Hey all, I haven't look at this character in over 3 years and am just now reading all of the comments! I've gone ahead and reverted all of the changes which includes no ads! I saw a lot of people upset with my nerfs and obviously the ad was in poor taste. Hopefully those who still have the mod installed can enjoy them, feel free to keep hating, but since I don't make mods anymore, the least I could do is do right with the people who still like garfield 🙏

Character felt ok overall, but putting ads for your other characters as part of the taunt made me uninstall. That is not the way to do it, as someone else stated.

As everyone else has said, the ads in the taunt are awful, and you nerfed him pretty severely. It's funny you said the other characters are "more polished," because you actually sabotaged this one. If you're so proud of the characters you make, why make one worse, seemingly on purpose? Because it's a joke character? Because it's more popular than your others?

For those who don't like the ads in the taunt:

In File Explorer, open this file location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\383980\2026206723

Then, open the sprites folder, and open Tomongus.png with the sprite/paint editor of your choice (make sure it allows transparency). Then, simply erase the Advertisement parts of the sprite in that sprite/paint editor, leaving it blank.

When you load Rivals of Aether and taunt using Garfield, you would still see some text.
To remove it, go to the scripts folder, and open debug_draw.gml with the text editor of your choice. Remove the code from there, and save it.

A solid character ruined by advertisements for other creations. People might or do understand that you put effort in them, but this is sadly not an excuse to abuse another characters taunt to promote them. Or even mark the lasagne-eating orange cat with characters that are needed so he works properly (altho he does work without them, no joke there). So please listen to the people and push out one final update that fixes this major problem of his.

I love this character but there are two problems. Get rid of the taunt. Everyone hates it. The idle animation is weird. He should just be smiling and standing. Why is he scared for his life and ready to jump off of a cliff?

im so sad that he got nerfed, he just is no where near as fun to fight against because hes so low tier. i would like to see either a change back to the fast lasagna toss version or a legacy garfield

I don't like you put an ad in Garfield's taunt don't get me wrong your other characters are awesome but having a ad is distracting and ruins the taunt, the Immersion and people online can use to annoy people.
