If you head on over to wherever your game files are stored and head to gfx/interface, you should find that they are packed in those .dds files. Use a program like Notepad++ or someting similar to open those files and find what you're looking for!

one mod that would be extremely helpful is getting rid of Trade Companies. Trade companies keep their base culture when colonized, which makes custom-only worlds fall apart after ai nations that started in asia have rebel problems and real countries start appearing. Just a thought
