is this mod newly sanctioned? I remember sanctioned mod count being 30 but now it's 31, and i don't recognize this mod

此模组会隐藏吊起的尸体。但物理交互(例如阻挡箭矢)功能仍保持完整。
Ante Oct 23, 2024 @ 6:14am
The real issue people have had with the mod is that it for some reason got to speed ahead of every other mod in sanction queue.
Ante Oct 23, 2024 @ 6:13am
You spend all game long beheading, bisecting and otherwise goring rats and humans. Thousands per mission. It's nonsensical at best and there's nothing more to say than that.
Fed Oct 14, 2024 @ 4:12pm
Wish we could remove all corpses for similar reasons!

Someone in my family died, and every time i see a dead body ingame it triggers my. PTSD...

Please remove the rest of the corpses fatshasrk! :(
SamEstine Aug 28, 2024 @ 4:03am
It just is odd for people to ask to remove this imagery of dead people, when the game is all about killing people (northlanders). As much as it is valid you claim that people have a right to this, people also have a valid claim to question the special priority it received to be sanctioned while other, much more needed QOL mods were in queue at the time.
The Spy Is A Heavy Aug 27, 2024 @ 10:54pm
@miketheratguy this is a video game, not the world. If someone wants this game to be a safe space for them, why does that bother you?
miketheratguy Jun 13, 2024 @ 8:17pm
It's perfectly fine that this mod exists, I'm all for people being able to play a game without external concerns, but honestly: the world is full of images, words, beliefs, concepts and behavior we don't like. That's life. It's healthier to learn to cope with this kind of stuff than it is to just hide from it. the world isn't a "safe space".

this thing crashed my game on Chaos Wastes
uzze Jun 27, 2023 @ 7:31pm
Does it get rid of the corpses on the floor?
Poppin' Lock Mar 3, 2023 @ 2:39pm
What is with these trolls in this comment section? I just use this mod so I can see through the hanging corpses lmao. Don't think so hard about stuff that doesn't affect you.
tranz2deep Feb 23, 2023 @ 7:24am
Some people might like removing various gore issues but this one is a pass. Don't get me wrong, I'm not into swaying dripping grody-sacks in any particular way, but the Blood Tree (Blot Tree) would make no sense if seen without the hung bodies...
Headless Feb 9, 2023 @ 1:06pm
good mod

Grow up.

I have trouble with bright lights, and when playing Oblivion, opening the bright interface in a dark dungeon is extremely painful. So, I wrote myself a mod to solve the problem, then shared it with the public, and it ended up helping other people.

Seeing a therapist doesn't remove the existence of a trauma, it just helps you deal with it. Maybe somebody close killed themselves by hanging, and seeing that specific thing every time they played was extremely painful. So (maybe) someone made a mod to let that person (or people, or themselves) play - and shared it for those that wanted it.

Besides, it's an optional mod. Why is that controversial? It's like getting angry because a person you've never met in a house you'll never visit has curtains you don't like. If it fills you with so much rage that you have to go on a mouth-frothing attack because of it, maybe you should be seeing someone, too.
The_furf_of_July Dec 20, 2022 @ 4:43am
@Zaxabock
This mod is focused primarily on people with trauma and PTSD. So yes, in all likelihood, they are or should be seeing a therapist, or have seen a therapist.
Hund Dec 4, 2022 @ 8:35am
@Vargknugen tbf i believe a lot of the comments complaining about the mod's existence were deleted. i remember first looking at this mod a while back, and there was some really vitriolic words being chucked around

@Argdvärgen

The Internet is so fun.
Krigsprästen Nov 25, 2022 @ 12:45am
The seething over the non-existent seething over this mod's existence is the funniest thing ever. It's like the dangerhair brigade can't help but to gaslight themselves or something.
Pottersmash Nov 22, 2022 @ 12:14pm
Thanks for this mod!! Would love one that also removes the corpses all over the ground but I know that's probably a big ask ;)
katzemancer ΘΔ Nov 15, 2022 @ 2:37pm
imagine getting that mad over a mod that you're not at all obligated to use lmao
Zaxabock Nov 12, 2022 @ 10:14am
This is fucking warhammer go see a therapist if you get fucking triggered by video game assets.
xanthos Nov 9, 2022 @ 6:18am
I´ve read through some of the comments, and one stated to replace those corpes with some kind of sand bags. I haven´t played through all the levels yet, but if there is something like hanging empty cages for example, those would make a good filler, too. I don´t know if you remove the corpses "pinnend" to walls, too, with this mod. If so, replacing them with cages or removing them completely is a valid way. Having a sack of Sand hang on a wall would look quite strange, though. ;)

Thank you for this mod, again!
xanthos Nov 9, 2022 @ 6:12am
This is what I´ve been looking for! It´s so cool that this game can be down-graded blood and splatter/gore wise within the ingame controls, but all the hanged corpses still won´t make it a PG12 suitable game. So removing those leftover bits (hanging corpses) for so many different reasons is really a blessing for players who want to play this game.

Thank you so much. I´ve opened my prize chestbox extra wide for you! Please keep this mod updated!! It´s so important! Great work!
reluctantgiraffe Nov 8, 2022 @ 1:55am
Must be nice to not have trauma, some of these comments are so short-sighted. As someone who suffers severe ptsd from finding a family member hung, I cannot thank you enough for making this mod. I would not have been able to play this game without it
stonetomcat Nov 5, 2022 @ 7:33am
Imagine getting upset over a mod that removes a potential trigger for other people.
Grow up and let people play the game how they want, nobody's forcing you to install this mod.

Sorry about all the vitriol you've received over this mod Sir Aiedail.
≽^•⩊•^≼Kei⚲❤⚝ Jul 26, 2022 @ 11:19pm
wouldn't it be better, if at all possible, to replace the model with the hanging cluster of sandbags in the cave from the mission Engines of War? that way theres at least something visible to know if an arrow would be blocked?
TadNeurotic Jul 23, 2022 @ 12:46am
imagine how strange the Blót Tree must look with this mod on.
Ante Jun 11, 2022 @ 7:18am
show one example of this occurring on war camp. complete cope
Nietzsche's Nightmare Jun 11, 2022 @ 7:17am
Did anyone ever think about how this could be used to ensure you dont get videos flagged for violent images/etc? Content creators get shafted by BS all the time, shit like this has a lot of potential to be an easy solution to a stupid problem
Chrysalis Feb 15, 2022 @ 3:28am
how weird... :riddler:
Linalool900 Dec 21, 2021 @ 9:53am
why are people malding over a mod?
Fed Dec 12, 2021 @ 4:11pm
It's funny how triggered people get about others getting triggered lol

seems like some people just want an excuse to be mad over something these days XD
Shartyfartblast Oct 13, 2021 @ 12:29am
I just wanted to say thank you to Sir for making this mod, it's awesome to see modders with intelligence and empathy like this helping members of the community that have had to endure the suicide of someone they dearly loved.

I am very sorry that as a result of your work you've had to suffer a comment section full of utter cunts with the intelligence and social skill of a used condom. You're a good bloke, keep up the great work. :claptrap:
OatsMalone Aug 8, 2021 @ 8:42am
Really happy to see this mod. A friend has trouble with imagery like this, and it would have made this game unplayable for her, so it's cool that this exists!
Kraken160th Jun 30, 2021 @ 9:34am
PTSD trigger removal mod.
Orion Jun 9, 2021 @ 11:54am
It's honestly funny how some people's brains turn off and forget that there are people who have suffered trauma and got scarred by finding a friend or loved one of their's hung and go caveman mode, commenting how useless and pointless this is when it's much more useful than they give it credit for.
Soldou Jun 6, 2021 @ 3:50pm
It's funny how the people who get toxic and shitty about this sort of stuff and making fun of people for finding stuff upsetting are always the true snowflakes, getting this upset and pissy over a mod that doesn't affect them in the slightest. Grow up, children.
pungentstentch May 24, 2021 @ 10:05am
@Sam

I don't need this mod at all, but hanging people is a serious trigger for people who had been unlucky enough to find a relative or friend dead this way.

And as bizarre as it may sound, suicide casualties are a real problem and people still use hanging as a preferred method to kill themselves

(sources {LINK REMOVED} {LINK REMOVED} )

It's not that difficult to find people in your social circle that can play gore games like this with 0 problems, but the sight of an individual hanging can trigger a bad time for them.

So I understand the need for this mod, and why it can be prioritized by Fatshark, taking into account also that it only modifies cosmetics inside the game.
SamEstine May 24, 2021 @ 6:10am
Gonna be honest I don't really get this mod's purpose as it sounds ridiculous to me but whatever, it's just that THIS was sanctioned before all the other mods that applied. FS stopped approving mods for years, then come back to ONLY sanction this. That's absurd.
Giant Dad May 23, 2021 @ 8:50pm
This comment section is so toxic, like you guys know people who use this mod have the gore turned off as well in their game right? That's an option you can do. The "oh but they're dismembering people left and right in this game, why would hanging people be bad!!!" argument doesn't work at all, please shut it.
GioGio Apr 2, 2021 @ 1:32am
People complaining about this mod have nothing to complain about because they live lackluster lives. Get a hobby besides gaming you neckbeards, lmao
Bean Father Mar 28, 2021 @ 2:42am
so much :steamsalty:
Freakasaurus Rex Feb 22, 2021 @ 12:46pm
im glad people are able to make themselves more comfortable with mods, if you like vermintide but are uncomfortable with with the imagery of hanged corpses, im happy this mod exists for you
Bender Jan 27, 2021 @ 2:34pm
You're the one complaining about a mod, you're the weak sauce one here it seems.
Sir Aiedail  [author] Jan 1, 2021 @ 11:45am
As far as I know, even something as simple as changing blood from red to black can be enough for some people to avoid trauma. But I'm no expert, so I'll refrain from "being certain" about any of it.
What I do know is that if it didn't help, people wouldn't be using it. And the mod only affects those that install it anyways, so no need to feel like it degrades someone's experience unnecessarily.

As for the "social brownie points", judging by this comment thread there're probably more points lost with all those people getting offended by the mod (for I-don't-know-who's sake) than points earned with the few that do actually use it.
If you want to keep tabs on that, be my guest.
Vaged Dec 26, 2020 @ 3:05am
This mod was clearly approved because many people have issue with Hanged Corpses due to it's correlation with suicide. People are frustrated that many other mods were passed up for this one but they forget the entire reason for the approval process. Maybe if those other mods were as mundane as this one, they would have been approved too.
Sir Aiedail  [author] Dec 25, 2020 @ 10:04am
As far as I remember, you're the first to bring up that argument. But that's a somewhat distorted way to tell the story anyways.
It wasn't the case that there was a spot open for any mod to be sanctioned and that this mod "took the spot" from a more popular one. On the contrary. Modding had been quite low on the priority list, and it still is.
So when I created the mod, I didn't actually expect anything to happen. But I was contacted by the devs directly instead.
Apparently the mod had sparked discussions within the studio about the impact of mods, especially in regards to accessibility, and they had decided to delay some people's work for a few days and allow them to review as many mods as they can within that time frame.
It ended up being only three, sadly.
