Working on temp threshold improvement next. Also trying to figure out a way to make the config dynamic and not needed to be configured.

I'm assuming so, but I want to start simple. Is the first gearbox (reverse) connected to the Reverse Transmission Output on the controller?

Hello, I'm trying to use this in one of my boats, but I can't get the reverse gear to work.

I've got it connected to a throttle with minimum value at -1 (I tried using the seat too).

Forward gear shifting works fine.

I have 4 gearboxes pointing towards the engine. 1st gearbox: 1:1/1:-1 x 2nd gearbox 1:1/2:1 x 3rd gearbox 1:1/3:1 and 4th gearbox 1:1/5:2

you may also need to add a second gearbox for reverse. First one with 1:-1 and second one like 1:2 or 1:3. Reverse at 1:-1 can be hard on it.

Try increasing the clutch setting by 0.5 and then by 1 to see if that helps. if still not working, let me know and I can help via Discord.

Edit: Apperently my gearboxes were the wrong way, so my boat obviously went not fast at all... but now when I try to reverse the engine dies... after I start it again it will reverse but when I try to go forward again it dies again. Sorry, im sure your creation works really well, I just cant figure it out...

I still cant get the gears and reverse to work. the indicator shows the switched gears but the boat still goes the same speed or doesn´t switch into reverse. Is that because the previous gearbox always disengages? (I have normal propellors) Do I have to have all gearboxes paralel or can I have them in one row (thats what I currently have).

What are you transmission property settings?

throttle on my medium engine keeps bouncing between 0,5 and 0,1, while min thottle has been set to 0,1

My vehicle needed a final drive, it did 165 km/h in first gear

Update! You will need to replace existing placements. I forgot that long ago i set it to engage 1st and Reverse together in an attempt to help large ships with low ratio reverse. I have now removed that. You can still accomplish this by using 2 gearboxes for reverse. Also, no more reverse toggle button, you can now use (-) throttle to engage reverse, or W/S input!

Oxferd_Gaming, I deleted your comment on accident. I believe you asked if you had to use 7 gears. I just wanted to add that if you refer to the pic above you will see an entry for Total Forward Gears. That can be 1 to 7.

If anyone has any ideas on how to improve it, or make it more universal, please let me know. I was going to try to have it determine shift points based on torque, like as torque drops below a certain threshold, then shift, but I found it the torque meter is more static than dynamic so that wouldn't work.
