Extract the files out of the VPK that say background and place them in the L4D2 media folder. you might wanna save your old files.. other wise you can verify integrity of game cache to re-install

you have to open the VPK file with GCFScape... open the materials folder and extract the .bik files to the location .. which is steam/steamapps/common/left4dead2/left4dead2/media and put them in there... if you want your old l4d2 back ground afterwards... just verify game cache
