@lhaonan913 Sorry for the late response I was busy with RL. So I took a look and unfortunately its not compatbile, because both mods edit the same entries in the database. Basically both mods do the same. So feel free to choose, which u prefer. Have fun playing. :)

i dont get it. Just tested this and i dont see the difference with vanilla? units engage other units and do slash or poke attacks as per usual. Sometimes there is an execution animation.

awesome mod, especially for us the players of older titles (in my case: attila) .
finally the combat scenes of this game are watchable & enjoyable.
but I wonder.....does the player get any bonuses with this mod? I feel I am getting too many heroics ! XD

@AABBCC i the problem is this is a combat animation. And u can´t edit the chance for combat animations. Matched combat increases that chance slightly but u can´t edit the value directly. However if u want to edit values in Total War you need to download the Assembly pack. Each game has those. Look for tools in your Steam library. You then need to start the database editor. I editet the table KV_rules.

They will still use AoE attacks, can´t do anything about that unfortunatetly.

Sorry for my late response I was busy with rl stuff. Please make sure you have this mod loaded after other mods that modify the kv_rules table. Otherwise these mods will overwrite my mod.

Is there a way to make only death animations ? No mid way like defending. Straight up dying. I feel like the units in the game takes way longer to run away or just die really.

I felt like the cav now kills fleeing units more reliably. I can´t say for sure though. What I can tell u is cavalry has no matched combat against heroes. There is a value for this in the table but it was set to 0 from the beginning. I am not sure if cavalary even has matched combat values or finishing animations at all. To put it frankly, I can´t give u an answer for this. As I said before I feel like chasing the units works better but this can also be my personal perception. They will still not kill them with their weapons rather than hitting them with their horses... Can´t do anything about that I suppose. Howver I can recommend another mod which I use myself that might make the chasing with cavalry even better

If u put this mod first in your modlauncher and my afterwards you should be able to use both mods togther. This might achieve what you are asking for.

Thanks for the awesome mod. Does this change the way cavalry attacks fleeing troops? As I see in the vanilla game, cavalry (includes generals) just rams their horses into fleeing troops without using their weapons. Back in Shogun 2, they use weapon all the time. Here in 3K, I don't see cavalry uses weapon, only ramming horses.

The gameplay is mostly affected in the way that battles will take longer. The units will get less damage because they can only hit one model at a time. Still the outcome of the fights were the same for me. Units that won against other units in melee were still winning the fights they should.

I tested it with full melee armies on extreme unit size. The fps and hardware workload were the same for me. I can´t say this will be the same for everyone especially lower spec computers.

I know this mod doesn´t raise the chance for combat animations. But it makes the soldiers attack only one other model so there is less group vs one combat and somehow this triggers more combat animations. So I would say there is a little more cinematic combat with this. Also heroes trigger their animations way more often when fighting troops. Matched combat seems to have higher chances for combat animations. I searched for combat animation percentages but couldn´t find any. This mod makes combat a little better at least I think. Hope some people will get a little joy out of this.

@Circle Of Dao the troops has only a couple of execution moves and dats it, there is no sync combat move, as such no matter how you tweak the data, it aint gonna work the way it is in shogun 2. CA will need to do motion capture to get more animation for different type of troops which is costly I suppose, and unlikely to happen

well yea higher matched comabt chance precentages are better than vanilla but its still not it. think the combat system needs a overwork from CA themself so that troops battle like back in shogun 2
