Did you ever get these fixed? Would be nice to have 1 building give 2k attractiveness

It's been a while since I looked into these tree mods. With the new Airports dlc patch I'm currently just waiting on all mods to be updated before I play again, so hopefully soon. Yet it baffles me now hearing that the trees behave differently from the #2 campus statue. That the default statues unlock yet the trees remain locked, pending reaching prestigious. I did absolutely nothing to the coding of the trees/statures. With the in-game mod creation tool, I extracted the default #2 statue object relevant to each campus, shrunk it down smaller than the human eye can see and plonked a normal size fruit tree object on top. That's it. It's still actually a default statue that's doing the attraction business, not an actual fruit tree. But I guess a later patch has changed something about that shrunken extracted statue I now need to look at.

I ended up spamming a row of statues and then when the campus hit prestigious, deleted them and placed some of the now-unlocked orange trees around to keep the attractiveness rating intact. So, they can still come in useful!

I have the same problem: the tree is locked behind reaching the level 5 “Prestigious” tier, so I cannot place it. All other level-appropriate vanilla buildings are ploppable, including the statues.,

I'll look into it, of course. But they are nothing more than campus statues made to look like trees, and as such should follow the rules of whatever you can or cannot currently do with uni campus statues. Perhaps the devs have made this somewhat cheaty approach no longer viable? No more multiple placements of the same uni statues to boost attraction, lest you're in a high enough position where it no longer matters and they can be added as nothing more than decorations. A simple test would be, how many of the same uni attraction statues can you now place? Endless multiples as it once was, or now locked off by tier rules to end the attraction boost cheating? Then same rule would apply to these trees. If you can place a single statue, but not one of these trees instead, then yep, I'll have to look into that. But if neither statue or tree can be repeatedly placed after placing a first, then that's a patch change to remove the stacked boost cheating I can do nothing about.

I mean it's locked behind the highest university tier upgrade. You need to have already reached the max campus attraction upgrade before you can place these.

Sorry for late reply @Dan. I've been off modding TS4. Not sure what you mean by "locked to latest university." Is this a new patch alteration to universities via the Harbour pack? I have a current snow city I'm building in Skylines, though still small not got round to placing university campuses as yet. Guess I'll get round to spotting what you mean - if I can recreate it - once I start placing these trees in their respective uni campuses.

Good idea, but you have it locked to the latest university, so you can only use this after you've already reached 1800. Therefor, pointless.
