this was one of the first things i got from the workshop
So here's the thing, after building this ship I've build other gyroscopes way better, but none of these gyroscopes are build to use thruster to correct its balance. They all require suspension glitches, which are not an option for a ship this big. However, if I can make that conversion from one of my newer gyroscopes I could at least make this ship fly again. Maybe someone else can build it? That would be a cool challange for the community I guess. Every glitch (except crash inducing glitched) is allowed.
That said, I'm not gonna put my trust in someone else finding a solution, I will eventually fix it myself. Just wanna mention that such a gyroscope that uses thrusters instead of suspension glitches and can endure some shocks is the key to any big non lagging flying creation. If I manage to get my hands on something like that again I will promise I will build more of these big flying creations. Promised.
And then finally, the survival update happened. It broke the ship even more due to the change of material weights. I kept silent. I stopped playing scrap mechanic for a time. Interest was lost and so was my sence of responsibility to answer you guys. Time went by until aproximately 1 month ago. I started playing again for a bit and decided to check if I could at least make it fly again. Since the material weights changed I assumed the only thing to do was to rebalance the thrusters, which I did and it flew again, it still does though, but I discovered a new problem. The current gyroscoe it currently has is broken, making it lose balance over time. If you know me then you know gyroscope are my thing and it's the heart of every big flying creation. It was a one time special build type of a gyroscope with some really unique algorithm, and It's really hard to get back into the logic which is why I could not yet fix it.
Furthermore, the magic floating entrance pad showed more issues. Whenerever the ship would fly for a while at high speeds it would break it, making it bug out and fly into all directions and requiring a respawn. It's no fun to spend soo much time on a creation to see it fail this bad. Undetstand my absence in the comment section.
Alright, people. I've been completely silent about this creation ever since the survival update broke it but decided I shouldn't keep you guys in the dark about it anymore. So here's the deal. This creation was already kinda broken before the survival update but I wasn't willing to admit it. The problem that whenever you triggered the explosive which crashed the game and then corrupts the world was in there from the start. The problem however was that to solve that I needed to get rid of the magic floating entrance pad which I just wasn't willing to sacrifice. Moreover, this problem also never seemed to happen to me outside of very laggy moments, so I deemed it acceptable and ignored the outcomes on other peoples computer. I'm really sorry about that, really people..
it'll float off into the sky, and eventually will flip over upside-down
the rockets will explode immediately upon activation, which will likely blow up the pilot seat (it gives a pretty cool crashing effect though)
spaceship: explo-o-o-o-o... BUGSPLAT
Bugsplat: HEY YOUR GAME JUST CRASHED WE DONT KNOW WHY BUT OK
its not a big issue tho
This is absolute insanity! So much know-how you put into this, I dont understand how things (glitches) are working, but they do pretty well! it's scary...
Really well done!
