More specifics about the game breaking bugs when using only this mod would be helpful.
I can only test the things I know about.
I can't reproduce the bug with bars not spawning. All the bars that I've visited work.
Is it something reproducible? Specific bars that we can look at?
Also, please let us know if you have any other mods that might be reacting badly with this mod to cause the bugs.
We're trying to keep everything mod neutral. So, if it's bugging someone else' mod, we want to know.
The best place for specific examples is the bug thread. That way, DMSelena can keep track of them all. I'm just her husband, and tend to be forgetful. :P
She reset the tweaks that she made to the throne room in the latest update, since it seemed to be causing issues. She never made any changes to furniture or room contents though. Odd bug. Let us know if it's fixed now (After an import, if possible)?
The name randomization isn't complete yet.
When it's finished, it'll allow conversations to work better between characters. They'll be able to refer to each other by name.
If you notice any bugs or ways that it makes things worse, let us know.
lmk if i can contact you on discord, so i can DM you examples @Wyldhunt
The randomized names were on purpose, to add more depth. Get rid of the 20 Dust Bandits attacking you. Now, it's Bob, Mary, and their 28 close friends.
Are they causing unexpected bugs?
How is it bugging Phoenix's throne room? (I don't get out that way much)
I want a much better world than Kenshi, IRL, but I wrote all the dialogue according to the premise of Kenshi's existing lore, so I didn't make the world "better" so much as more alive in its wretchedness. This includes hate, ignorance, and senseless violence.
I have a very fulltime job that is crazy right now. So, please feel free to download it and copy it, mod it yourself, whatever. Especially if you notice that there aren't any updates for awhile and something is wrong that you can fix.
I'll continue to update here when I get time.
Thanks and stay safe!
So as hinted at I quickly decided to redownload the mod, tho there are some grammar mistakes here and there it's not a bother, and the Dialogue loop of the Dust bandit demands was easily enough fixed myself.
Now Im not sure if the Mod Author did some work on it, but the most recent Dust bandit demand I had at my town did not get stuck in a loop, instead they finished their threats and then turned around to leave angrily, however none of them turned hotile yet and I don't think I got a reputation penalty. This again may be caused due to a conflict with the Bandit variety mod and it's no real issue, but I figure I'd post my observation here.
I did make a screenshot of the Dialogue set in question in case you need it to check it out, but either way, I really dig all this extra dialogue going on!
Since Im the only one posting an issue like this Ill assume it's due to onbe of my other mods, likely the Bandit variety mod or one of those.
I still really liked this mods for the time I had it installed, so much so that I am considering just installing it anyway, screw those loopy Dust bandits!
There are a bunch of word lists that other conversations use to add flavor and keep things from repeating too often. Each word list is a list of synonyms for a specific word.
This mod expands those lists, makes a couple of new lists, and makes a few minor changes to the base conversations so that they will use the new lists.
Other dialog mods which also modify those lists will not be compatible.
Other mods which also change the base conversations should be placed below this mod in the mod order. The extra word lists may not show up any more, but everything else will work fine without breaking the other mod.
Other dialog mods which add entirely new conversations will work fine.
Other dialog mods which use the default word lists will use this mods expanded word lists.
The best examples I've seen so far have been the insults from the UC nobles, character reactions to losing limbs (They get very colorful now...), and once when bandits came to my base to demand that us f**k mallets pay them protection money.
It is humorous, thorough, and painstakingly crafted to give each character a unique voice based on that characters attributes.
What this mod does:
In the conversation files, there are special tags that you can use which change the wording as needed.
For example: "[He/She] stole my cane!" [He/She] will be replaced with the appropriate descriptor.
Kenshi uses these tags to create word lists of compatible words for things like [Insult], [Punch], etc. Each list might contain several words or phrases, and one of those words will be chosen based upon prerequisites such as sex, race, relation score, etc. This gives Kenshi a dynamic layer which allows a character to treat different characters in different ways.
DMSelena has expanded upon these word tags and added a bunch of new ones. These lists include more branching and options based upon the characters personality as well as the other layers. So, an intelligent character will sling very different insults from a dumb or treasonous character.
