but apparently sometimes they don't work for some people. I don't know why.

The first prototype of the loki was actually a mech with the same structure of the robot you are talking about (with legs instead of Arms and machinegun in the center) but I discarded the project because I wanted to put the rocket launchers and the thrusters.
However, since I've never played generation zero i can't make a reproduction of the tank (because I don't know the details and google images just aren't enough)


So to answer your question: yes I can make a mech similar to the tank but I can't make the tank itself.

Hey! Really cool stuff your making. Im fascinated. I downloaded this mech and it reminded me of a game i have played before called Generation Zero.
The mech you made reminded me of a machine called "Tank".
( Just search up "Generation Zero Tank on google if u want to find it.)

do you mean you can't set it to a 5° angle at all or you don't know how to? you need to hold shift and then change the angle.
if you just need it to walk tho you can just ignore all the sensors and place more passive stabilizers: it will walk (probably) but it won't be able to get up hills and it runs the risk of the stabilizers getting stuck.

btw there's no blueprint editing in this one. You can actually make it in survival (if you are crazy enough to get the resources). only problem is the spudgun magazine cause it's not in the blueprint and the block with an angle cause they're not in survival).

Lag has caused mine to not launch the explosive, nbd though as I was on a friends backup pc and works fine on my main rig.
To ask though, I'm trying to recreate parts of this in my survival world without blueprinting it in for fun. I'm having an issue with not being able to walk. Theory is due to the controllers not being able to be set to 5* or 50* for example. There a work around for this design wise or could you explain how I could make this correction?

I don't know. If you are having lag or fps drops it might cause the mech to misfire. I've tested the grenade launcher several times to make sure it works but accidents still happen.

before anybody tries to claim my creation as their own, the mech was put on the workshop the 8th of april, but it was made public the 16th of april.
people can SEE when the creation was put on the workshop so don't try that and think you can get away with it.
I've already seen this kind of move before.
