Sadly this mod has a fundamental flaw: Recruitment dialogue often relies on a skill check for the character you want to recruit, if the skills of that character are too high, the character cannot be recruited. Look up "DC_IS_RECRUITABLE" on the Kenshi wiki.

With this mod the stats of some normally recruitable characters are raised above the limit, for example Stubs and Infinite Wingwang.

this doesn't work :(

@Machete_h4X I was about to say yes, but now that I think about it, I didn't disabled all of my mod which doesn't managed with mod manager such as Kenshi Performance Fix and RE_Kenshi. Maybe it's a compatibility issue with RE_Kenshi if I have to pick one.
Machete_h4X Apr 17, 2024 @ 10:58am
Is this issue confirmed with just this mod, or could it be a compatibility issue?
Garlic Mar 30, 2024 @ 3:07am
I couldn't find out why via FCS, but I can confirm this mod causes a bug makes you can't interact with some unique recruits like Pia and Stubs Momuso. If this happens to you, disable this mod, leave the town, and come back to reload the zone. I could recruit Pia normally, and now I'm gonna try Momuso later.

hey I really like this mod, but i'm using UWE with it and it seems that i can't interact with the unique recruits that are from that mod, do you know the problem for this?

what a good idea

Awesome patch @Helmotz

I was literally about to make this mod or some thing close to it and you beat me to it. :) Nice :cactusrum:
Arisa Feb 1, 2021 @ 3:04pm
plz make average of 25
The lowest stat a basic recruit can have is 1, and the highest is 50
Helmotz Jan 10, 2021 @ 3:14pm
Thanks :D

@Helmotz Absolutely feel free to keep it up, I'm so glad you liked my mod enough to create a patch for it and another great mod.
Helmotz Jan 10, 2021 @ 4:09am
Hello, I've made a compatibility patch between your mod and "Adventurers Guild Recruitment", here is the link : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?edit=true&id=2357070471

Do you give me the permission to keep this mod online ? (It uses your work)

Yeah was silly having to start from lvl 1 with most new character, thanks for this helps alot.
Mr. Anonymous Oct 30, 2020 @ 2:17am
Recruiting unique characters now confirmed working normally since the fix. Thanks Boss!
IronSquid501 Oct 29, 2020 @ 5:40pm
That was quick, thanks :steamhappy: I feel like updating the stats of every unique character would be a whole mod in itself, so I don't blame you.
J-pag  [author] Oct 29, 2020 @ 4:25pm
@IronSquid501 I removed the unique character randomization for time being. I don't have the patience to go through every one of them to figure out what hidden switch in their dialogue is being broken atm so that bug should be fixed now.
IronSquid501 Oct 29, 2020 @ 7:24am
I don't think this makes the game unbalanced, a level 10 recruit is no less useless than a level 1 recruit and getting to level 10 takes mere minutes, but everyone being level 1 is definitely immersion breaking. Would love to download this once the unique character bug is fixed!
Mr. Anonymous Sep 27, 2020 @ 3:18pm
Unable to recruit any unique characters. Tried new game and importing. Nothing works.

Great mod, makes things a little more believable to me at least.

Only thing is, I can not recruit Griffin in Stack or Miu in Shark anymore. Other named recruits like Ruka and Kang in Squin or Green in Shark still work.

I loved the idea, but to balance it I could add higher values to hire them. (sorry english is not my native language)
Pungun May 22, 2020 @ 8:37am
Could you add another mod where recruits are much stronger, about 35 stats. I am playing kenshi for a while and tired of grinding and making them more valid. I just want to collect army for a second and go fight. Please :3
A Good Boy May 20, 2020 @ 6:03pm
@aam i agree with that idea balancing it out a bit more

mrtnz May 20, 2020 @ 3:40pm
I've been unable to recruit green (unique hiver worker with super high crossbow ability, usually spawns in shark) and that might be because of this mod but I'm not sure (prisoner recruitment may have broken him, idk). since someone else had a problem recruiting uniques this might be the same problem I'm having

also I agree that being able to recruit strong all-rounders easily is kinda OP, maybe cap unskilled recruits at like 10 for most skills? and have warriors with <10 in the trade skills but 20-30 in combat skills, vice versa for tradesmen, I think it'd be better immersed that way
J-pag  [author] May 20, 2020 @ 12:01pm
@Veela if you could let me know what recruits this is happening with I could try my best to fix them or disable the edits I made to them at the very least. I know this happened with beep on the first version of the mod but I'm 99% sure I fixed him by editing his dialogue requirements.
A Good Boy May 19, 2020 @ 12:28pm
@Veela you sure this is from this mod i think i have also had this issue but i run alot of mods and didnt even think it could be this one
Luna May 17, 2020 @ 5:57am
Some unqiue recruits ended up not being able to recruit, nice mod though :(
ufos8mycow Mar 31, 2020 @ 12:15pm
Note: This will make early game a hell of a lot easier

Pay attention to this. I imported a game and recruited Hobbs and a 3k recruit so far. Both are pretty OP. Most of their stats are high teen to mid twenties. Both have weapon stats in the 20s to 30s across the board. Same with all the trade skills.

It's a great mod but for me it breaks immersion a little. I want a Farmer but when i find him he is also proficient(15-30%) in every weapon, turrets, medic, science, engineering, weapon & armor crafting, cooking etc.

Not sure if it's possible but I'd like to see it toned down a little for generic recruits and maybe increased for unique/6k recruits to match their specialties.

I highly recommend this mod to people who have played vanilla or a lightly modded game already and want to skip some of the grind. But for a newer player I'd say it's a little too OP for a first game of 'Beat Me, Eat Me, Now I'm a Slave'

I like the idea, will definetly try it out

nice

Makes totally sense, even for starting chars
Valikar Mar 25, 2020 @ 2:36am
Love the idea of the mod, will give it a try and let you know any suggestions I can come up with.
