The mod does work - today!

Since comments are very limited in size, I posted my post as a new discussion instead.

The short summary: the mod does work, yes I tested it TODAY, and no, people won't drive their cars to work at industries.

Reason why people do not drive to the far industry work location: the destination needs to be registered in the city as a "destination" for people from the city to want to go there.

For some reason, if the distance of a thing that is not a city is more than a certain threshold, cities will not register it as a destination. Maybe travel time is a factor? I have seen some very close to city industries become destinations automatically and people walk and drive there like it is a regular industry building in town.

Maybe you place a passenger station nearby an industry and create a line connecting it to a city, and this causes it to become a destination for the city? Maybe some people will drive there, even if you do not have any service for the line because of the line telling the city to know of the work location now?

I do not know how it works. Maybe also the mod author does not, because it uses only the same worker attraction system as city industry buildings...

Is there a reason people can't use their cars to go to an industry? I'd love to set up lines and all, but let people first travel on their own and I can add public transportation later

I have a few questions:

Do industries need workers to function?
Do industries need to be upgraded if a new game is started?

I think I fixed the mod for the new game, now it works perfectly, all industries get industrial capacity set right away, no magic with upgrade needed. I'll test it a little bit more and upload soon.

Saved game industries still have to be upgraded manually or with bulk upgrade, I'll take a look if there is a way to solve it.

For those folks, who couldn't get it to work, I just need to say that it works till date!
Load order :
1. Any Industry Mod (like Yeol's or Real Industrial Chains)
2. More Industry Levels
3. This Mod (last to load)

I did all you wrote, the mod does not work. Not for a saved game nor a new game. The menu shows nothing.

Added this mod to a game in progress, and it works as described. Just remember to replace/upgrade industries to get people to travel to them.

cant update here.
Anyway, the 1.2 was just a minor fix for special case, like the Rail&Track industry mod.
Can you please say what exactly is not working.
Is there a crash message?
Does it work without other mods?
Please note that industries need to upgrade first, before the change is active.

Started a new map with this mod enabled and connected some industries with passenger lines, but for some reason nobody seems to be travelling to the industries. The mod worked fine on my old save, so I'm not sure what changed...

First of all, thank you for the rather quick response.
It is of course a pity that you probably can not mod at the moment but could you tell me such a mod that prohibits private traffic? My father already told me that there is such a thing, but I have never found such.

Leider kann ich derzeit nicht an Modifikationen für Transport fever 2 arbeiten, mein aktueller Rechner unterstützt dies nicht.
Sie können keine Personen zum Unternehmen mitnehmen, dies wird die Leistung nicht beeinträchtigen. Wenn die Leute mit privaten Verkehrsmitteln dorthin fahren, versuchen Sie es mit modifizierten Straßen mit einem Verbot für den persönlichen Transport (solche Straßen gibt es in Steam Workshop und unter https://www.transportfever.net/) .

Hallo, kurze Frage.
Ich spiele zurzeit mit dem 7 in 1 Hafen den man zurzeit auf der Hauptseite vom Workshop sehen kann. Das schöne bei diesem Hafen ist, das man die Produktionsmenge selbst einstellen kann. Da ich nicht andauernd neu Einstellen wollte, wie viel dieser Produzieren kann, habe ich ihn direkt auf 4000 gestellt, was die maximale Produktion ist.
Nun habe ich das Problem, das Extrem viele Menschen dorthin fahren, was den Verkehr stark beeinflusst. Kann man da vielleicht etwas dran verändern? Denn ich würde ungern diese Mod hier rauslassen um diesen schönen Hafen nutzen zu können.

Dazu meine Frage:
Diese Mod bezieht sich auf die nur vom Spiel gesetzte Industrie?
Die von mir selbst gesetzten Industrien werden nicht erkannt.
Sehe ich das so richtig?

@realSeraphim We spoke about balancing of population in towns. In stock game number of population equalized (some changes between towns on map) with number of worker places. But now additional workplaces get out some peoples from town, so inTown generated industry will get not enough peoples to work on. So I create a collection with other modmakers placeble living buildings, number of living peoples in that buildings didnt count as city population, so it creates additional peoples for additional workplaces. But for now there is no way to get statistic about how many new living or working places you allready created, so you must place them with "closed eyes"

Спасибо, потом пригодится, но сейчас у меня катка на тропической карте с сетапом США, и они туда не впишутся. Но наверное такие дома можно для других регионов найти.

Для увеличения наполняемости пригордных поездов советую поставить дополнительные жилие здания (специально создал коллекцию https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2105446863)

Понятно, спасибо. Плохо, что трудно влиять на такие механики. Мои "пригородные электрички" ходят пустыми и приносят убытки, автобусы еще туда-сюда. В игре не хватает для таких целей что-то типа пазиков или газелей с вместимостью 3-5 человек.

Писал по-английски, чтобы это, может, оказалсь полезно для кого-то еще в чате.

В целом проблема с недостатком рабочих для индустрии решается установкой кастомных жилых зданий (к сожалению на текущем этапе у них тоже нет интерфейса с кол-вом и занятостью жителей, как у обычных городских зданий). Количество жителей в них не добавляется в общее кол-во жителей в городе, но они так-же участвуют в "борьбе за рабочие места", поэтому будут либо ездить на дальнюю индустрию, либо вытеснят с внутригородских рабочих мест жителей, который так-же начнут ездить на дальнюю работу.

@Darth LegiON тут проблема в механиках стоковой игры. К сожалению у нас нет доступа к тому участку кода игры, который влияет на выбор типа транспорта жителями. По этой-же причине работники начинают набирается в индустрию только после начала игры.
По поводу малого кол-ва работников: тут все дело в интервалах. Видимо в том городе, из которого ты забирает работников у тебя хорошо развит общественный транспорт. Поэтому работникам быстрее добираться до внутригородских рабочих мест, чем до индустриальных.

And I see that there are very few people want to travel to my industries. I have 6 lvl farm and 4 lvl food factory and there are 1-5 workers around there, and of course not 50-200. What's wrong with it?

Well, it's still a very good mod, but I've noticed two strange things so far:
1. Why industry start attract workers only after creating a route?
2. Why workers doesn't use their own vehicles to reach a workplace? I'd look natural, could you add it?

@Patrick моды совместимы (по крайней мере те, с которыми я играю (х2 уровней у производств), количество рабочих мест растет соответсвенно увеличению объемов производства

Thanks dude! I always used the Human Assets to make the Industries functional. But now, cuz this Mod is out: I dont need to use them on the Industrys anymore!

@gGeorg now I can't affect on any in-game parameters, so I can't control maintenance coast, sorry. And there is no pedestrian patch in stock depots, so peoples can't reach workplaces in depots.
@Gabix there is placeble commercial and residential buildings in workshop.

@RealityMind did you play with stock or modded industry? Coas I play with stock and it work for every industrial building. And you need to start new game, or upgrade level of existing industry manualy, or wait, till it will be upgraded automatically with production level
